Had lots of fun!
Back later.

Morning!!

Welcome back Rose Mary!! Can't wait to hear all about the trip!

Well, DS did get an MP3 player (not a Nano, though), and he also picked a video game. He's a happy camper. :teeth:

Doing :laundy: today. Oh joy!

Good Morning!!

Welcome back RM...glad to hear you had fun. How I miss the house of mouse...one if these days I am just going to have to get back. I think Subway is having their convention there next year. I MUST find a way to make it into Greg's suitcase or something.

Sherry, I am right there with you on the :laundy: thing! LOTS to do. I haven't done any in over a week...but then there are just the two of us...and most of it is mine :rotfl:

John, you must be so proud! And rightly so! :goodvibes

Hi Tara! Any candy wrappers this morning? Hope today is a better day for you!

Hey Dave and Bethie, Safe travels today! Hoep you had fun!!!! One of these days I am going to get there when you guys are there....of course you may have to go when I go...but I really am going to make it back there....someday :lovestruc

Elaine, do tell about the Segway tour....you know we want to know!! Congrats on the new addition coming!!

Hey Todd! Isn't today the big day? Enjoy your new toy and be sure to take LOTS of pics that you can share with us. Your girls must be getting so big. It has been way too long since you took a trip to Indy. Maybe you should plan one...soon! I would love to see you all again!

Hey Alan  Is it just me or have you been staying out of trouble lately? Hope you have a great day!!

So on that note, I guess I better get busy. LOTS to get done today...and the painter will be back later to finish a few things that needed to be fixed.

Have a great day...and safe travels to those headed home!

Adding safe travel thoughts for those returning home today and wishing everyone else a good morning.

Morning, all!

It's been a hectic few days for work-new menus are always a time sucker, but when I walked in the other morning, my store was pulled apart for some repairs to the tables. Eeek!

So, yesterday I ended up in the store for most of the day. :teeth:

Safe travels to Dave and Bethie! Rosemary, welcome back home, though I'd let you have more time at WDW! :thumbsup2

Todd, congrats on new wheels! (and to Amanda, too-obviously). Enjoy many road trips.

Alan, Todd and John-I even have my reel to reel out! I keep saying I'm going to transfer my show tapes to the digital medium, but that's after the albums that never were made onto cd. Haven't done any of that yet.

Kudos to James! :cool1:

Liz, :wave2:

Lainey, we'll see how hectic tonight is at work-if it runs okay, then I'll try to duck out a little early tomrrow and get over to WDW around dinnertime.

Suzanne

Page 3!

Yay for new toys, Todd. :bounce:

Rose Mary, wow, great report!! :lmao:

Hi Alan!

Suzanne, hope things calm down for you soon.

Liz, laundry is a never-ending chore here. :rolleyes1

Safe travels to Beth & Dave.

My reel-to-reel died many years ago and I fear that all of my tapes are probably ruined by now. I can't tell you how many times I've checked Ebay for a Teac 3340 reel-to-reel deck. So far I have resisted the tempation. A couple of years ago, my dad gave me a small reel of tape that has some of my first words on it. Someday I'll have to find something to play that tape on.

Hi Liz!!!

Hi all....

Been busy. Went to 2 interviews for the new job at my company. Looks like I may get an offer in the next couple weeks. This job will have no time for DISing...so not sure if you will see me here once the switch is made.

Alan..always room in our tent. It is like a house. :goodvibes Only 3 rooms though.

Liz...great to see you. Sorry to hear about Barkley. As for Indy, maybe the end of December for New Year's Day.

Tara...Trick or Treating is always a trick or a treat, on the parents that is. Sorry you had a rough morning.

Yes...Todd has a new toy. I am so glad it arrived, now I won't be hearing about it every day :cool1: Gotta love him!

Dave...if you have a meet we will do our best to be there.

Gotta go...I'm suppose to be in a meeting.

Drat - Should have insisted that you join us at Loon Lake Lodge on Labor Day weekend. Maybe next year?

It's taken me a while to post after reading Rose Mary's trip report.

The raw emotion lingers...it just moved me in a way that no other report has!

I laughed, I cried..it became a part of me.

Amanda, I'm glad you no longer have to hear about Todd's toy. Now you just have to smile and wave a lot as he tests it. :teeth:

My folks came through and Mrs. AA and I met them for lunch. They have been in GA staying at a state park near Warm Springs which was FDR's "Little White House" since he spent so much time there. They had a great time.

Page 3-?- :confused3

I had a bunch of crap typed out & lost it... :furious: ..

Suzanne--You have a reel to reel too? My oldest are cassettes & I have no idea how to copy them to the computer..I am not computer savvy like you guys.. :confused3

Rosemary--Thanks for the great trip report... :thumbsup2 ..

We're home!! Only thing good about it is our bed here is more comfortable than the one at VWL!! Trip home was a little uncomfortable as the short little guy in front of me had to have his seat reclined the whole way, blocking my light and pinning my legs. Couldn't even use my tray table. Boy, did I make sure I pulled hard on his seat when I finally got the chance to stand up!

Let's see, yesterday started out VERY rainy, so we spent the morning shopping out at the Marketplace. Picked up some new ornaments, a Christmas mouse ears hat, some shirts and a Minnie Mouse punch for scrapbooking. Dave found the 2007 calendars he's been looking for, too. Then we scooted over to MGM cuz we wanted to see the new additions to the Stars & Motorcars parade. Got a great viewing spot and were thrilled to see Lightning McQueen and Tow Mater from Cars leading the parade!! Met up with Elaine and Luis again and did the Muppet show and The Great Movie Ride together. I was wearing my Buzz Lightyear shirt, so I wanted to get a pic with him. since the Muppet show empties out right there by the Toy Story area, we waited a few minutes and I got to be first in line when Buzz came out!! Gave him a big hug and told him he was my hero and got the pix taken. As I went to leave, he pointed to me, then to his cheek, so I puckered up and laid a nice noisy kiss on him and he loved it!! Dave and I had ADRs for Prime Time at 6, but since we were hoping to make it back to MK in time to see Wishes at 8, we wanted to see if we could get in early. Besides, having skipped lunch, we were hungry! Luckily, the place wasn't crowded and we had a nice dinner served by "Uncle Tim" who only had to remind me once to get my elbows off the table. He was lots of fun and we had such a good time "baiting" him. My dinner came with some garnish that looked like blades of grass so I complained that it looked like somebody hadn't been taking care of the yard. Mom had to mow it herself and was shedding bits of grass on the dinners! Uncle Tim said no, Dad cut the grass, but he took a shortcut thru the kitchen on his way to get cleaned up and left a trail of grass clippings all the way to the shower! ;) Anyway, dinner was yummy, as usual, and we were able to make it over to MK in plenty of time to see Wishes from the center of the hub. Got some really great pix of the castle with the fireworks, too!

Got back to the room about 9:30 and got everything packed up except for what we needed this morning. Got a good night's sleep, dropped the luggage off at Bell Services and took off for one last romp thru MK. Beautiful day, park wasn't the least bit crowded and we decided we needed to hit all the stuff in Fantasyland that we hadn't had a chance to do yet on this trip. Got a few pix of something we had never seen before--a crane holding some workmen who were painting one of the towers on the castle! Turned down the walkway to the right of the castle and realized the Christmas tree had gone up overnight, too! Sheesh...Nov. 2nd and they've already got the tree up. Anyway, I got my ride on my beloved Dumbo and then we went on Snow White's Scary Adventures. Line was too long at the Carousel, so we boogied over to Small World. I've been so busy taking pix in there on our last few trips that I hadn't really seen the changes that were made when the ride was refurbished. I miss the sad clown with his "Help Me" sign, but all the dolls look so good in their fresh paint! I think there are a few newcomers in the crowd, too. Since we still had the ECV, we were able to "walk" up and onto Peter Pan. Again, I just enjoyed the ride rather than trying to take pix, this time. One more trip thru the Haunted Mansion and we needed some lunch! Ooops, must visit the Tiki Room first! Then, off to Cosmic Rays we went, figuring we might be able to squeeze in one more Buzz Lightyear ride before heading back to the resort. Food was mediocre, as expected, but I thought my carrot cake tasted funny. Went to take another bite and looked closely--sure enough the blasted thing was mouldy on the bottom!!! Dave grabbed it and took it back to the counter. While he was gone, I picked up his empty cake container and peered at the bottom. Sure enough, his had been mouldy too! He brought me a new one, but there was no way I could even begin to eat it.

Stopped into the Emporium on the way out, looking for a specific scrapbook for one of my customers at my store. Sorry, no luck. So we sadly bid good bye to the Magic Kingdom and headed back to VWL to catch the Magical Express. Sniffle......I really didn't want to come home!! But, here we are, my pillow is calling and I have a suitcase full of laundry to do. Tomorrow is back to the old grind--doing my bookkeeping job in the morning, then I close the store tomorrow night after the crop. Hope ya'll have a good night and a great day tomorrow! I'll check in again when I can. :grouphug:

Hi Liz!!!

Ed scored ours at a garage sale-the identical Revox model that we'd used at both the college radio station and the AM station I worked at. If they could survive the inept chief engineer at that radio station, I figured a home user couldn't do too much damage.

Good Morning!!

Its a cold one today. Brr! Thankfully we didn't get any snow, though. :bounce:

Beth, sounds like a great last day at the World. Eww about the moldy cake, though.

The only thing I have left are my old records. Junior can convert them, just doesn't have the time. :rolleyes1

Errands to run this morning. Hopefully my nephew will cooperate and be good. :teeth:

Ooooooooooh, Mom, Sherry said the "s" word!!!! :faint:

Welcome home Beth and Dave! :cheer2:

Like Alan, I laughed, I cried, I almost hurled reading Rose Mary's extraordinarily descriptive trip report!! :lmao:

Yay to Shep for a new toy! :woohoo: Good luck with the new job possibility, Amanda.

TC - great news on James! :bounce: Where did he get those book larnin' skills from?? :teacher: ;)

Hey Lizzie! :wave2:

Elaine, did you buy the baby his/her first pair of Mickey Mouse ears????

I posted last night, but I must have closed the window before it went through....

We are going to brave the elements starting tomorrow. Most of the camping gear is ready to be loaded. I am cold here at work because I took my small heater home to ensure we didn't forget it.

Beth...glad you made it home safely.

Sherry...hopefully the nephew will be terrific for you today.

TC...you should be proud.

Alan...nice you had time with your folks.

Todd will be working on the final prework for my Dad to paint while we are gone this weekend. I spend that last few nights filling in holes, which seemed to multiply every time I finished filling the other ones, and sanding. Todd is going to wipe them down. We will come home to a painted dining room and hall (upstairs and downstairs).

Alan...I usually only wave once, that is all Todd gets.

Came back to my office today after being at the downtown office for 2.5 days. The manager I interviewed with wants me to call her. I want to talk to Todd before I call her. There could be some changes on the family time.

Off to earn some 'coupons'. Need to stock up before I change worksites...the other one doesn't have this privilege.
