Too quiet again :(

*sigh* I probably am not in the mood for this

Tara, when are you going rafting?

The friend is late, so now we are starving. I'm kind of beyond annoyed at this whole thing now. Supposedly can't afford a hotel, but going on a trip to Chicago after a trip to Maryland after this. Yeah... not so happy friend here.

Sorry, Elaine. Boards are moving toooooo slow again :(

Tara, The Unit is on tonight....2 episodes, at 9 and 10.
But I need to watch SVU at 10 :(

Evening, all.

Tired person here, so I won't be too long.

We have friends heading down to stay at WLV for a week, they plan to arrive Sunday. Originally, they'd booked the trip for December because they'd wanted to see the Holiday decorations. I thought nothing of the change in plans. I guess I should have-because they're PREGNANT with number three!

This is the couple that met at my wedding-Tim's been Ed's friend since they were three, and I've known Joyce for almost 30 years (!), she was my brother's friend first.

I was rendered speechless-her son is the cutest little guy and she says that cute face told her she needed another one. I'm really happy for them, then at the same time, I'm thinking 'Yikes, bye sedan, hello minivan'! Guess it's happening to the right person, lol.

Works going well-8 hour day today. I experimented with some desserts-we allow our guests to make a free dessert when they're in a private group. This month's takes a long time to make (choc. cheesecake brownies), so we've been making them ahead. I played with the extra cheesecake batter, fresh raspberries and puff pastries. The cheesecake blossoms were really good.

Alan, you're headed for a beating the next time you see Lainey, you know that, right? :rotfl2:

Tiara, knowing Alan, you'll have to settle for a picture of a pop up-and it'll have holes the size of Rhode Island in the screens.

Paula, hope MIL is doing well. :grouphug: Sounds like you need a nice lovely beverage, some chocolate and a big bubble bath with your favorite author's new book.

Lily, how are you feeling today? Is the doc giving you time to recover from this procedure before the next?

Lainey, yay your Dad's back in town. Thanks for sending us some rain-want MORE!

Nancy, hope Dave and his luggage both make it home on time tonight. Planning on seeing the new Omen? Got a countdown on Dead Man's Chest yet?

Bethie, helloooooooo? How did surgery go?

Need to post a picture. In my busy frenzy last Thursday, I went and got my hairs cut-short. Very short, not as short as Paula's, more like Bethies (w/o the curlies). Still getting used to putting my hands back to pull my hair together and there's none there!

Think I'm hitting the sheets here soon. I'm not scheduled in store tomorrow, but I do need to find some staff. Anyone wanna move to Florida and work for me? Yummy food for your freezer, lol. Little rain. Homeowner's insurance that's higher than NY!

Suzanne

Suzanne...I'd love to come work for you but I'm afraid it still wouldn't pay enough to support my brood!! Good luck to you!! That desert sounds good! yummy!!

Bethie...hows the knee holding up?? I was messed up, I thought your surgery was the 25th! I'm sucha dork!!

Alan...a picture of a pop up would be nice too!!

Elaine...rafting is June 9-11th. I'm not so much afraid of the water as I am the hills around us. Take a look at the WV quarter and you'll see a BIG bridge...we have to drive over that to get to the whitewater below. ugh!

Found out today that Astrid can't go. It seems that a gf of hers has decided to have her wedding that day  It is an eye roll situation because this is the 3time it has been rescheduled. The last time it was set for Astrid's 30th birthday and she gave up a trip to NYC to be here for the wedding (she was helping to plan it and act as their mistress of ceremonies or some such nonesense). So Astrid was peeved and so Astrid told her which weekends she was busy and now the girl goes and plans it for the only weekend in june that Astrid has plans....ugh .

Everyone is in bed here. Mom fell asleep on the couch around 7 and then I gave the munchkins their baths and put them in bed and now I have the house to myself!! wow it is quiet when they are all sleeping!

Nancy...I set up the dvr for the unit and svu. Have fun watching SVU. I love that show!!

Paula...glad that MIl is doing well. What did you buy with your gift card? Keep stopping by and keep us posted!!

Oh, and I painted my piggies tonight for sandal weather. I now have trampy red toes!! :p

See ya'll tomorrow!

tara

I thought Beth's surgery was the 25th also

Sounds like you are having fun, Suzanne.

I love SVU also......::yes::
I can only tape one :( that is just the way it works here with our system.

going to watch NCIS in a few....not going to like the outcome. Already heard from the east coasters.

Nancy, amazingly the boards are moving okay for me. I must be lucky when I try. They were super slow earlier today though. I should probably give up on the DIS, but I am hooked

I need to get to bed, but...

I though her surgery was on the 25th as well? If it wasn't sorry Bethie, I messed up. If it is, good luck :)

since Eileen is here and I need to get to sleep so I can wake up early to do the riddle, I'll just say 'nite all!

and Suzanne, you can tell that twit boy Alan, that he is in for an *** kicking... though I am still not speaking to him ;)

I promise to really ketchup tomorrow :wave2:

Rise and shine everyone :sunny:

Okay, don't hurt me, I hate morning people like that myself ;)

Nancy, sorry that you already heard the ending due to the eastcoasters. Or were you looking to read it? I just realized today how little TV I actually watch. I had never even heard of some of the shows you two were talking about :rolleyes1

Speaking of shows, did anyone see the preview for House next week? OMG!!!!!

Wow Suzanne, congrats for your friends!!! I wish them all teh best and I hope they have fun at the VWL!!!! I would hate to have to get a minivan as well! I want to avoid one of those at all costs (no offense to those with one, just not me)

Tara, I must be in a grumpy mood, but I'm not sure a last minute wedding where the bride knew I couldn't make it would be enough for me to cancel my plans like that ;) Good luck with the bridge though. I don't mind them as long as the sides are up high enough. I am not afraid of heights, just falling from those heights :p

Nost sure what I will be up to today. I am tired and want more sleep. I never sleep well at all when we have people over. I didn't fall alseep until almost 1 and I woke up at 5 or so. Fortunately I don't think I have anything I have to do today.

HI all....... jsut a quick note - leaving shortly to move the college girl home - this year sure flew by!!

She got her acceptance to the University of Rhode Island yesterday so she will be going there next year.

Kohls wa a bust - I wanted jewelry and nothing good was on sale. So I proceeded to Target and bought 2 new CD's - Tim McGraw's new greatest hits and Dierks Bentley.

*** FIL reports that MIL was still groggy yesterday but doing OK - they have to watch her closely due to heart issues.

Suzanne - beverage - book - bath - sounds good!!

Have a good day everyone - hugs all around!!

Morning, all! Day off from the store, so I'm off to do some bookkeeping shortly. Been busy getting projects done for this month's feature set, even tho' we aren't really supposed to be doing them at home "off the clock". Unfortunately, there simply aren't enough hours budgeted for us to do them all during working hours, not to mention having to stop and help the customers. Much easier here, away from "distractions", but I can totally understand corporate's fear that employees will take supplies home and keep them.

Yeah, surgery isn't until the 25th. Last week was the pre-op Q & A session with the doc. I am now off the Motrin until after the surgery and I just hope I can make it till the 25th without hurting someone!! Just thankful that I can still take my allergy meds--the pollen here is awful this year!

Have a great trip to pick up Alyssa, Paula!! I know it will be great having her home again, for the summer at least. Glad to hear the URI acceptance came thru for her. Keeping Chris and all of you in my prayers.

Tara, I don't know that I would cancel a trip for a rescheduled wedding, either. Especially after giving the bride the dates I would NOT be available! Did you guys have to put down a deposit for the rafting trip? If so, I think Astrid should tell her friend that she's already plunked down $$ and just can't change her plans now. Whoo-hoo on remodeling! So nice that you are available to do that yourself, too! Yeah, it's hard work, but what a sense of accomplishment when it's done!!

Ya know, Nancy, you asked when do I find time to scrapbook and I've partly figured it out. A lot of what I've been doing are "must do" things for work and I will work on them rather than sit and watch TV with Dave. I haven't touched any of my own scrapping in ages! Although, I DID do a couple of organizer bins and a vase--papier mache is big here and I've had a lot of fun playing with it. MY shows start back up in June or July and unless I have to work, I'll be propped in front of the Sci Fi channel most Friday nites. Won't get much crafting done, then. LOL!!

Suzanne! Thanks for clearing up my question about the sign I saw at the food prep place. It said Decadent Chocolate Cake, or something like that, and I was wondering how to get THAT on my menu! Private party, huh? Hmmm.......The cheesecake and the fresh raspberries sound perfectly yummy, too. Oh! And congrats to your friends on their coming addition to the family! Maybe they can just go for a bigger sedan, like a Lincoln or something!! LOL!!!!

Elaine, didja at least have a nice visit with your friend, even though she was so late? Hope dinner wasn't spoiled. Glad to hear your dad got home safely. Sounds like a nice gift he brought for ya, too! How big is the cross?

Ooo, almost 9:30 here---I'd better get going. Have a lovely day, everyone! Mad, mad love all around!!! :grouphug:

Good morning.

Boards are super slow ...again.

Sorry you will be hurting until the surgery, Beth :(
Sci Fi channel is what Geoff likes to watch. But he skips a lot and then just rents the season and watches straight through. We went through season one of Battleship Galatica when I was there.

:yay: on DD coming home, Paula.
Sorry no luck shopping at Kohl's. don't give up....keep shopping :teeth:

sorry you're tired, Elaine. I don't sleep well with company in the house either :(
Fit a nap in.

Sorry your friend isn't going on the rafting trip with you, Tara :(

I am off to the mall today. Hair....and finally getting Biance a birth certificate.
Ordering carpet on the way  Always so stressful making that final decision.

Hi gang,

Can't be here too long! :)

beth..thanks for clearing up the surgery issue. I remember not being able to take the motrin too...it makes a blood thinner!!

nancy...have fun at the mall. I'm thinking of getting my hair colored at home and then getting it lightly curled so that it has some curl to it. Right now it has its own curl if I don't touch it after I watch it, unfortunately what doesn't curl just sticks out straight!

Elaine...so did you get the riddle done? and yeah, I hate people who are rising and Shinning that early! I may rise, but I sure as heck don't shine :teeth:

paula...glad your little girl is coming home. Congrats on her getting into the other college. I hope things are going well for you at home!!

Lily...you're a mod now...fix the boards! :teeth:

Kimmar...boy am I glad you are back, it will take the badness pressure off of me!! :lmao:

rafting trip..i'm glad i'm not the only one who would tell the bride to take a hike! We did have to pay for the whole trip a month ago and it is non refundable, so she has to find someone else to take her place or lose the money :( I think the girl must be a spoiled brat and used to getting her way.

Funny for the day...I went to tell my kids to put their sheets into the envelope except I combined sheets and slips and well....the word that came out wasn't exactly kosher for the classroom :lmao: The kids got the giggles and did the kid thing of "oooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh"! one even told me he was going to tell the AP and told him to please tell her so I could get fired and not have to come back and see their faces!!! hehehe

Okay, off to organize some more!!

Alan...a picture of a pop up would be nice too!!

You have to send me a dirty picture first!

Oh wait..you must have meant this

Nancy, you don't think they were trying to say something about Tom Cruise on SVU do you? :teeth:

:snail:

Afternoon everyone! Finally checking in again. After Eileen left (we did have a nice time, though mostly just watched TV), I decided I wanted to try looking for skorts. Now I know y'all will understand my point of view and not roll your eyes at me. I'm short, and not all that big of a person, but I sure am not "tiny" by any stretch of the word. Why on earth do I have to look in the childrens' department to find a skirt that fits that isn't itsy bitsy short. I do not know how some girls do it! I really just want skirts/skorts that at least have a few inches past my butt, that fit! I'm out of most of the women's clothing now, so this really is starting to peeve me off!

vent done ;)

Paula, glad to hear that your MIL is doing okay. I will continue to keep her in my prayers. Safe travels to y'all today! I hope Alyssa has a safe drive home w/ y'all! I bet it will be great to have her back home!

Bethie, sory that you have to do some of that off hours. I can understand that though. I bet they will look fabulous when done though. As for the cross? It is about 6" tall maybe. A very gorgeous brick red too. I think we decided that it will look great in our kitchen which has a lot of "earthy" tones to it.

Nancy, haven't been able to fit a nap in yet, but hopefully will at least get to bed early tonight :) I hope you enjoyed your haircut! Which carpet did you finally decide on?

LOL, Tara! I used to always joke that I would go into work at 7 am so I could avoid people. It doesn't matter what time I wake up, I am not a morning person. I like it quiet and to be left alone for a few hours. So if I worked at 7 I hardly saw a soul until 8:00 and most not until nearly 9. It was nice to avoid people that way ;)
As for that trip... sorry, non-refundable? No way would I go to a spoiled brats wedding and I would try to make Astrid not feel guilty for going on the trip ::yes::
Very cute story! Just curious, how much time is left in the year for you?

Kimmar, if you are going to try to say you are nice, then I must be the devil ;)

I need to check on laundry. Going over to my dad's house tonight to look at some of his pics and my sister's pics from her trip.

I have 23 days, 1hr, and 11 minutes...but i'm not really counting or anything :teeth: !!!

Sorry you can't find the skirts that you want. I noticed last fall that they don't seel dresses any more (unless you want one that is polyester and is worn by 95 year old women!!).

Boy we've gone from a complex to jack in the box!!! :lmao:

I'm going to try to convince Astrid to pick us but I'm sure that she will go to the wedding! (besides its the girl's second wedding and she is barely divorced from the first guy...you get my drift!)

Kimmar...you are not bad...exactly....but...well you take the pressure off of the rest of us :teeth: :love2:

yuck! 8th graders are coming!! gotta run!

Oy, headache! I wish it would go away!

I was supposed to have the replacement dining room table delivered today. Long story short, it's broken and they will deliver another one next week.

Oops, thought Bethie's surgery was the 15! Silly me

Tiara, Astrid should tell Bridezilla "So sorry, I paid for the trip. Hope your day is lovely". :rotfl: at the sheet/slip snafu.

Alan, what an interesting pop up.

Lainey, I remember those days well. Old Navy was my friend for that.

Gotta call Haverty's back-didn't recognize the number and didn't answer it because I didn't feel like talking to anyone with this head. Oh well.

Back later

Gah!! Stooopid boards! By the time a page loads it's like.... tomorrow. This is ridiculous.

Okay, big long hairy ketchup that makes no sense anymore but crap it all it took me three days to load pages and read ya'll this morning, so here it is.

First of all... anybody know what slows the boards from time to time? Just curious what causes it.

Sooooo let's see...

Clothes that don't fit. Well, you know where I am on that one Shirl. Makes me nuts. Most of the time, in order to get jeans that fit, I have to go to the styles that are cut so low, I walk around feeling as though they're falling off... which... they are I guess. Right about the time I get used to them, the juniors style will probably change. They'll all be wearing their jeans with the waists at the ****s and all the low rises I've gotten used to will be in sizes that don't fit. I'll have to go back to the **** jeans. Ack. Noooo!

Cancun for Lily! Woooo! Our neighbors love it there.

Sending fur babies home. Sigh. :( Don't wanna think about it. I'm not sure what to do. At this point, the carpet is on hold indefinitely. We just need to make sure she's had the life she wants to have and is here as long as she wants to be. She's the priority right now. In the meantime, my new furniture is sitting in my garage annnd the old carpet is half uninstalled. What a mess.

Elaine, your bracelet sounds lovely!!

Tara is remodeling? Oooh! Stipping and painting cabinets! Not fun. Big job. Did that. Tom said never again. What color are you painting them? Have you chosen your floor tile yet?

Lego pics are cool!! I love the elephant and car! Very neat Nancy!

House preview last night! OMG is right! Can't wait to see that one!!! I've never seen Grey's Anatomy. Darn. Sounds like one I should've been watching.

Oooh. Bridezilla story. She KNEW this was a date that was not good for your friend Tara?? If so, what a poop! My bridezilla story: Brother was engaged. They were making wedding plans. We (Tom and I) were booked and had paid for a WDW trip. Bride decided she wanted to get married in WDW. Different from the date we'd be there naturally. They wanted Cam in the wedding. She couldn't understand why I didn't just rebook... change my vacation dates to her wedding dates. Uh. No.

Tara has trampy toes! :p

Hi Paula! Glad to hear your girl is coming home for the summer...and has her fall plans worked out. How is Chris doing? CDs... good purchase. There's a new one out there I need to pick up too. Hope you find a treasure at Kohl's soon.

Will we get to see your picture Sherry? :)

Speaking of pictures... would love to see the new do Suzanne. Had a dream the other night, I cut all mine off. Not sure what that was all about.

Off to shower.

I am super tired today and I feel a headache coming on. Blech.
DIS is super slow....its driving me nuts. :rolleyes1

Kimmie, have to scan the pic. I'll try to do that soon. :)

Paula, glad to hear Alyssa is coming home for the summer. Sorry you didn't find anything at Kohl's. Keep checking. :)

Tara, what a spoiled bride. I'd just blow off the wedding if I had already paid for a trip. ::yes::

Elaine, I love skorts. I plan on getting another one with my Mother's Day money. :) It is hard to find one that isn't too short, though, which is a PITA. Hope you find one soon.

Junior has a class after work today so won't be home until around 7:30, and the game is on at 7, so we are just having hot dogs for dinner today. :teeth:
