Morning!!

I know I don't have as much time to post anymore, esp. now with the boys home for summer. But I always think of all of you and keep you in my prayers. I cherish the friendships I've made here with all of you.

I am going to visit my grandma today. I'm kind of afraid of what I am going to see. :( The tests show she has high sodium counts and now they think her sugars may be high too. My mom and my uncle are going to the nursing home tomorrow and they are going to discuss putting her in hospice. :(

Beth, after church we came home and did rotissiere (sp?) chicken on the grill. And we hung out in the pool. That was what Junior wanted. :teeth: The boys bought him a little hand held massager (he's been having neck and back pains) and a Dolce & Gabanna cologne set. :)

John, how sweet that Sarah & James actually hugged. I know James will do just fine. He's a great kid. :)

Tara, sad to see you go. :( Hopefully we'll cross paths.

Elaine, what color bathing suit did you get? I hate bathing suit shopping but I did manage to find one pretty quick this year. :bounce:

Betty, good to see you stopping in again. Sounds like you all had a nice day yesteray. :)

Send lots of quick selling vibes out for my neighbor's house. :teeth: If I could do backflips, I would've been doing them all the way down the house when I saw that sign. :lmao:

 Here we go again. Not tryin' to be nasty or pick on anyone, but face it, most of us have lives outside of the DIS and we just can't be at our computers 18 out of 24 hours a day. Get over it. Just because we don't post doesn't mean we don't care nor does it mean we're in a snit because we think somebody is making it all about them. We're just too dang busy to stop and talk. I know I end up late every morning I'm due at work at 9 when I take time to post. And that's cuz I don't get up a half hour earlier so I WILL have time to write. I could, but I'm at an age where I really don't want to give up 1/2 hour of shut eye--for anybody! And, yes, I resent it when I have to get up extra early to be at church early on Sundays when we ring bells. So it's not just the DIS.

End of MY sermon.

This is my feeling too. I've been so depressed since the other night about not coming back. I personally don't notice if people have time to mention everything everyone else has talked about and I certainly don't get upset if someone doesnt' mention me. I enjoy reading about what other people are saying and doing.

I honestly don't want to leave but i don't want to feel like I'm going to be judged for what I say or don't say. I have enough people in real life that do that I don't need to feel it here.

Quite honestly I haven't even ventured out since yesterday since it made me sad everytime I startd to post some place else. I kept thinking I should be posting it here and not there.

Although i have to say my mom has enjoyed me not being on the computer so much! She actually has someone to talk to!

I'll be back later.
tara

Lainey, I am sorry that you have been on the receiving ends of a lot of PMs asking you to "fix" things. I'm also sorry that it has driven you to the giving up point.

Threads, like life, tend to ebb and flow.

I used to live next door to Eb and Flo btw, they're good people ::yes::

Anyhoo, since there was a more thorough ketchup done a post or two back, I will just say good morning and offer some moon pies to all who want them. :)

Still, I think most of us like each other here, and feeling ignored or overwhelmed happens sometimes. Let's all hang in there, k?

Morning, all.

Quiet house-boys had to be to daycare by 8 and I don't have to be to work until 12. I suppose I should be cleaning!

Tara, :grouphug: . You're guaranteed to make me smile or laugh with the exploits in your life!

Betty, great way for the menfolk to spend father's day!

Sherry, that sounds like my kind of day there! Nothing better than chillin by the pool!

Bethie, I'm with you on the sleep thing there. Woohoo on Dave's new laptop!

John, thank you for summing up what many could not put into words without emotion getting the better of us.

Every time I type out what I have to say, I end up deleting it, because *somebody* will get offended by what I have to say. Depending on what I say, different people will probably take it personally.

After the BS I dealt with (and I'm still dealing with) when my mom passed away, the number one lesson that I've come away with is that life is too darn short to argue over little things. The DIS is my escape when I have to forget about stuff like "siblings who will yammer on and on to distant relatives that my step dad's house is willed to her (its not, I've seen the papers) and she's 'owed' all this stuff'.

I look forward to coming here every day. I don't want to worry that I didn't ketchup for everyone. If I don't, it's not because I don't care about what's going on with others-it's probably ADD striking again. If I have slighted anyone, or offended, this is my blanket apology. I'm SORRY.

Suzanne

Alan,

I'll take one of those Moon Pies. I've got the RC Colas to go with them! :teeth:

rclogo1.jpg

Moon Pies and RC Cola. Yikes. It reminds me of my trip into Cracker Barrel yesterday. Way too many vintage treats to tempt my palette, especially anything and everything with coconut. Must....stay....away....from....Cracker....Barrel

John,

You can have all my coconut, I won't mind! I've gotta head over to CB for Valomilks. Neil saw them on Unwrapped, then the easter bunny gave him some and he LOVES them.

If you want the recipe for the hashbrown casserole, let me know. I have it! :cool1:

Making a post for the day and I might have to step back... not just because of this, but because I need to from the DIS in general :)

The biggest thing I will say, is I am sorry if anyone has felt slighted here. I am very much sorry I said anything as well. Like I said, a few said it, and at least one who said it I don't think is overly sensitive in general. But in the end, it doesn't matter. Suzanne is totally right, life is too short, and you need to do what you need to do to make yourself happy.

I absolutely LOVE this place. I know many years ago, a divide happened based on things I don't even understand anymore, and I felt like I had to take this place on to make sure it didn't falter and die out.

It lasted at least three years so far.

I'm impressed... and it lasted because of those posting there.

I'm lucky to have my life where I have high speed access. I can pop in for a minute here and there to see what is going on. I do sometimes worry that no one likes to pop in here, but I AM overly sensitive. I know it, and I trust y'all to keep me in line when I am ;) Otherwise this place is a great place to go... for support, laughs, to give support, to just hang out. Kind of like an extended family here. And on this thread there is such a variety of people... ever take a moment to see who all has stopped in?

I do now and then to remind me of the great people around here... either those who still post, or whom have added to everything in great ways. I'm about to do cheesy, but hush, just go with it. And remember what I say is from my heart... it might sound like I gloss over things but, take it how I mean it

Nancy will never be forgotten for her recipes, movie reviews and getting me totally sucked into BaB.

Kimmar posts the hottest pics of Orlando Bloom... though she has done Apolo and Johnny Depp, I'll forgive her of that ;) I think we need more Orli though!

Tara... okay she cracks me up with all her great stories!!! I swear that alone would keep me here (and I hope you never stop sharing them).

Pam is another amazing story teller. She just wows me with the way she writes!

Suzanne is a great balance... she is both a great sensitive friend, yet really practical. I know she will tell it like it is yet not be mean or too soft about it. Plus who could forget such a great partner in crime when it comes to e-rides at WDW!

Lily, well we still have to get more ice cream. But you have such a dry sense of humor... such good wit to you that I think you are just awesome to hang out with.

Sherry... besides totally amazing me with four boys so close in age, you are just a blast to hang out with. Whether in person or online, I just like chatting with you and hanging out.

Well Alan... I'll try to think of something good for later...
okay in all honesty, I am lucky to have you as a friend

Paula, the same goes for you! I know I can go to you and chat with you about nearly anything. I love our chats we have most mornings. You are such a great mom and add so much to here!

Kimmie... love ya twit ;)

Karen, you add such great things to this thread. The stories from WDW are awesome and you are another with such great witt! I miss that you aren't here to talk about your piano lovin' ways more!

Bethie... we have a good long history together. When I think of WDW, I can't imagine trips without you. My last one was just not the same. I am just thankful that you are still around. I was worried when you quit your last job (which was a huge woo hoo for you) that you wouldn't be able to get on at all. I *always* smile when you pop in.

John, I feel similarly about you. Not quite since we never shared a room like Beth and I have ;) but seriously, WDW is fun and I sure missed out on the cookout this year! I used to never make plans that Sunday because of that cook out. But you are always welcome here with your witty remarks. Plus Alan needs a male friend.

Which means Todd & Amanda... we miss you both too. Todd for your witty ways and Amanda for your good heart. You are a fun pair to have around. I'm sure Sherry & Junior agreee with that!

Rose Mary, sweetie... I know you have had a lot you go through, but again I smile when you come in.

Liz, your wit is missed as well. You always had great long stories to share. Plus I miss hearing about that evil SIL ::yes::

I have to cut this short since I need to go shower and take a friend to the doctor (she can't drive)

But Betty, I love you too...

Tony, Kristy, Auriel, Tina, Dave, Deena, Caroline and even SSB, Apolo, Beccy, Lou, Debster, Bonnie, Karen and MJ have all added in on this thread as well in such great ways.

In the end, I am always happy to see anyone here... my thought that I will have to follow will be...

post when you want to and how you want to... hang the rest

with that I am off for a while... and the only change for me... I can't feel responsible for this thread any longer. I know many of you love it for what it has been and what it will be... hang on to that since I feel similar as well

thank you all for all you've done for me, this thread and each other... I appreciate all who are here and all who have been in at least their own special way.

Beautiful sentiments, Lainey.

And I will assume that is not a eulogy for the thread, but a releasing the reins on your part and saying that the thread is "on its own"

Of course, you are probably trying to put the reins on Orli or Antonio, but that's another story. :rolleyes1

My family has deserted me today, btw. Even though we were just as Six Flags over Georgia a few weeks ago, Mrs. AA and the girls have gone back.

A good friend (with season passes) has to drive to Atlanta to pick up her boys (close friends with my girls) who have been visiting with grandparents.

She thought since she was there anyway, she would pop in for a half day or so at the parks.

She has coupons for a great price for guests so my folks are with her.

So who's up for pizza or take out for supper? ;)

::yes:: And with that we should move back to our regular yaya dising and take it one day at a time.

It's sad because this morning before I came here I actually had to pick up the phone and call a girl friend and tell her about my kid! I hated the feeling that my stories will have no outlet! hehehe

Elaine... and this too shall pass!!

John...congrats on surviving your first one off to college! That is a big accompolishment to you and DWSue!!

Alan...were Ebb and Flow good neighbors? I always heard that they just came and went as they pleased :confused3

Sherry....wah i want a pool!! Oh wait I did buy a blow up pool that said its not for anyone over 110 pounds :furious: but I guess if I don't put my big butt on the slide i should be okay!!

Beth...I'm scrapping on Friday!! woohoo!! I'm going to do my white water rafting picts too. I only have disney stuff so i'm going to have to buy some water stuff :( oh well :teeth:

Suzanne...I still think we should open a thread for odd kids...not ODD kids!! hehehe

Kimmar...congrats on your master's stuff! I know I was thrilled when I finished mine!! The fact that I was fat and pregnant might have had me more happy than usual!

Nancy...so was Vegas like WV for me...what happened in Vegas really stayed in Vegas? Did yo win any money? What ya cooking today?

Betty...sounds like a great father's day.

ugh! I'm tired now...Yesterday, I cut, weedwhacked, and mulched the front yard and then mowed and partially weedwhacked the back yard. Today Im supposed to finish weedwhacking the back yard and I need to pull all the weeds! I really dont have the energy to do it!!

Okay, gotta go look productive to my family!! Back later!!

 I think you did enough yesterday to be productive for two days at least!

But then again, I'm lazy. ;)

When DD Sarah was ordering her food, she struggled to pick three side dishes. She asked "What is hashbrown casserole?" I convinced her to order it. She only managed to finish half of it. We took the rest home. Now I have to wonder if either she or Sue will finish it off at lunchtime or if I'll have a yummy treat when I get home from work. If not, I guess I'll either have to take you up on the recipe offer or drive the three miles to the nearest Cracker Barrel.

:rotfl: I feel like I'e done enough for a week or two. I'm too dang old for this.

I'm in an OCD mood so I can't stop until it is all done! Nothing like pulling creeping crawling viney stuff up by hand out of the back yard. I pulled up a full lawn bag's worth and still have a ton to do. I've tried to mow it, I've tried to poison it, I've tried to scream at it....to no avail...it ain't leaving!!

I was slightly productive in the last hour. I fixed hot dogs for the boys and chickn patties for myself (I had made pancakes for breakfast so mom had left over pancakes for lunch) for lunch. Then I put Ethan down for a nap, sent Jarrod outside for "recess" (I told him he had to stay outside for at least an hour! Long enough for me to get a nap too! :teeth: )

John...don't know what hash brown casserole is but glad you all like it. I'm not a hash brown kinda gal. I like my potatoes either in french fry form or smothered in butter and sour cream.

Okay, really going to leave now!! heheheh yeah righ!

tara

John,

I'll get you the recipe when I get home-that was the 'hooray' recipe in the cookbook my SIL gave us "Restaurant Secret Recipes Revealed".

Tara, these are shredded potato and onion with colby cheese, and a bunch of other yummy stuff. Now that I've got the recipe, I'm going to crumble bacon in them, too.

Wow, my mother has tried all of that with my hair!

When I order at Cracker Barrel, the first thing I ask is whether or not they still have the hashbrown casserole since they tend to run out during the day.

That's good stuff ::yes::

Suzanne, I see those books sometimes; do they usually taste fairly accurate?

I mean the finished product of course, not the book itself ;)

For me, it's not a trip to Cracker Barrel unless I order the fried okra. On Sunday my DW Sue ordered that for me. I had a half pound bacon cheeseburger. I also ordered onion rings to go with my fries. And that Stewart's Orange Cream Soda really hit the spot. It was a really good Father's Day. Burp. (Pardon me)

Before I move on for the day and try to ketchup later...

I missed a couple things... (this was all previously lost due to the server busy sign)

I have had many wonderful trips with many of you. Unforgetable ones are DL in 2004, WDW trips and one awesome Chicago trip. I've had great roomies with Bethie (more than once... we learned 9 am return flights are early!!!!), Kimmie (you saved that trip for me), Betty (champagne and pizza will never be forgotten) and Nancy (I had THE time of my life in DL with you!)

So there last mushy stuff... I forgot a lot more I know, but I'm sorry I did that all in a rush!!!

And now I will say nothing more, but pass me some RC cola and moon pies... I need it

Sorry - We're out of moon pies. You'll have to have some fried okra and hashbrown casserole instead. And Stewarts Orange Cream Soda.
(I'm stuck in a Cracker Barrel rut)

This is unrelated, but may I brag on my wife?

I would like to share my Father's Day gifts with y'all :)

First of all, they presented me with this highly desireable T-shirt

ee6f6793.jpg

And then they gave me a picture frame. Actually it is two 5X7 leather frames hinged together to sit on my desk. (Now I need to clean my desk  )

The pictures in the frames are:

ee6f6d9a.jpg
ee6f6c94.jpg

They recorded their voices on the back of the frame so I if press the glass on Abigail's picture I hear her say "Happy Father's Day" and if I press Lela's she says "Jesus loves you" :)

Some of the other pictures they took that day can be found here

Are they good, or what? :teeth: I'm a lucky man ::yes::

Okay, I really wanted to stay away... mostly because after this afternoon I am out of time...

why no moon pies??? My Cracker Barrel sells them!!!!!

After all this food talk I am hungry... though I shouldn't eat because I had DQ for a late lunch :rolleyes1

I guess I'll have to wait on the recipe from Suzanne, but hopefully Tara has a few hot dogs or something left over :p

Alan, you can brag on your wife, but you did have a teeny part in those kids of you too!

With that I need to run... thank you all for being around... love ya all bunches!
