Its been HOT here, too. Spent alot of time in the pool yesterday. Boys have been in off and on today, too. I think I'm gonna get in later. ::yes:: I just hate to leave my A/C. :teeth: I cut the grass yesterday and got sun burned on my arms. :rolleyes1

Junior went back to work today. :( And he's on afternoons again. :( I really hate when he is on that shift. :rolleyes1

Suzanne, congrats on 7,000 posts. :cheer2:

:wave2: Evening everyone! Really in a bummer of a mood so forgive me. Did ketch up some.
Woo Hoo and congrats to Suzanne on all those posts! I KNOW I'll never catch up to that!
Sherry, loved the pic of you and tink. Your hair is so cute! I'm with you on not wanting to leave the A/C.
Tara, great floor! Sorry about the big boo-boo. I'm awed that you would even consider using any power tools after that! Have fun at sit down dinner!
Hey Beth, sorry you haven't gotten to see POTC yet. Dave is such a sweetie! Can I clone him? ;)
Kimmar: What neck of the woods do you live in? No malls open on Sun? :faint:
HI Thindy :wave2: (Did I say that right?)
Lily: Wish I had a 1-800-# for those kinds of things :teeth:
Elaine: That is so cute about Luis reading the passporter and all. Don't know how you took the heat today!
:wave2: Alan, Amanda, Shep, and everyone else I missed. Sorry my brain is fried. Off to figure out what's for dinner..........
 puckerup: :rose:

Howdy!

Busy day-and it was technically a day 'off'. Went into work to do some organizing and got most of it done. (thanks to Ed helping me once he was done for the day).

Then we left and went to grab some lunch and use my gift card to join Sam's (for work). Ed noticed there was a screw stuck in my front tire, so off to the dealer. I'll have the car back tomorrow-but score two for Ed being at the store with me!

Lunched, then went to Sam's, where the most unhelpful (read: RUDE) employee of that fine organization asked me WHY I was giving her the card (uh, it says 'the gift of membership' on it), couldn't find my company, the owner or our membership number and of course, that was MY FAULT. Then she told me the card expired! (At least boss is paying for it)

I got some confirmation on something I've suspected for a while: Kevin's colorblind. Dark brown is his problem, so I guess the kid does not ever own any brown clothes! :rotfl: Not a huge surprise, since my dad was colorblind, but we thought we dodged that. Gotta call my sis and tell her where to find the online test to check her kids.

Ketchup, get yer ketchup here:
Rosemary, I think 800 of it is from one of the games threads, but yeah, I am a mothy one, lol! BTW, we may be in your neck of the woods in two weeks to help my computer challenged friend.

Sherry, boo on Junior being on afternoons, yay on having a pool to cool of in.

Tara, where did you go to eat?

Alan, lemmee guess-you've been to WalMart recently? :teeth:

Lainey, thawing on the counter is one of those dirty little secrets that everyone does but doesnt admit to it! I've been known to on occasion, but usually in the fridge overnight.

John, thanks for being the voice of reason about the heat-we don't need fried Lainey!

Pammy   Is your daughter enjoying her Beetle? Does it have a sunroof? (the trip to the VW dealer has Ed drooling over a new Jetta)

Well, I'm a sleepy girl, so I'll actually go to bed at a decent hour tonight.

Suzanne

evening gang,

back from dinner and shopping. We went to Olive Garden and it was good but mom's stomach started acting up again and she was in pain so she didn't eat her dinner :( I tried talking her into going to the doctor but she won't do it since it will all be out of pocket. This has been going on for two weeks now.

Then went to BJ's Wholesale Club and they were completely out of ground beef so I have to go back tomorrow and get it when their trucks come in. But I did manage to pick up everything else we needed so otherwise it was a successful night. Now back to the grind of eating at home everyday...blech!

off to try and get the youngins in bed now!! more later,
tara

Hi y'all... back from knitting. We saw three fairly low flying hot air balloons over head at one point. Really cool.

Tired so I am going to bed soon. It's amazing how much cooler it is upstairs now that the bed is clean underneath. That was not a wise thing to do today otherwise

I'll try to do a quick ketchup here

Hmmm... Alan ignored the question and then was nice to me... me thinks he wants to call me a redneck but is skeered to ;)

Tara, glad you got out, but sorry about your mom's stomach. Tell her to go now though... the last thing you want is an ER visit!!!! Those will be far more than anything else she could do.

Sherry sorry that Junior is on afternoons... I hated when Luis had that shift too.

Rose Mary, sorry about the bad mood... come here and vent it out, we'll listen. Oh and Luis is kind of cute... we could clone him too if ya like :p

Kimmar, we still have some blue laws here too. But it has more to do with alcohol sales and just restricted mall times. We're usually open from 10-9 or 10PM, on Sunday it is 12 or 1 to about 6. But still long enough to enjoy ;)

Suzanne, sorry about your day... I hope tomorrow is better. My dad is colorblind as well... we help with his clothes now and then!

I think I got it all... I'm off to bed. Tomorrow I will finish the lawn and folding laundry. How do I stand the heat though? Easily, I love it!!! I can tell that it is rather hot out, but it isn't terrible for me. I'm happiest in 85-95° heat.

Nite all!

I can't believe you love this heat, Elaine. I hate heat.

Suzanne, I am color blind. Really bad. It gets pretty embarrassing sometimes. :rolleyes1

Tara, glad you enjoyed Olive Garden. Sorry to hear about your mom's stomach, though. :(

Good morning everyone... I'm a bit off at the moment. Just talked with a friend of mine from middleschool/HS and her dad died on Sunday. I will wait to hear from her to see if I will move a trip to my grandma's or not. They are doing the arragments today so I should know shortly.

Sherry, I know I am a nut. I love heat!!!! I sleep with three or four blankets currently, so I just don't like being cold.

It looks like my day will be filled with cutting grass and cleaning in the house.

I hope eveyrone has a great day :)

...there are THREE large malls in Paramus (home the the world's FIRST mall - the Garden State Plaza!). As a result, since there are also 3 major highways (Route 4,Route 17, and the Garden State parkway) going right through Paramus, there is always much traffic in that community throughout the day. So, every time an election comes up to have those malls open on Sundays, the residents of Paramus come out in FULL FORCE to vote against it.....can't say as I blame 'em.... :confused3

Morning, all! Another hot one here today--heat advisory as well as poor air quality. In an effort to reduce the amount of air pollution, we have free metro and commuter buses today! Unfortunately, too many people won't take advantage of them. Wish we had a bus out here--I'd take it!

Suzanne, sorry about Kevin being color blind. I've never known anyone so afflicted and you mentioned his problem is dark brown. Does that mean he can see SOME colors? Or that everything looks brown? I just can't imagine! Hope you got some good rest last night! And belated congrats on passing 7,000, you mothy girl, you!

Sherry, you're color blind, too??!!! I'd have never known it! I know how you love pink, can you actually see it?

Tara, good for you going out for dinner, but so sorry to hear mom wasn't feeling well. I agree with Elaine, gotta get her to the doc NOW rather than have to fork out so much more for an ER visit. Bummer on BJs being out of ground beef! Geez, don't they realize what a staple that is for us less-than-wealthy folks??!! Good luck getting it today.

Elaine, enjoy the heat--it's all yours! So you cleaned out from under the bed yesterday? I hope you found good homes for all the dust bunnies. It would be such a shame to just turn them loose ;)

Sounds like you need a  Rose Mary! Hate those mood swings!! Vent all you need--that's what sistahs are for. Keep your sights on Oct/Nov and hooking up with a few Ya Yas at WDW! That should help brighten your day!!

Yoo-hooo!! Paula!! Are you lurking out there again? What's up? Missing you, girlfriend!

Well, the scaled back work load at my store for the past week or so has been nice, but short-lived. We have inventory again (every 6 months) on Sunday the 23rd so we only have this week left to get ready. so what do I find in yesterday's email? The delivery schedule for this week shows we are receiving 2 pallets of merchandise!!! We usually only get one and why they can't hold it at the distribution center until AFTER inventory, I just don't get it!!! Aaarrrrggghhhhh!!!!!!

Speaking of my store....I'd better hit the road. It's my turn to teach Kid's Camp today and I need to pick up the canvas tote bags on the way in. Ya'll have a great day and don't get into any trouble!! Mad love all around and :grouphug:

I'm glad he discovered that you had a screw loose!

errr..I mean a loose screw that had gotten stuck, yeah...that's it.

(Sorry about the Sam's hassle)

Ironically enough, this is from the Ohio State Tractor Pullers Association!

Sorry to hear about your friend's father, though. :(

Beth, hang in there. I hope it gets better.

Good morning Y'all-Y'alls! :wave2:

DRIVING ETIQUETTE FOR REDNECKS:

Dim your headlights for approaching vehicles, even if the gun is loaded and the deer is in sight.
When approaching a four-way stop, the vehicle with the largest tires always has the right of way.
Never tow another car using pantyhose and duct tape.
When sending your wife down the road with a gas can, it is impolite to ask her to bring back beer.
Never relieve yourself from a moving vehicle, especially when driving.
Do not remove the seats from the car so that all your kids can fit in.

Rednecks RULE because:

1. Dinner can always be found on the side of the road.
2. Their belt buckles are considered valid I.D.!
3. With a little corn and water they can distill enough moonshine to quench any dry town!
4. They can spit with absolute accuracy.
5. Nothing compares to the luxury and freedom of a mobile home.
6. Bluejeans and a flannel are always considered formal.
7. At least that rusty Pick-up's bought and paid for.
8. A mayonnaise jar doubles as a handy thermos.
9. A baseball cap is considered a fine substitute for combing your hair.
10.Tractor pulls and auto races serve as a fine meeting place for family reunions

Morning!

Beth, yes, I am color blind. Girls are very rarely color blind, but somehow I am (my dad was color blind) and my brother isn't. :rolleyes1 Three of my boys are color blind for reds. Yes, I can see pink. :) I can see colors, but some throw me off. Like I can't always tell the difference between black/blue/navy blue/and sometimes dark green. If there are different shades of a color, I have problems, too. It gets embarrassing, esp. cuz I'm a girl and I should be able to match clothes. I have to ask Junior alot of times if my stuff or the boys stuff matches. :rolleyes1
Anyway, enjoy your day. Bummer about the extra pallet this week.

Elaine, sorry to hear about your friend's dad.

Hi Alan! Great pic. :teeth:

Kimmar, too funny! :lmao:

Boys and I are heading to Sam's Club (sorry about your probs with them yesterday, Suzanne) sometime this afternoon after Junior leaves for work. Also have laundry to do and some invitations to get out.

 Hi everyone - remember me????

Last week was a whirlwind....my godfather (mom's brother and only living member of her family) and 2 cousins (my only ones) were here for the week from Cleveland.

Lets see the week consisted of :
Shopping
eating
More shopping
***** break in the action ***** tetnus shot for Chris
saw Pirates on Saturday
went to an all day/night Country Music Fest on Sunday.

So with all that fun I hope you all got the telepathec messages that I was thinking of you!!!!!

Details - lots of mall shopping - I got great deals on jewelry on Filenes - went to the outlets - I broke down and finally chose a "scent" - I have been looking for perfume for so long - ended up with Polo Blue....of course the fragrance consultant at Nordstroms had me try the new Tommy Bahama saying it was comparable....I think not - I smelled like I bathed in grapefruit juice !!! No thank you!!
I was supposed to spend the day in Newport on Friday with my uncle and cousins but was unable to so my dad went......this leads me to the Chris story.....
Seems as though on Wednesday he was doing elevation work on bridges - had to hold a metal rod to the underside of the bridge to get a reading - etc - well when he moved the rod a large piece of rusty metal dislodged itself and proceeded to fall on Chris head (I know what you are thinking why wasn't he wearing a hard hat - they weren't wearing them because it was too hot he says - DUUH!) - so I guess it knocked him momentarily unconscious and cut up his back......but of course - being a "guys guy" he just came too and proceeded to finish working once they cleaned up the blood - can you believe that????? I called the doctor on Thursday and they had him go in for the tetanus shot Friday morning- cuts were all superficial so they said if anything was inside it would work itself out. Did I mention there is never a dull moment with my son?????

I lost my day off on Saturday due to a staff member being out sick and of course no one else offered to work - but I did get to spend the afternoon with my uncle and cousins - they took me out to lunch and to see Pirates - LOVED IT....should have watched the first one again before going - but loved it nontheless!!!
The travellers left on Saunday morning and took my dad with them - he will be there for 2 weeks.
Shortly after they left Jeffrey and I also left to to to Coutry Fest....Biggest concert I've ever been to - it was at Gillette Stadium - man - they tailgating was unreal!!! There were 5 performers - started at 3:30pm and ended at 10:30pm - of course after that did after show tailgating to wait for the parking lot to clear - didn't get home till 2:30am!!!! What crazy kids we are!!

Today is my husbands birthday and tomorrow is our anniversary!! He hates "birthday attention" but I think I will still get him a Carvel cake!!

Sorry this was an "all about me post" - I'm reading fuiiously to ketchup now - more later......

Happy Birthday to your DH!

Shhhhh...don't tell him I said it.

I hope Chris is okay, and I really hope he doesn't get in trouble for it.

I've worked on different sites with different levels of safety inspectors around. With some of them, that could have gotten Chris fired and his foreman chewed out.

The silliest thing I had to do was work on a site that required safety footwear at all times.

That isn't a bad rule of course, but I was hired for a summer program they had that used college students. I drove a tractor and bushhogged the 40+ acre site. It was rare that I was in the industrial parts of the plant.

So I purchased steel toed sneakers. :teeth:

Good morning...uh good afternoon all!...and Kimmar where were YOU on Sunday????

Yes, I am Judie disguised as Cindy...or should I say Thindy but without the glasses...Lasix works great ;) you know!!!

Elaine, I LOVE Ohio! I was there 3 years ago(Cleveland & Cedar Point), and then again last summer(Cincy)!! You also have a lot of good amusement parks!!!
