Nothing much else new here. Eventually I will have to get out of bed and get ready for lunch with friends. And then off to look at gems and jewelry

Good morning, all! Beautiful this morning, but temps are cooler and rain is forecast for the entire weekend. Heading in to work in about an hour or so, but Dave just jumped in the shower so I'll have to wait to finish getting ready. Still got the towel turban on. I get to teach a class today, so I'm psyched!! It looks much better in person, but this is what we're doing:

It's a baby's room decoration, done on a pair of 14" square canvases and uses the Foof-a-La Nursery Rhyme line of paper. No, I didn't create it, but I followed the directions and made the one we have on display in the store. That's why I get to teach the class, I'm the only one familiar enough with it all!!

Tara, I'm so sorry your mom's aid didn't come thru as you'd hoped. Big bummer about the WDW trip--I hope something changes and you'll be able to go after all. Good idea to go ahead with the ADRs. It's so much easier to cancel than it is to try and get in at the last minute. Good luck with the yard sale!

Awww... Beth, that is so cute!! Makes me want to pull out my scrapping stuff out again.

I told him he was going next year if he had to take me or hire a prostitute! He then inquired if the prostitute would be a pretty one..... He seemed to perk up with that suggestion..... Guess he better start saving his pennies.....

Well thankfully the kitty seems fairly happy. ...and thankfully my bed is not one of her targets. For now, my priority is watching her and making sure she's comfortable. She's not able to eat very much so is getting quite thin. It's so difficult to know what's going on inside, whether they're hurting or not.... Dr. said to use her "joy of eating" as a barometer. When she loses that interest he feels we should let her go home. For now she still enjoys it even though it doesn't usually stay where it belongs.

The carpet I chose is a bit of a compromise to what I really wanted Nancy. What I fell in love with were the nice thick carpets with the tightly woven, fine points but they show traffic marks so much and were just a bit too formal for us. Sooo we found a Mohawk that was a little less finer in point. Whether or not it's good quality, I really don't know. The salesmen highly recommended it, and I did learn that it has all the things going for it that I learned are important. It's Mohawk/Beach Daze and Angel's Wing is the color. The living room walls will be painted Swiss Coffee and Baked Scone. Yummy.

Loved the original Poseidon Adventure! Very intense! Fantastic cast!! I rented it from Netflix recently so that Cam could see it.

Buy any jewels Elaine?

Tara, Being the sole provider is such a big responsibility! I do hope the trip works out. Sole providers need vacations most of all.

Nothing interesting happening here... house cleaning day. Mom's b-day festivities will happen here tomorrow so need to get rid of the dust bunnies.

Tara, I am so sorry about your Mom not getting assistance. I hope that appeal comes through. I wonder, what would happen if she were not in your home? Would they force her to the street? It doesn't make a lot of sense.

Kimmie, good for you getting the carpet thing figured. Sorry about kitty. It was difficult to know when to send our 17-year old on, then just difficut. Sure would be easier if they went peacefully on their own. I hated to see the suffering though.

Beth, that is cute. Good for you teaching the how to. Do you have to do that and your other duties as well?

I didn't get our MNSSHP tickets yet. I'm hoping any day now. I'm looking forward to going...it will be our first.

I went for a walk/run this a.m. with my group. It was refreshing. Rainy, but now I guess I don't need to shower. I've had mine!

The rest of the day is washing, cleaning, packing (Cancun next week).

Afternoon!

Haven't had much computer time. Went this morning to get my nail's done. Junior & I are getting our picture done this afternoon. I made it at 5, so we would be done before the Cavs game at 8, and wouldn't you know they changed the game to 5?

Junior and the boys gave me my Mother's Day gift early. I got $. They wanted to give it to me today cuz we are going to the mall in a bit and I can spend it now.

Hi gang,

Finished at the yard sale. Sold about $60 worth of junk but 20 of it went to the charity for the table. Not bad though. Gonna use it to take mom out to dinner for mom's day. i'm going to surprise her with it this afternoon. I'm doing it for two reasons...one it won't be crowded and two I have a discount card from teh entertainment book and you can't use it on special days. Mom has been wanting to go here for a while so i think she will be excited. i do have to get a shower first. Too much time in the sun today!

Thanks for the good thoughts. i'm going to try and stay positive and that maybe something will miraculously happen...rich husband, win the lottery, you know the usual.

Nancy, I had to laugh, Luis was up early today for him. In his eyes 10 is normal for saturday and not sleeping in. He was actually up before 8 today

Awww Kimmie, I think your vet has a good idea about the kitty though. I do hope she will be as comfortable as possible through out the rest of her little life. And yep, bought some jewels. A sterling and garnet bracelet. There were some gems I was in love with but Luis would kill me for!

Lily, lucky you! Cancun sounds great to me about now!!!!

Sherry, I hope you got to watch some of the game. What were the pictures for? Luis and I sadly have never done that.

I have nothing special here... usual church, lunch, rest, church thing as we normally do. Another cold and rainy day here as well. I just looked at the weather and I think we are in for about 2 weeks in a row of rain. I don't see any real sun in our forecast until a week from Monday I guess I'll have a wonderful weed garden by the time it is done

That was our 5th Cirque show. I have loved them all.

Not much going on here. Just me Meeting Christin about 3 for a movie and dinner, until then laundry and cleaning house

Happy Mother's day to all!!

Not much going on here. We are headed to my uncle's shack in the woods its one of those fixer uppers that requires more fixing up than the law allows!! I haven't figured out why he didn't just raze the dern thing and start over again. oh well. He's been there 2 years and it still is in desperate need of fixing up.

Dinner last night was heavenly...the best prime rib in town! yummy. For dessert we split a huge piece of boston cream cheesecake with a chocolate mousse on top. When we finished we went to Lowe's to pick up materials for the cucumbers to climb and stuff to put mom's closet back up. Her bedroom is a converted carport and it didn't come with built in closet. So she had one stuck into the wall and held on with nails. However, it gave up the ghost the other day and needs to be replaced. So we bought all the junk to install it again but with better supports!!

We did however score on the 2 by 4's we needed for the supports. We found what we thought were mistake cuts of wood and they turned out to be "dunnage" anyway, they were free!! so all we h ave to do is trim them to fit the sizes that we need and we'll be good to go!!

Okay, off to get ready for the hour trip to the boonies to tsee the shack. I'll check back later!!

Happy Mother's Day, all!

We're going over to the in laws in a bit. MIL waited so long to figure out what she wanted to do for today that we asked her to pick out something from our menu at the store. That was good, based on this morning's expenses.

Kinda in a bum mood. I finally got my COBRA stuff from DStore last week (yeah, gave notice on April 1st and it took them 5 weeks to get it to me), well my coverage expired because they took so long. Neil's scrip today cost us 350 bucks! Ouch. So that was my present, a medicated kid! Trust me, I'd rather not deal with no OCD meds!

Yay on NSSHP tix. Sounds like I'd better buy some before October!

Gotta make the home fries-thought I was making those Friday night when they were over for Ed's b'day dinner, but someone (ahem) threw out the potatos we had and didn't tell me! I half expected the accusations of 'bait and switch' .

Quick hi... we will be baby sitting in a few, so I'll be gone most of the afternoon!

Still raining of course... and I'm really ticked off about a tree of ours that is dying. Last year I noticed rodents were digging in that area and killed all my crocus as well as part of the tree. Luis and I decided that if I can't save it this year, we'll wind up replanting it for next with the same tree
