my stair well is done!! Well, the down banister (split level so there is a set of up stairs and a set of downstais) is done and all the wooden risers have been clear coated and have a very distressed look to them not quite sure why people pay good money for the distressed look when I'd be perfectly happy happy to have a fresh never been touched look!!

Next weeks job...finish sanding the upstairs banisters and rails and get them painted!! woohoo!!

Pam i'm sorry I told your tales...I promise I won't do it again!!

okay i'm off to find another thing to sand. Think I'm gonna try one of my cabinet doors and see what it looks like if I do it in a clear poly.

Hey Ya'll!! Just got home from work--I got to put in some time at our other Virginia store. It's about an hour's drive south, so I've been on the clock since shortly after 8 this morning! Whew!! Long, dull, boring day, there. Trafffic on the highway was bumper to bumper at about 10 mph, but "traffic" in the store was even slower. Talked to the folks at my own store and they've been hopping since the doors opened this morning! Crazy what a difference a few miles make!!

Tara!!!! You're still workin' away with that nasty owie?!! How's it feeling? I hope you aren't trying to run any electric tools whilst taking the loopy meds.

Pam--I haven't heard from Karen, and she was supposedly right here in my neck of the woods!! Whaddya mean you don't have a stripper pole?! I thought that's where you learned to dance!!!

Sherry, I LOVE the hair!!! And Tinkerbell is a beauty, too!!

Hey Bethie...the owies finger is doing better. I still cannot use it but it doesn't hurt as bad. I am keeping the special pads on it for a few more days before i let it go ala natural! It looks really nasty and will for quite a while.

Had dinner here....left over shepards pie and instant butterscotch pudding. yummy!!!

off to watch the **** tube for a while!! later

And, no, with a commute of 4.3 miles, I don't hit much bumper-to-bumper on a daily basis since I have no reason to go anywhere near the highway. Glad your DH made it home safely, despite the traffic.

Tara, I'm glad to hear your finger is better. You're gonna have a nasty scar, now, too, huh? Maybe it will match the one I have on my right forefinger! Yes, that wood floor looks tremendous and you have every right to be proud of your work! Slow down and take it easy, though, you're makin' the rest of us look like real slugs!

Mt. laundry is down to one more load and I'll pull the linens off the bed tomorrow. Hoping I can get a good night's sleep tonight cuz we plan to go see the pirates tomorrow and I don't want to fall asleep just cuz I'm sitting in the dark! It's happened before......

I'm confused. Why do you have to clean the carpet. Don't you like the coffee smell??? I did the same thing recently and, since I have dark carpets in my Saturn, I just sopped up the coffee with a napkin that I found in the back seat and then just left my car in the sun to dry.

Lily - You have much better things to do than shampoo your car's carpets.

You are so right I do have much better things to do. Coffee had cream in it and I was afraid of spoiled milk taking over the predominant fragrance. So there was garden hose and shop vac to the car. It is so hot here the good thing is it dried quickly.

Tara, I can't believe you are still working away with your injury and all. Bionic hand implant maybe that you didn't mention? I hope you finish your project in time to enjoy some of your summer break.

Elaine, glad to hear of your Grandma's 95th. Prayers and blessings to her.

Beth, I hope you won't have to be driving to that other store too often. Seems like the one you are at has the best driving option!

Pam, smart gal to not go out in the heat for work. Glad DH made it home.

We got to see PotC Friday! It was fun. Thanks for the tip about staying through the end. Today did not turn into much. I had hoped to get more done. Too hot, too many interruptions. Dogs bathed. Laundry half complete.

My mechanical ability in the car repair has just been expanded! I am proud to report that I am now qualified to change a windshield wiper. In particular I have been trained in the passenger side wiper. DH took the driver side. Aren't we a romantic pair. Together we made my wiper change complete! I also got my heater/air conditioner fan repaired. That was NOT on my list of things to do. Went to the parts store with DH. I managed a small attempt at taking off a screw, then thought we had a young buck in the house who would be better suited to crawling up under there to get at them things. He managed with little difficulty! See I can manage a repair. 1-800-get-the-son.

Off to sleep I go...

Feeling pretty good now that I got some sleep! Although I did wake up at 6 with a headache, took some aleve and went back to sleep.

Plans for today are the zoo with Ed's mom and sis. His sister passed a year ago today-felt it was appropriate to do something together.

afternoon gang,

done nothing but lay around today. I decided I was resting today!!

Bionic finger??? nope just thick band-aids and one stiff nuckle joint. I am keeping this finger pointed straight all the time and so while I'm working I am keeping the finger out of the way. I have however, smacked it into the wall because it was sticking atraight out and I tried to sand it a few times :teeeth: The good thing is that I'm right handed so most of the heavy duty work is done with that hand.

I looked at it this morning and was able to wash some of the blood from under my nail withou going ballistic so it is an imporovement. I'd post a picture but i'm not sure it would be appreciated!!

okay off to watch xome more tv and do nothing.
