We had ice cream and a deep fried twinkie as well. Life is good :teeth:

One day...one day I will find and try one of those :)

I just don't do many fairs/festivals these days. But as the kids get older, I shall return to them.

:moped: Warning: EIOP :moped:

It's been a crazy week at our house without kids around. It started out innocently enough. I spent $425 on computer equipment on Friday and decided that I had better cook a GREAT dinner for DW Sue to soften the blow. And it almost worked. She was about halfway through her t-bone and grilled veggies when she got that look on her face and she asked "Ok. What did you buy?" She knows me all too well. She wasn't too upset, though. We get $200 in rebates and James really did need a new monitor for his computer at school. As for the "extra" one that I bought for me, I consider it an early anniversary gift to myself.

Sunday we picked up a couple of James' friends and drove to Youngstown for lunch. After lunch, we drove the rest of the way to Slippery Rock University where Sarah is attending marching band camp. James and his friends had a great time chatting with all the underclassmen. We watched the band practice for about an hour and then headed back towards Youngstown and eventually home.

Monday morning, the two LCD monitors that I ordered on Friday arrived at our front doorstep. I hurried home from work and unpacked the 17" monitor (the one for James) and tried it out. Sweet. It was about 8PM and I hinted to Sue that I would like to take the new toy to James. So back in the car and back to Youngstown we went. James was thrilled with the LCD monitor. Sue and I enjoyed our time together on the drive to/from Youngstown.

As I mentioned earlier, Sue mowed the lawn Tuesday (on her day off). I got home and she was passed out on the couch. We had some cheese and crackers for dinner and I was all ready to settle in for some relaxing TV viewing. Then the phone rang. It was Sarah. She was sobbing uncontrollably. Seems that she twisted her ankle while marching on Monday morning and that it was getting worse, not better. It was a little after 8PM and Sue was nonplused about the fact that we were just getting the call about the injury nearly 36 hours after it happened. The adult in charge asked if they had our permission to take Sarah to the emergency room for xrays. Even though we figured it was just a sprain, we gave our permission. Ten minutes later, we were in the car. Again. Heading east. Again. We got to the Grove City Medical Center just as they were discharging Sarah. She started to cry as soon as she saw her mommy. Turns out that her ankle is sprained but that there aren't any broken bones. Thank goodness. We drove Sarah back to Slippery Rock and discussed whether or not she wanted to stay or to come home. She decided to stay at band camp so that she can at least be exposed to the marching routines. We talked it over with the assistant band director and she agreed that Sarah should by all means stay. So Sue and I said our goodbyes and drove back home. We got home at about 1AM. So much for our relaxing evening at home.

So here it is. Wednesday afternoon. And I'm trying to figure out just what Mr. Murphy has in store for me. According to the pattern, we should have to make a trip to Youngstown State around 8PM this evening. I'll keep you posted.

hi gang,

I've read but I'm not up to doing a proper ketchup. I didn't sleep well again last night so i'm tired again  I'm really over this no sleeping thing!!

Everybody stay cool and have a good afternoon. I'm going to check school email, cnn, and then head for the couch. I have a dentist appt tomorrow that will last most of the day so not sure I will be on tomorrow either. I promise I'll return!!

John,
I just PMed you. Here's lots of :goodvibes and :wizard: that the week gets better and that Sarah's ankle is on the mend asap.

Alan - love the Toe Truck! :thumbsup2 :lmao:

Elaine, Lily, and Sherry - the cooler weather is supposed to breeze by my way tomorrow, hopefully it's headed your way as well.

Kimmar - my DH has been in NJ since Wed. - he said it hit 104º yesterday! :faint: That was actual temperature, btw. Back here it was in the high 90s with a heat factor of 99º. :guilty:

Tara - Get some rest girlfriend, you deserve it!

Paula - wow! That's really high for insurance for Chris!! :faint: Is that full coverage??

Yay! Beth is home!! :Pinkbounc

Thanks for the PM, Pam. Your offer to help Sarah is heartwarming and very much appreciated.

Hi all.

Quick post for the day.

Mom jeans with lycra are not the best fashion choice if they're bordering on a size to a size and a half too big :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

They are falling off and I need suspenders!!!!

Consider this the next time you buy mom jeans :rotfl2:

Trip to the library is done and I can stay in my a/c the rest of the day. :)
My crazy boys and their friends are playing football down the street. :faint:

Elaine, glad you enjoyed the fair. I have always wanted to try a deep fried twinkie. They never have them at our county fair. :( Yes, I did spend some time in the pool. A whole half hour of the pool to myself yesterday evening. :)

Beth, good news about your niece. :) Hope your able to stay cool.

Hi Rose Mary! How's things?

Paula, I feel for ya on the car insurance. I am dreading having 4 boys to put on our insurance at one point or another. :earseek:

John, sorry to hear about Sarah's ankle. What a crazy day you had.

Pam, we're supposed to get rain tomorrow and Sat. and it is *supposed* to cool us off. I hope so.

Suzanne, :lmao:

I am totally serious, John. If she needs anything - at any time - just have her call me!

Sherry - I haven't tried that pop because I hate diet pop. :guilty: But it sounds delicious. I might break down and give it a try!

Suzanne - DD talked me into some low on the hips flare jeans from NY and Co. (you are sooooo evil for discussing this store and getting me hooked!) Then I had to toss my granny panties in the trash because every time I sit down - there's 6 miles of big old underwear peeking over the back of my jeans. (Well - I try not to sport the muffin top look - but every once in a while Mt. Belly erupts and spews over the top! )

:lmao: Pam. That's the prob. with low rise......and I refuse to wear thongs. :rolleyes1
So, I found some low rise bikinis at VS that work great. ;)
The pop doesn't really taste like Diet at all. Its really good. They also have a Black Cherry French Vanilla, but I haven't tried that one yet.

Trust me --- I should be sticking with the Granny panties!! :thumbsup2

I have tried the Black Cherry Vanilla one - it was good - but me loves me sugar and the :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc that it gives me!

 oh my....thongs!!! Nope can't do thongs....i hate having my underwear creep up on me and giving me a wedgie....not doing it on purpose...i do wear the binkins tho.

Suzanne.... :lmao: i'll look and see if I have any suspenders!!!

hi gang, had a nap but have a no caffine headache! I tried to move away from the soda today and I think this may be a no-no!!!

back later!!

Wow, y'all were chatty!

Alan, you definitely need to have one. Warm gooey twinkie covered in funnel cake batter... yummmmmmmm....

Wow, John! That is one heck of a day there! Sorry to hear about Sarah's ankle. We had many of those injuries, though mostly during capture the flat :rolleyes1 I am glad she is able to stay for the week and at least watch all that was going on! I hope she heals quickly!

But but but, Pam, I don't *want* the cooler weather! I'm happy with heat :teeth:

Sherry, haven't been able to try that one... I had bad things happen with me and aspertame so I avoid all fake sugars now. Sounds interesting though.
And I am shocked you haven't seen a fried twinkie yet... have you seen the snickers? I think I'll try one next week ::yes::

Suzanne, good call there on the jeans... having been in that type of situation before, I can only imagine :rotfl:

Okay, the truth about undies... I too hate when bikinis ride up my rear and make life uncomfortable... I *swore* against thongs. Then I tried a pair of rio cuts from VS because Luis begged me. Now, they weren't total thongs... but close enough. Honestly it sold me! They don't ride up the way you think and they sure don't feel like I have anything there at all. Very comfy actually. I'm sure you wouldn't believe it! AND, the nice lacy edged ones mean absolutely NO PANTY LINES! You can't see any skin being pushed in or out or anything. I can wear anything w/o worrying. I actaully hate my bikinis now since I don't like the feel of those when they ride up. I only keep some for certain "times of the month" Really, don't knock the thong until you try it. However, for those not willing, they have some cute low rise bikinis and hipsters (half boy short) looking now.

Now that the men are in 7th heaven ;) I'll quit now :p

we should rename the thread....the Yayas go to Victoria Secrets!! :lmao: In a week we have discussed all of our lingerie!! I guess all that is left are the nighties....so I'll start....sweat pants and a t-shirt!! :rotfl: anyone else!!!!

tara

Good point Tara :rotfl:
(at least this time I didn't start it)

though I don't think y'all really want to hear what I sleep in :rolleyes1

Ya FREAK!!! :sad2:

I'll just he did! :teeth:

Yes - I am sure that they are ecstatic with that charming mental image of me in my granny panties!! :rotfl2:

Awww... I bet that isn't a turn off... I can see Alan coming in now with this one ;)

And yep, total freak here... hate the cold, love the heat

My silly Puerto Rican hubby is the total opposite

No deep fried twinkies or snickers around here. :( I am dying to try them too!!
I have tried thongs, just couldn't stand them. Now low rise bikinis and boy shorts (well, most of them) are fine. :)

As for what I sleep in, right now jammie pants and t-shirt. (which annoys Junior to death!! :lmao: ) I get too cold with the a/c going all night. :teeth:

Junior hates the cold, loves the heat. I hate the cold and hate the heat. :rotfl:

Sherry, why do you think I sleep with two or three extra blankets... even in the summer :rolleyes1

I amazingly cannot stand boyshorts or hipsters... the way they hit on my legs I can't stand, or the way they make my tush look :lauging:

I'm back...glad that the conversation didn't halt from my newsflash!

On the undies front, I am seriously ticked that Disney store doesn't carry bikinis anymore-my collection is dwindling, and WDW carries granny panties-at least they're colorful, with sorceror hats, etc. :rotfl: I found that out when I packed too little underwear one trip!

Sleepwear? Well, no comment :teeth: Don't need to give Alan and John more fodder for the innuendos!

John, ouch! to Sarah. I think several of us can attest to those really bad ankle sprains-she needs to rest it up. I did a number on mine senior year, during swim season. I swam all season with it taped up-not pleasant.

Pammycakes! Miss you, girl! Have you gotten that paper out so you can visit with your sistahs? Yes, I vouch for NY&Co being evil :teeth: . They somehow got me to buy my favorite pants in three sizes without me realizing it. The biggest pair is falling off, though. Gotta freecycle some of those.

Kimmar, whatever will you do now that your paper is done? Besides post all those yummy pics?

Bethie, had someone in for the first time-same reason as you-I told her I had it on good authority that she'd be back next month, too! :rotfl:

Paula, you've got hurricane Chris, we've got hurricane Neil! You need a power outage when you're scheduled to work, dear!

Meet the teacher night tonight. Neil's got the same wonderful teacher, and I really liked Kevin's. They did a last minute switch as the form that came home had one teacher, but he's in a different class. I'm happy with the switch-she's just the type that he will respond well to!

Off to do some more work emails, woohoo.

Suzanne
