Beth, I'm so sorry about the thief. I'm impressed with how quickly the credit card company went into action on it though.

I hope they get him/her.

Paula: (after hearing 4-5 shots taken from the upstairs bathroom window and watching "that thing" scamper away each time) Good thing moose are bigger!

You are a cruel woman :teeth: :rotfl:

I hope the bad weather is over for y'all too.

Good morning folks!

Morning!

We had some more storms yesterday, too. Not as bad as the other night, though. Hopefully this rain clears out of here. We have a wedding to go to tomorrow.

Beth, so sorry to hear about your stolen cards. :( Glad the CC company acted so quickly. How sad about the firefighter. :( That was in my county. :(

Paula, :rotfl: at your conversation with DH.

I think I am now officially totally sick of rain!!!!! Just not helping my mood.

I had a couple sneaters this morning on me ;)

Paula :rotfl: That conversation is just classic!!! I betcha Jeffrey's sites were off a bit ;) :p :teeth:

John, sorry you had some of the same type of delays that Luis did coming home. Glad you made it home safely too! I somehow do not see Sue as being a meanie! I personally would've been scared for my house too if the streets were that flooded!

Howdy twit... er... I mean Alan!

Sherry, have a blast at the wedding tomorrow! :)

Oh, it's one of those, is it?

Will Pam be catering?

If Pam is catering, I am so there!!!

Just got off the phone with my brother. I think I'm gonna have to plan a trip out to NJ soon :teeth:

Hey John,

I read your post about James to Alex (he is home for the weekend).

(My son Alex is a C2 in the same program with John's son James)

Alex says that James is fibbing, that several of the C1's did indeed get wet, and that one named James or a reasonable facsimile got doused :lmao: !

Alex did not know any info about the party though, he said he did not attend.

John

Morning, all! Up really early to get over to the store and do our GRAND OPENING! :cool1: :cool1: Don't know what to expect, but it should be fun regardless.

I just thought Pammycakes ran the Roadkill cafe, I didn't know she did catering. THAT would explain why we haven't seen her! It is wedding season, you know!

Lainey, road trip sounds like a good plan. Always helps when you have siblings you want to see :teeth:

Sherry, have fun at the wedding-and I don't think it'll be shotgun, lol.

John, hope the basement stayed dry.

Bethie, YIKES! Great catch by Disney Visa. Did TRU have surveillance on their registers to see who it was? I'd had my purse stolen from work, but because of where it was, we knew it was an inside job. Stolen on payday, but ironically, I cashed my check and it was in my pocket. I just went through a week w/o the debit card-it's hard to be w/o that thing!

Tara, so, does the refrigerator have a washing machine cousin? That's the thing I'd see out in da hills.

Off I go, shower then probably get some Krispy Krack for the team.

OK. Perhaps James did get a bit damp. But he told me that he WANTED to get wet because it was hot that day. But he COULD have avoided the ambush. Perhaps.

Let the games begin!!!

James is home for the weekend. We are leaving for a C-1 orientation at NEOUCOM in about 10 minutes. And, believe it or not, it ISN'T RAINING in Ohio this morning. And it's the weekend. Go figure.

Morning everyone! We are finally having nice weather today! So we are moving, pretty much literally, a ton of bricks!

LOL, Kimmar, I didn't even think of that!!!!

Suzanne best of luck to you today! I hope it all goes well and I cannot wait to hear about it!
I agree road trips are fun. Haven't done one in a while and I even have a nice new stereo in my car to use for the trip :teeth: The one we'll have to do after my brother is visiting DC area. Marc already offered to let us stay at his place since he has a spare bedroom. I just hope Bethie would be on hand to help out if the in-laws get to be too much :p

Hi new John!!!! Welcome to the insanity here! What a small world that your DS is in the same program with James!!!

I'll have to smile a little... sounds like a teeny war going on. And we all know the truth about history... there are three sides; side A's version, side B's version and the truth :teeth:

All kidding aside, I do hope you have a great time visiting James this weekend John. I bet is is quiet when he is usually gone! Oh and yes, it isn't raining... and won't this weekend here either. I am shocked!!!!!!

More of a curiosity question. Are the boards moving better for people? I just noticed one of my threads I visit is a bit... well... "slow" as in no one is posting as much. So I was curious if it was the boards which are moving great for me now, or if it was just the usual summer slow down :)

Suzanne ~
OOOOhhh, a GRAND OPENING! Sounds exciting.... :cool1: Have fun!

E! ~
I dunno - it looked like a long-lost episode of Southpark... :confused3 [ :teeth: ]

Bethie-poo ~
STill waitin' on that MASSAGE?!??!??!... :rolleyes1

Tara ~
I KNOW that you secretly have a 'lil 'thing' for Dorkboy.........:duck:

Good morning, everyone! Sorry to hear the storms continued in Ohio, but that is great news that the weekend in starting out dry!! I watched the news last night and the next day here that does NOT show a cloud with rain and lightning is next Thursday!!! Oye! But, so far today is dry, just overcast.

Getting ready to go visit the scrapbook convention. Dave offered to go with me cuz he still has credit cards!!! What a guy!! I'm working the late shift at the store tonight, so I get to "play" this morning. :teeth:

Paula, I'm imagining a cartoon woodchuck thumbing his nose at Jeffrey and taunting "Nyah, nyah, nyah! Can't get me!!"

Lainey, the door is alway open should you venture in this direction!! You are more than welcome to use us as an excuse to get out of a long visit with the in-laws. After all, it's perfectly true that it's hard to catch us both free at the same time with my retail schedule! LOL!! I'm sure I can arrange my schedule though.

Suzanne, can't wait to hear about how well the grand opening went!! Let the owner know, though, that he's getting a lot of free advertising and referrals for his brother's place up here!! I can't remember how many people I've sent there, now! Another woman from church wants to go in July and split the order with me cuz she doesn't have a big freezer. Just don't know that I want to share that Peaches and Cream French Toast!!!

John, who cares who got wet or who's stretching the truth a bit?!! Sounds like they had a lot of fun in any case!!!

Enjoy the wedding today, Sherry! Hope the weather stays dry and they have a beautiful day to celebrate in.

Kimmar, that pic looked like a REAL 'Bama wedding!! Bride and groom looked exactly alike, so I'm sure they were keepin' it in the family, as usual!! :lmao:

Yikes! Dave's almost ready to go and I haven't even dried my hair yet!! Ya'll have a wonderful day!! Mad, mad love all around and :grouphug:

I don't know if I had posted this a while back, but, last month Extreme Makeovers, Home Edition was working on a house right near where we live...my DH happened to be working on a house right around the corner. He went there and volunteered. This is a pic of the house on DAY4....

Here is a pic of him and a friend of ours, Dave [he is on the left w/out the hardhat and Dave is the tall guy on the right]:

HI all....

I have 2 words to say about "Mr. Chuck" - HE LIVES!!! And he has relatives- there were 2 of them grazing on the weeds on the lawn this morning. I can't stop laughing. Wait till Jeffrey gets home......

Suzanne - best of luck for your Grand Openng - can't wait to hear all about it!!
Beth - sorry about the credit card woes - hope the convention goes well.
Kimmar - Loved the prom pics!! Beautiful!!
Elaine - be most careful with that ton of bricks....

Raining here today - Jeffrey was supposed to go fishing with his friend - woke up - it was pouring - called his friend to bow out - friend already on his way - but says he's not bringing the boat.....hmmm.....interesting......I am guessing they wernt out for breakfast and are hanging out at the marina.

Chris slept out at his friends as per the Friday night usual - I am patiently awaiting my car to be returned.

Alyssa, boyfriend and another couple went to see "Click" last night - loved it!!

Hubby and I went out to dinner last night then to my in-laws - the men had a "moose-meeting" - :rotfl2: They are all so excited - they already made some reservations and at least 3 of them are going up Labor Day Weekend. My mother in law was teasing them and I think glad for the "girl company". She showed me her new super-duper sewing machine. She is an avid quilter - always has a project going. She gave me 2 pillows for Alyssa to match the quilt that she made her for her b-day last year.

House is pretty tidy so I'm not going to over-clean today. Possibly going to lunch at Panera with Alyssa (pending he car's return of course) and possible to the mall. Will have to grocery shop at some point....

I hope everyone is having a great day! :thumbsup2 :sunny: :thumbsup2

Bricks moved... hands are raw so this should be short ;)

Great pics Kimmar! Cool your DH worked on EHM! Nice prom pics too... love seeing how kids dress for it.

Bethie, I hope you had fun at the convention! I'll let you know if we venture your way. I'll definitely want to make time for you and Dave if possible for y'all. I figure the three of you (Marc inlcuded) will be more of *my* reason for going that way.

Moose meeting :rotfl: that just tickled me. Hope Jeff had fun w/o the boat ;)
Good luck with the moose too, Paula :teeth:

:wave2:

Well ya'll just knew that talk of groundhogs (woodchucks), moose and roadkill catering would get me out of my hole and back here, didn't ya??!! :rotfl:

Sorry for being MIA - been super busy with work and family. In fact, this is the first weekend in 4 weeks that I am home.

Lame-o ketchup here as I will have to admit that I am about 35 papers behind.... :guilty:

Betty Sketty!! HELLO!!!!!! :wave2: :yay: Sorry to hear that you haven't been well. Couldn't see your DD's prom pics, all I got was a red X. :furious:

Suzanne - :woohoo: on the Grand Opening! I'll take 4 of everything, thanks! :goodvibes

Bethie! I am so glad that you are getting some extra help in your store! Being the boss stinks, doesn't it??

Elaine - nice door! Did you ever decide what phone you want?

Sherry - we had those terrible storms as well. Gunny tried to crawl in bed with me as DH was out of town on a business trip. The bad part is that the lightning had me so scared that I was considering letting him climb up there! :lmao: I think we should all bury statues in our yard to help your neighbor's place sell faster!

John - glad to hear that James is settling into college life - YSU is around 45 minutes-1 hour from my place.

Paula, glad that Chris likes his job! :cheer2: So, have you met Alyssa's new BF yet?? I am :rotfl2: over the hunting stories!! It's a wonder that your hubby hasn't insisted that he needs an expensive gun to improve his shooting skills. I've had that line used on me more than once by my guys.

Tiara, darling!! What a great house remodeler you have become! Cheers to Jar for graduating from kindergarten.

Kimmar, where on earth do you find your clipart and jokes that you post? I sometimes think that you are lilboo's longlost sister? Do you love to Irish jig, too?? :confused3 (One of boo's more interesting posts from years back.....) Love your son's prom photos! And how cool is that about your DH helping with Extreme House Makeover!!! :thumbsup2

Hi!!

Pam - good to hear from you ! We had bad stormes yesterday - out dog decided to hide under Alyssa's too-low bed and got kinda stuck there!! And to answer your question - yes we have met the new boyfriend - they have actually been friedns since middle school so he has been her many times - been quite a regular in the last few months and of course now here in a new "capacity". Good kid - nice to talk to - hard worker. So I guess I'm over the "new person" hump.

Poor Elaine.....and what was the purpose of moving oh-so-many bricks????

Speaking of hands - I'm sitting in Panera eating today and all of a sudden notice that the top 1/2 of my right index finger is completely numb - I lok down at it and it's completely discoloerd. Kinda scarey - went away within about 20 minutes. Beginning signs of Carpal Tunnel do you think??????

Alyssa and I went to the mall - I got white crop pants and a pink polo at Gap.

Hope everyone is having a good day!! :sunny:  :wave2: :grouphug:

hey gang,

I've read the last two pages but I'm pooped so I'm gonna go to bed here soon.

I cropped til midnight last night and didn't get to bed until 3 and then today I sat on fat **** and watched tv shows that i have taped since May. When I wasn't watching tv I was screaming at my boys to stop fighting and play nicely.

Now i have a headache and feel like a totally useless mother so I'm gonna go to bed and maybe tomorrow I'll have energy to post and chat.

back tomorrow gang,

tara
