Pies are done. 2 more appetizers to work one (one will be tomorrow). I also need to put one more side dish together and peel the potatoes. Then that leaves cleaning for tomorrow morning.

HAPPY PRE-THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!

Hi y'all! My laptop isn't working (will explain more lster) so I am only reading to stay on top of things. Catching up via phone isn't fun.

Just wanted to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving. I know I am so thabkful to have y'all as friends :grouphug:

Safe travels to all!

Happy Thanksgiving to all!!

I'm up and working - surprising and kind of sad that store have break-ins on holidays!!

Wishing everyone a great day!!

Morning, all! Happy Thanksgiving! I'm thankful that Bethie and Von showed up in my store almost 5 years ago-cuz they led me here. :teeth:

We've got the in laws coming over later, possibly my friend Jill. It all depends on how much unpacking she does today. I don't envy her job right now. Heck, we've been in the house 18 months and still have about 100 boxes in the garage!

I'm very happy to say that all we have to make is Kevin's pies! I do want to quality inspect the ham, though. ;)

Hope everyone has a great day.

Suzanne

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!
No turkey here today. Jack is working today and then we will go to Phoenix tomorrow. So decided since it was just the three of us and no time for leftovers we would just make a nice roast. So everyone please eat a little extra for me :)

Most of our guest are gone.....was a little depressing of a holiday. One of my nephews had surgery, unexpected, last night. His lung was collapsing. Just wasn't the same with one sibling only here for a short time...I think most of our minds was somewhere else. I thought my # was going to be down and I ended up with unexpected guest...some individuals I didn't even know.

I hope everyone has a happy turkey day. I am losing my voice, so not sure how the vacation will go.

Happy Thanksgiving!!! The dinner is over. The smoked turkey on the grill took over 7 hours........I am so glad that I made another turkey in the oven....time to relax and get some dessert and watch a movie....going to make the college kids get the 9 foot tree out and build it tonight. That is their job. Then I will get around to decorating it in the next 2 weeks :rotfl:

Since I last posted I have lost my voice. I feel awful. God answered my prayer of keeping me well till the guest left from Thanksgiving dinner. Now what am I to do about vacation. I am all stuffed up also. Today went well in regards to dinner, but for some reason I was breaking things and last night just about cut my finger off. I am ready for the vacation. Lucky for Todd and the girls I can't talk, so it should be a quiet drive.

Betty....Todd and the girls put the ornaments on our tree this morning. It is a tradition. There are still a few more ornaments and candy canes, those will go on later.

Guess everyone else is still enjoying the holiday. I think I will take some meds and head off to bed. Have to still pack tomorrow.

Hi all!!

We had a nice Thanksgiving. All the food was yummy and of course, I ate till I couldn't eat anymore. :teeth:

Amanda, sorry to hear you lost your voice and feel so horrible. Hope you feel better soon.

Tara, safe travels to you!!

Hi Elaine....sorry about the laptop probs.

Betty, 9 foot tree? I have no idea when we will put ours up. I really don't want to put it up at all......hopefully I will get over that soon. :rolleyes1

Suzanne, how did the pies turn out? :)

:wave2:

Sherry, my chef did just fine. We ended up making the apple pie and his cranberry sauce-I didn't have the mini muffin tins for his pumpkin pie tarts. I promised to have those saturday and we'll make them soon. Which reminds me, we forgot to send the inlaws home with some of that apple pie!

Suzanne

Hi all....

Glad to see people posting - don't want to feel like I'm not the only one not shopping this morning. Honestly I don't have that many people to buy for and nothing that would make it worth running out early. Alyssa did say she wanted to go out this afternoon - crowds don't bother me at all so I may go with her.

We had a good day yesterday - food was excellent - I got many compliments on my stuffing!! my dad brought his new "lady friend" - she is very outgoing and funny. It was expecially nice to have both my kids home all day. We had the rest of Jeffrey's family here at night (except for the ones that weny on a ATV trip to Maine - we called them) - everyone was gone by 9pm - kids went to friends and I did a load of laundry and Jeffrey and I watched the CMA's.

Amanda - I do hope you feel better today. What a nice tradition of putting the ornaments up.

Hi Sherry!!

Suzanne - glad to hear that the baking went well - and thanks for the reminder - I didn't send anyone home with pie either.

I'm off to enjoy my day off....

Safe travels and/or good shopping to all my YaYa family!! :grouphug:  :grouphug:

No shopping here....I haven't gone the last 2 years.

Voice is still gone. Head is stuffed. My SIL came to take the extra chairs back to her church and took the last of the desserts home. I took almost all leftovers to my Dad's last night. That will keep him fed while we are gone. Still need to pack, as well as do some other errands. Our car has to be dropped off to get fixed where the lady hit it over a month ago.

Glad everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I ddin't actually eat 'dinner'...I told everyone I had been eating Thanksgiving for 2 days :rotfl: That's what I get for cooking it all.

My nephew still has pain in his chest. They said he needs to cough and get the extra air out of there, but it hurts to cough. Please keep him in your prayers. We are also praying that he and his parents see this as the wake-up call God is trying to give them. I hate leaving my sister at this time, but I will keep in contact with her while away.

Suzanne...let me know if you think you will be at Disney any. We would love to meet you. I will PM you our information, just in case.

Tara...Keep the nice weather gone for us. See you soon.

Happy Friday, everyone! No early morning shopping here--I'm makin' all my Christmas presents! Told Dave we don't need to go hunting for special gifts, let's just plan a trip to NY to see Mary Poppins. Looks like it just might be doable, come February!!

Amanda, I am so sorry you've lost your voice and feel so rotten. Sending lots of prayers and PD that this will clear up quickly and allow you to enjoy your vacation to the fullest. Prayers for your nephew and family, as well.

Suzanne, send the leftover apple pie up here! I'll send you my mini muffin tins so you can make your pumpkin pie tarts. And, I've been told you never return a dish (or pan)empty........:teeth:

So, did the kids get that tree built for ya, Betty? Dave got ours up last night, we're just letting it relax a bit before we start decorating. 7 hours to smoke a turkey??!! :earseek: I should think it would be all dried out after that much time cooking. How did it taste?

Enjoy your day off, Paula! Sounds like it was a good day all around, for ya, yesterday. Was there something special about your stuffing that you got so many compliments? I'm always looking for ways to avoid the "same old, same old". Love your siggy pic, btw!!

 Sherry--can't find your Christmas spirit yet? Maybe you just need to take a day off for yourself. Maybe curl up with your favorite blanket/quilt, a nice warm drink and watch all the old Christmas movies.

Hi, Tina! Hope your trip to Phoenix today is a great one! Sorry hubby had to work yesterday--these 24/7 jobs are just the pits, aren't they?

 Pam! Come back and   with us!

Need to get the laundry started so at least SOME gets done before I head in to work later. Haven't heard from Elaine, so the visit with Luis' family must not be as bad as she feared. Have a tremendous day, all!! :grouphug:

:lmao: :lmao: You better get on it!! hehehe Sounds like my dad's mother except she was an alcoholic and one time she invited 20 or so people over and she fixed one box of hamburger helper :lmao: (My grandfather, who was the president of the company, was mortified...)....

....who you callin' "al-ker-hore-lick".....* hic *

...actually, I prepared a 19 lb. turkey [sans the stuffing], cheese'n'garlic stuffed 'shrooms, corn with thyme and butter, potatoes au gratin, sweet potatoes, gluten-free lasagna and meat sauce, green beans, pumpkin cheesecake, and four kinds of wine from the winery we visited 2 weeks ago in upstate NY...Hmmm, there was something else I served - now, what was it??!?!? Oh yeah...

Hi guys!!

Beth - I guess I should have given more info about my stuffing....I should say that Jeffrey used to always make the stuffing - he cooked in restaurants for years and goes with the "no-recipe" method - sadly he was never really successful with stuffing so last year I decided to try my hand at it - being the baker of the family I am his alter ego - I follow evry recipe to the "T" - I got my stuffing recipe from Martha Stewart.com - Cranberry-Cornbread stuffing - quite yummy if I don't say so myself.

So I just came back from my big Black-Friday venture - brought Alyssa to the bank and stopped at DD for coffee - hahahah.
Please note that my siggie will be my only decorating for a bit - saw lots of cars with christmas trees tied to the top - personally I have a thing about not decorating till Dec 1 - and the tree.....with little Miss Harley around I may have to put it up 1 hours before presents and take it right down - hahaha.

Kimmar - nice menu - 'specially that last item - haha. :rotfl:

Beth - if Suzanne doesn't come thru with the pie for ya let me know - we got apple - pumpkin and lemon meringue. :thumbsup2

Prayers for your nephew Amanda. :)

:sunny: Wonder what Tara is up to right now ? :sunny:

 more later.....
