Good morning y'all! Still working on MP3 stuff, but given I have 2000 songs to convert, it is going to take a while

I'm about to go in the shower so we can head over to the mall to pick up a sports coat for Luis. After that I get to decide if I want to bake cookies or go to the cook out with store bought stuff

No matter what, I need to look my best today... an ex of Luis will be there and I like to show off all the weight I lost to her

Yeah, mean, but there is a lot of bad blood between us, and truthfully this is my way of dealing with it w/o losing my mind

LOL, Tara, that is exactly what I was thinking! It's not like I forgot it, I honestly had it in my head that the 25th would be the night of the show, and not dress rehearsals. Once I do that, I'm messed up forever. So I remembered, but had the wrong dates for the month in my head. Trust me, I rarely look at calendars so that is way too possible for me

Good luck with the baseboard though! I have a troublesome one in the bathroom I will deal with when we paint it. The others are staying on as I paint as they've been painted over as well.

Well then Karen, I think you need to go and make a nice long trip... meet the family as well as come hang with us at MNSSHP! Right Beth?

Howdy. We're headed over to WDW this evening for dinner with the friends at Cape May. Joyce was kind enough to share her cold, now Ed and I have it. We'd seen them Sunday, she called us Tuesday to say she had one, and then Ed noticed it on Thursday and I woke with it yesterday.

The electronic devices are conspiriing against me today. iPod was weird yesterday and the laptop dongle is being a PITA. I think I need to go on eBay and find another one. It'll be connected, but won't realize it is. Battery was dead, cord was connected but I couldn't boot up. Had visions of having to buy another laptop-not happy. With work, having the laptop is a need(even though they've mentioned buying an extra for the new store for my use).

Lainey, knock em dead tonight. I know what you mean about looking great for the ex-although I did it to the ex husband. The look on his face was priceless!

Nancy, doing the same thing today, to an extent. Not much furniture to move-two desks and a computer. Hopefully, yours will get done quickly.

JRKaren, I second Bethie-stay for a week and a half, lol!

Bethie, how's things today? Catching up on all your fave sci fi and relaxing on the couch?

Tara, my boss (in VA) made a comment like your brothers. I know how much that can make the blood boil. Glad he's doing the right thing by helping out.

Seeing how Tara's had some success, and others on the DIS keep mentioning their earnings, I'm starting to prepare for my own yard sale. As I clean out the office, I've got labelled bins in the garage-sorting stuff into it. Now I just need to go talk to the HOA prez and suggest a community yard sale this month!

Well - Alyssa completed her first week as a "9 to 5" person. She also got her grades - 3.6 - she wasn't happy thought she did better - I don't think she'd told Jeffrey yet. Surprisingly her room is just about organized from everything she moved home. Sadly I feel that our relationship has changed since I wrote her that letter - she is acting different towards me. I'm not sorry for saying what I did.
I went with Chris to his counsellors appt last night - it was a very good session - I brought up my concerns regarding school - his counsellor says Chris needs to work on his integrity. This is a tough weekend for Chris - it's the 2nd anniversary of one of his very good friends death in a car accident (drag racing) - Chris remains friends with the driver that survived the crash. He actually brought it up briefly in his counselors appt last night and was crying - so if you have a moment think a good thought fo Chris and his friends. On a good note the company that Jeffrey works for has offered Chris a full time job for the summer - working on the surveying crew. He and I discussed it last night and have decided that it might be in Chris best interst to work fulltime for the summer rather than go to summer school.
Not much else going on with me - both kids are out and about - Jeffrey is going squid fishing with his brother tonite so I'll have the house to myself. No other plans for the weekend.

No time to play... in and out again. Found some skirts... short but not too short at Gap. So I picked up three in different colors and they will be my "in lieu of shorts" outfits. Kind of casual, but I can also dress them up a bit.

Suzanne, I hope you have fun out! I know I'm terrible being that it is Luis' ex, but she tried to get a restraining order slapped against me... long story on that one, but she's serious a bit psychotic! One of those, she seriously had to go into therapy for a long time before I was even willing to talk to her again.

Why not stay a week Karen? Can you get that week and the weekend we are there to overlap some?

Paula, so much to say to you with your post... but know that I'll definitely keep Chris in my prayers

Hi gang,

whew! I'm one tired puppy. We have painted 3 walls out of four and a hall way (3 more walls). The color is darker than I thought it would be but it is gorgeous! i have pictures to post later.

The baseboards are a no go on the refinishing. I sanded one part for over an hour and then put on a clear coat and it brought out all the "vintage" look of it so I'm going to have to replace them. However, I'm going to go cheaply and not do the wall that is going to have all the furniture up against it! I know I'm bad but I'll fix it later when we get ready to move out!!

We are going to have to do the kitchen a lighter shade than the dining room. But I think it will look beeeutiful!!

Oh Elaine, I wish I could stay a week in October, but I just can't justify that long of a trip five weeks before my December trip.

Tara, I ran into Scotty's brother at the bar one night, and he said to me, "You should just move down here."

I can't remember if I posted it here or not, but some of the piano players were commenting that they thought I'd be back before December, and Scotty said he was going to try to have his band do a concert so I have an excuse to go back

Karen, have you gone much in Oct? If not, I think you can justify it by saying you need to check out the F&WF more and the MNSSHP I still don't think 5 weeks is that big of a deal. I've done some trips fairly close together. I just go when I feel the call!

Sherry, what did you make us for supper?

I'm off... I went dancing after the cookout and had a blast. Luis is home and done with the show. Tomorrow will be a day of relaxation (I sure hope)

Last night, we were walking up the entrance to WL to meet with Joyce and Tim and we find three of our close friends, just sitting on the benches. What are the odds? That said, we almost felt like we weren't supposed to find the two who came down from MD for the weekend-dunno. They were happy to see us, that's for sure, but it seemed strange.

I'm realistic about this stuff-I'm at a different place in my life and what free time I have, I spend with my family. I'm not a solo package. Still bums me a bit that I didn't get a phone call as soon as the trip was booked, like the other friend obviously did. The lack of a phone call says a lot.

We parted company to head over to Cape May and had a nice evening. First time there-I expected more seafood variety, but it was really good. More non seafood choices, so anyone held back from it thinking it's a clambake, don't let that title keep you from it. Prime rib and bbq ribs that were deeeelish! I loved the clams, even if they were itty bitty. It just meant I got more of them. The kids had a great time, we parents had a great time and we're looking forward to their return next August.

I'm going to work out some of my frustrations on getting stuff out of the office.
