Hi y'all..back from my long weekend.

Suzanne you beautiful YaYa, I think you take a great picture!

Tara, tell your TA that Sherlock Holmes did not know the planets in the solar system, nor the earth's revolution. He said there was no use wasting the space in his brain for facts that were not relevant to practical matters of his life :)

Sorry about the strep, and the straps too (new bra comments)

Todd, have fun unwrapping any VS presents. However, since that includes slippers, unwrapping may mean that you are giving a tootsie massage.

things done: Pics with santa in new plaid jammies,
Why is Santa wearing jammies? Then again, why are you visiting Santa in your jammies? Someone is being naughty

Liz, trading out cookie baking for personal shopper services sounds great!

Amanda, what is the book series that you get for your nephew?

Paula, I'm glad to be thought of, even if it is for a redneck gift.

It sounds like everyone had relaxing weekends, for the most part. Okay, it was a little "ruff" on Chip, but he got over it :)

I took the day off on Friday and did a little shopping with Mrs. AA and then we went to the girls' school for their Christmas chapel program. Each class did recitations on things they have been learning; it was very nice.

Mrs. AA and Abigail went to our Sunday School department Christmas party Fri. night while Lela and I went to a birthday party at the skating rink.

On Saturday, we and my MIL drove up to Huntsville for our nephew's birthday. There are never guests other than family so our attendance is mandatory. It was a good time though, and now all of them will drive down to our house this Sat. for our Christmas celebration.

Mrs. AA sang "O Holy Night" as a solo Sunday morning and was well-received but she has so many breathing problems this time of year that we left when she finished and she crashed/slept for a few hours while I worked on Christmas cards. :rolleyes1

Then I returned to church last night while she and the girls relaxed at home. We had a concert from a regional family group who were incredible. There are four children - 3 girls who are 19, 17, 15, and a 12 year old boy. They are accomplished violinists and gave a Christmas concert. It was excellent!

 Alan you caught me...I'll be the one wearing the jammies with Santa!! :teeth:

Kids survived the day. I did too. Heading out to the CU and then to go bowling.

Ya'll have a good night!!

tara

Hi all

Christmas shopping is done :woohoo:

Has anyone ever had coca cola cake?? Jessica found the recipe in her great Grandmothers cookbook and is now making it. I have never heard of it. Jack's Grandmother was well known for her baking.

Not even going to try and ketchup. Fingers are all a fluster today. Has taken me a long time to get this far.

No time for an update today. Here are a couple of photos from my most recent trip that I thought you might enjoy:

A nice photo of Karen (my granddaughter???)

Look who I ran into on my way out of Epcot on my very last day

I might post more later if time permits. Life gets sort of crazy around this time of year.

:wave2: Tina!

Yay on the completion of your Christmas shopping. I am just waiting on the arrival of my daughter's coat that I ordered 3.5 weeks ago and I'm all done! :Pinkbounc But alas - I have TONS of wrapping to do.

My Mom makes that Coca Cola cake - it is simply delicious!! :thumbsup2

Sorry your fingers aren't cooperating, go rest and take it easy. :goodvibes

Wait - who called Lainey ODD?? :faint: ;) (Twasn't me, Lainey cause I  you!)

Suzanne, the wedding sounds wonderful!

Sounds like Tara, Alan, Rosemary, Sherry and Paula all had great weekends!

Amanda - sorry I can't think of anything for your BIL. :guilty:

Liz - because you actually had the stamina to let your Mom stay with you! :rotfl: Chip sounds adorable!

How does a retired person have an ODD schedule...or does that mean you are hanging out with odd people??
LOL, just that it is out of the ordinary for me. I actually didn't get it all done since I spent 4 hours at church today working. I'm not sure when/how I will get everything done that I wanted to.

Alan, I take it that Rebecca didn't sound like Cartman?

Tina, glad you are all done shopping. I've heard of the cake, but never tried it. I knew someone who said it was good as rootbeer as well... not sure how accurate that is though ;)

John, thanks so much for posting those pics! I love them all! Glad to see familiar faces among them too :)

Pammy, you can call me odd... it isn't anything I didn't already know!

I need to finish getting ready for my sister's tonight. I needed to be home by four and I just made it!

Got a few more gifts knocked out today. :woohoo: Grabbed some White Castle on the way home, then watched a movie.

Paula, if I would've read your post sooner I would've swung by Eastlake. Next time I'll do it. ;) :teeth:

Amanda, I agree with Paula. A subscription to a fitness mag would be a great gift. Yay for lunch with Todd.

Tara, hope all goes well with the loan. And have fun bowling.

John, great pics. Love those mickey ears Beth! :)

Tina, I've heard of the coca cola cake, but never tried it. Sounds yummy!

Alan, sounds like you had a nice weekend. :)

Elaine, have a nice evening.

Liz, sorry, the Wii's are all sold out around here.

Rose Mary, enjoy decorating tonight. :)

Pam, have fun with all that wrapping!! :teeth:

Didn't make it bowling tonight...kid trouble :sad2: If things are this bad now...I'm skeered of what the rest of life holds!

Have a good night gang,
tara

Hope things get better for you, Tara.

Gonna head upstairs in a bit.

Good night Ya Ya's!!

Quick hi here...

sister's dinner was good

sadly my grandma fell and broke her hip... not sure what will happen for Christmas now. They live 100 miles away and there will be 7 of us trying to travel if we go there... and we have comittments that day for church too :(

Hi Ya Yas!

I’ve been away since the last set of picture postings.

Alan, you are right what lovely angels.

Tara, OMG! That was a great look!

Sherry, nice pic.

TC, glad you got your pics up too.

I don’t remember if I ever said Todd and Amanda, I enjoyed your vaca pics.

Elaine and Luis, I enjoyed your vaca pics.

I looked at all of the pics!

I’m glad to hear that everyone’s shopping is progressing well. Sounds like the Ya Yas are really on target for the big day.

I’m hoping all are well by now or almost better anyway. Tara, sorry you had to miss bowling.

Liz, sounds like you are going to have a cozy Christmas. I hope it works out without the big decorations. I’d have to get a pine tree branch or something to pretend with and make some kind of decorating.

I missed the VS shopping thing. Hmmm DH and I walked through the other day as we were in the mall. He says it’s his favorite place to shop, yeah, sure.

I finished cards tonight. So, in the mail in the a.m.! Whee! I’m getting there. We’ve got dinner here and my DB and DSis families coming over. Eleven for dinner. Cozy. Pups are snuggling with me. I’m going to try to put up a pic or two. Well off I go…

Morning!!

Good to see you, Lily! Glad things are progressing for you on the Christmas front. :)

Elaine, so sorry to hear about your grandma. :(

Morning all....

Lunch yesterday got moved from Applebee's to McD's due to bad service. :sad2:

TC...thanks for sharing the pics.

As for BIL...have done GNC before. The fitness magazine may be an idea. I'll run that by my sister.

Alan...I get my nephew the Guiness World Record Book every year.

Elaine...sorry to hear about your grandma, I will keep her in my prayers.

As for coca cola cake, I have heard of it and have the recipe but never tried it...how was it?

Back to work!

Hi everyone....

Shopping is progressing well - the bad new is I'm in my "I'll get just 1 more gift" mode....the good news is I'm still within budget!! :yay:

Took fiesty little Harley for her 2nd round of shots yesterday - she may only weigh 4 pounds but she definitely was not happy - haha - also made appt for her spaying.

Stopped to see my dad and his "lady friend" - somehow saying girlfriend sounds silly seeing he is 80 - haha- she is a great cook - left there with one of my favorites - meat pie - or you may know it as port pie or for any of you that have French Canadian roots "toutiere" - not sure if my spelling is correct.

Alyssa got her hair highlighted yesterday and I did more shopping - sat in a parking lot for 25 minutes waiting to get out.....sales were great at Kohls though so I guess it was worth it.

Today I have counselor at 11am - running to the mall to make an exchange and pick a few last minute gifts - meeting my 3rd shift co-worker this afternoon to pick up her gifts for our other co-worker.

Question of the day....my girlfriend/co-worker told me she never wraps the "santa girfs" for her kids - they are all upwrappd and assembled......what do/did you do ?? I alsway wrapped the Santa gifts on plain red paper and jsut wrote their manes on it with a sharpie - was very careful that my gifts were never wrapped in the same paper as Santa.

:grouphug: Elaine - I am so sorry to hear about your Grandma - sending prayers your way.
Amanda - sorry about the bad service at Applebees - :confused3 it's really too bad that so many people feel rushed and stressed at this time of year - especially those in the service industry.
Lily - don't feel bad - I missed the VC thing too - guess that means I'd better check that Budget Board more often.

 Sherry, Liz, Pam, Alan, Todd, Suzanne....

and many thanks for the cards.....I'll be writing mine today - never too late I hope....

......yes, you look adorable!

..Alan--Loved the pic! Thanks for sharing...

...what HE said!

Elaine ~
My prayers go to you and your family....:grouphug:

Todd ~

I just want to say that Amanda wrote such a lovely Christmas letter - you are truly blessed!

PS ~ need prayers and PD - - - remember 2 years ago when my MIL had knee-replacement surgery and suffered aheart attack 1 hour into recovery? Well, she fell last week, walking my SIL's puppy, breaking her leg [femur] and kneecap in SEVEN PLACES :earseek: and was rushed to the hospital. The doctors couldn't operate on her leg until they were sure that her heart could 'take' the operation (putting in a plate and a rod); she was in so much pain that they had to give her morphine..... :guilty:

Going back to see things I missed earlier

Rose Mary, I actually agree with you on the MVMCP right now. We did it for the last time two years ago and just didn't feel it was worth the admission anymore. Cute thing to do now and then though!

Lily, sounds like you have been keeping yourself busy lately. I do hope you have time to relax before Christmas!

Amanda, if you do a magazine, Luis really likes Muscles & Fitness. He also thinks Men's Health and Men's Fitness are decent too.

Paula, you made me smile with the comment about fiesty kitties... I know that well. It is amazing to me on how the little furballs can be so... well... squirmy ;)

KImmar, prayers for your grandmother.

As for mine... my dad will talk to the surgeon today and they will do surgery today or tomorrow most likely. I need to find something to send her... so off to do that now, then to the PO (after wrapping gift for Luis' grandma), check on stuff for my dad at his house and then... probably sleep. I'm dead tired. Men cover your ears.. but it is true that first cycle after a miscarriage hurts like a bugger. I'll catch y'all later!

Morning!
Tree is still not decorated, the few gifts I have gotten are not wrapped :sad2: Will someone with some holiday motivation pass it
along please????????? :confused3 Don't know what's up with me anymore.

Anywho, Elaine  to you. Have a relaxing day and just pamper yourself! More pixiedust: & for your grandma and family.

Kimmar: OUCH! Big time. Lots more  pixiedust: and prayers for your MIL.

Tina: how was that coca cola cake? I can't believe me, who collects everything coke hasn't made that cake yet. LOL!

Paula: I firmly believe in the "never too late" rule. Probably 'cause I'm the one that made it up. LOL
 Lily hope your dinner went well. Was it perogie night?
:wave2: Liz
Tara:  I'm really thinking it will get better for you. My DS was a real handful at that age. As he has matured (very, very slowly LOL) he doesn't seem to go off as bad and if he does and you give him some space to think about it, he realizes it and apologizes. (Don't grade me on that, I think it was a run on sentence :teeth: ) Of course, then the hormones come in to play............I better stop now. More  just vent when you need to before you go
Thanks for posting TC, I see some familiar faces :goodvibes .
Amanda, sorry about your lunch date move.
Morning Sherry. Toss a couple White Castles this way please. :teeth:
Better go work, or whatever...........
Later all.................

Kimmar, prayers, PD for MIL

Elaine, prayers, PD for Grandma.

Anyone else, prayers, PD for your needs.

Rosemary - I'm on my way...we'll have a wrapping party!!
Get the egg nog ready....
