Lame-o ketchup attempt! (Boy, do I miss Jeannie and her ketchups! :guilty: )

Paula, I really feel for you because I can feel your hurt and frustration in your posts. :guilty: I wish I could help you or give you advice but all I (and the other YaYas) can do is be here for you. :grouphug:

It's evident that Chris just hates school and that's a tough issue to try and handle. He doens't fully understand that he needs to graduate and have that HS diploma. Wow..... kids! It seemed as though he really enjoyed working with your DH this past summer, is that a career option for him? He needs to stay focused and realize that it's only 7.5 months until graduation!

I give you props for not covering with him about skipping. :thumbsup2

Lainey! I am still in shock about you not liking PINK!! I dressed my daughter in tons of pink, with hairbows, etc., much like your Mom did to you! But can ya believe that PINK is still her favorite color?? :Pinkbounc

We did wear a lot of yellow and green on both of our kids because, thinking like you, we bought baby clothes in advance that could be worn by both sexes. We even wore blue on DD - one of her cutest baby photos is of her in a blue dress.

 My babies are all grown up! Why did time fly by so fast?????

Tara and Suzanne - we never did the Gutter Regatta in our Cub Scout Troop (although DS would have loved to have done it). We did the Pinewood Derby, always in the Spring. DS won 1st place in the speed contest when he was a Tiger Cub. He also won Best Car Design when he was a Webelos in 4th grade for his pick-up design.

You are right -- some of the boys (and their Dads!!) really get competitive with their need to win! :rotfl:

I see that Kimmar was :tiptoe: throught the tulips this morning...

Wonder if Tara has been fired yet today?

Amanda, I was cracking up at Mandy's thoughts on being able to see with her new glasses! :) And my DD has a couple of Hooter's t-shirts and shorts if you need to borrow some.... :rolleyes1 (DS has quite the collection of calendars and playing cards!)

Hey, Rose Mary sneated on me! :wave2: What did you find out about your car?

I pick June 6th in Elaine's baby pool. Girl, 7 lb. 1 oz., 19" long. Of course the child will be blessed with TONS of black hair! Next?

Two hours down and no firing yet!! woohoo!! He was actually pretty calm this morning...come to think of it my usual rabel rousers were actually calm today...it was a couple of others that were obnoxious. Think I need to redo my seating chart!

Suzanne...we arrive on thanksgiving day around 2, we'll get checked in and head straight to the MK and have T-day dinner with Pooh (not my first, second, or third choice...not a pooh fan!) but I will get my Liberty Tree Tavern dinner the night we do MVMCP!! woohoo!

I found my excel spreadsheet on my computer at school!! So we are planning EPCOT for friday and MGM on Saturday. Sunday is an MK day, EMHPM so we will be whooping it up!! (at least that was the schedule back in May when I made my plans!)

I added the MAC widget the other day so that I can have a count down on my home computer too!!

Paula...you did the right thing by not covering for him when he wanted you to write a note. Hope your puppy is feeling better. Glad Harley is doing well.

RM...when you going to MVMCP? We are going on Tuesday, Nov 28th.

Pam...lucky no raingutter regatta. Too cold outside to do it in the fall! brrrr

back later,
tara

Back from lunch, now I need a nap. :cat: Went to this new BBQ place and it was really yummy.

:wave2: Pam, no word on the car yet. Still waiting patiently :rolleyes1

Elaine: I'm with you on the pink think. Well, for me I'm just not real fond of any pastel colors. I prefer bright, primary colors (to go with my vibrant personality :rotfl: ). Anyway, I did DS's nursery in primary colors. We had Sesame Street :teeth: I'm w/Pam, where has the time gone?

Oh I took DS to his first real concert last night. We went to see the Doobie Bros. they were great. Um, it wouldn't have been his 1st choice for a 1st concert LOL but, at least he is use to that genre of music and I think he really enjoyed himself.

Paula- I really do feel your stress. Hang tough!

Tara- Good Luck not getting fired today! :teeth: We are going to MVMCP 12/15. I may be able to drop in and say hi to ya'll T'giving weekend as I'll be down at my sisters in Winter Haven.

Back to work again. :sad2:

Suzanne...you leaving us out. Guess you don't like us :confused3

Amanda, that was a total brain fart. Think you can deal with 4 rambunctious boys?! :teeth: That probably calls for a meal at Whispering Canyon, woohoo!
As it stands right now, Ed and I are off from work Thursday through Monday.

Suzanne

Just a quick hi....

Thanks for all the words of support and hugs - I can surely use it. I sense tougher days are ahead...

Gotta run out to the bank, pick up Alyssa's contacts , milk store (perhaps a tasty snack for myself) and I think on the way home a LARGE DD coffee....

I love pink too...I tried unsuccesfully to make Alyssa a "girly-girl". When we were at Walmart this weekend looking at fabric for curtains she said "oh god mom we'll probably see several fabrics that you used to make my dresses"...hahhahaha.

I hope you all don't mind if I live vicariously thru your upcoming trips.....

:grouphug: Thansk for the hugs.....sending them back at ya.

Tara...no MVMCP for us. We had tickets for one trip and had to cancel because of Mom's cancer. We just decided not to do it this time. Todd can work the date to meet as I am sure he still has a schedule, just hasn't told me about it.

Suzanne...what is Whispering Canyon? BTW...have you met my husband, I don't believe 4 boys will be too difficult.

Todd can work the date to meet as I am sure he still has a schedule, just hasn't told me about it.

Need to clean some bathrooms...then off to the gym.

..14 hour drive for us..

I envy all of you who live so close to WDW. :rotfl:

The fastest trip that I've ever made from WDW to my driveway was 16 hours. I could have gotten home sooner, but I got caught in a blizzard in northern West Virginia and that slowed me down a bit. I probably would not have slowed down had I not seen that even the snow plows and salt trucks pulled over. Yikes.

Have a safe drive and don't wear yourself out. That's why we always stop on the way down to WDW. It prevents me from being Grumpy the first couple of days.

John--I told Amanda that she will have to drive a little this time...You get down there in 16 hours? hmm...Maybe it only takes 12 hours for us to drive...I would think we'd be 4 hours closer ....

Tara--ME? work the dates? can't do it...Must NOT make any schedules...Leaving it to Amanda... :rolleyes1 :duck:

Paula--Maybe we'll take a stuffed animal in your place on our trip...like we did on our California trip a couple years ago.. :rolleyes1

Amanda, that was a total brain fart. Think you can deal with 4 rambunctious boys?! That probably calls for a meal at Whispering Canyon, woohoo!

that explains the odor...:duck: :cloud9:

Rosemary--Hopefully good news on the car.. :wizard:

Pam--How's that NEW car? :dancer: Hooters clothes? :rolleyes1 trying to get me in trouble? What color are they? :rolleyes1 ;)

Elaine-- :thumbsup2

Sherry-- :wave2:

Kim-- :rotfl2:

My SIL's, BIL's and nephews are here. They are practicing (worship team) for a church event they are singing at on Saturday in Akron. I thought I'd jump on here for a bit, since I can't sing worth a lick. :teeth:

I'm jealous of all the upcoming trips. I wanna go too!! :(

Paula, for you.

John...Todd is like a kid at Christmas when it comes to Disney. We left on Thanksgiving one year, after hosting 34 or so people...he drove through the night then went straight for the parks. I think he was up from around 4 or 5am on Thanksgiving till midnight the next night.

Sherry...whether you can sing or not I don't know that I could take music is confined places. I would need ear plugs.

Took aqua aerobics tonight. My eyes are burning, I only went under the water once and they were bothing me even before then.

Me sees Todd in trouble before the night ends :duck: He better quit while he is ahead.

Have a terrific night everyone!

Hi y'all! Busy day here... I got most things done today. I realized that something I picked up isn't something I can acutally use now. Oh well ;)

Amanda, I am not much for schedules at this point. We have too many ADRs IMO for this trip, but I made them so our family has a chance to meet up for lunch at least once a day.

As long as those empanadas are baked and not fried, I am so into them. My favorite would be lightly spiced beef with some cheddar cheese.

I'd love to share a b-day with Ethan! So we have the 25h and 28th of May. In June we have 2, 4, 6 & 13. I should make a spreadsheet of this all :teeth:

Suzanne, you have me cracking up with your idea on the due date. Though the idea of going to the midnight showing of PotC3. I will say that William is another thing that would be bad. Though I am not fond of Kiera... oh and I think Elizabeth is taboo too. I was going to be Elizabeth until my uncle cheated on his wife with one. They picked Elaine after that ;)

Rose Mary, it just sounds like you are raising your DS right :teeth: I bet y'all will have fun at CBR! I can't believe we will be able to meet up in a couple days. I'll need someone to play with on Sunday who won't be doing big rides ::yes::

Pam, I think the pink backfired because I am so NOT a girlie girl! I rebelled and rode my brother's red dirt bike a lot ;) I actually like it that there are becoming more baby clothes for girls in blue. It's just a good color :thumbsup2

Tara, did you make it through the day w/o being fired? :teeth:

Paula, hang in there, I know you can do it!! He'll straighten himself out when he finally sees what he needs to do in order to have a good life!

John, what you said is exactly why we don't drive to WDW. A 16 hour drive is not something I look forward to. We wind up having the same distance to go as y'all since we have no direct route to the major interstates that take us down there.

I'm getting too tired to type much else. My brain is shutting down. I will need to finish packing tomorrow. I'll try to be around as much as I can!

Evening, all. Need to get to bed, but I'm wound up from working!

Elaine, gotcha on the Elizabeth. I'd chosen it as my confirmation name, but my 'sorta second dad' was my confirmation teacher and wouldn't let me have it...ended up with Marie. That was better in my Nana's opinion, GF's mom was Maria.

Amanda, Whispering Canyon Cafe is one of the sit down restaurants at the Wilderness Lodge. If you want a quiet meal, it is the LAST place on property you should go. The kids love it, the food's good and whatever you do, DON'T ask for ketchup! :rotfl:

Paula, that toughlove thing is not for the wimpy! You're stronger than you realize!

15 hours from Maryland to Mickey's doorstep. Glad I don't have to do that anymore! I did have the blizzard trip like John once and it was the trip that cemented the move down here.

RoseMary, I'm with you-I like Pop a lot. However, they can't seem to get us into the section we want (70's). We typically get 80's. Have some chocolate cake for Liz, okay? (I'm game for a twinkie tiramisu myself) Thanks for mentioning the bbq-I've got a place I've been meaning to try and keep missing it.

Todd, you're creeping me out using that :cloud9: thing!

Pam, we were given pinewood cars as our welcome to the pack. Neil is doing a half teardrop (he even consulted with Daddy gearhead to find out what would be fastest). Kevin, on the other hand, wants to do his car up like 'Crazy Old Man', Mark Martin. The raingutter boat thing is their project for tomorrow after dinner.

nighty night!

Suzanne

Good Morning!!!

Amanda, it was LOUD in here, but I don't mind that.......I'm used to loud. :teeth:

Elaine, good luck with the packing. Got any room for me in one of those suitcases? :teeth:

Its a little over 16 hrs. drive for us, too. We drove straight through when we went last year. Will most likely drive straight through again when we go in July.

Morning all!

Suzanne, I guess I am a bit sad for you that you weren't "allowed" to pick the name Elizabeth. I wonder why he didn't want you to have that one. Personally I like the name, but I don't think I could ever use it in my family ;)
You reminded me... the only time I went to WCC I was disappointed. We had a boring server who didn't do anything when ketchup was brought to us.

Sherry, what do you have on tap for today? I still think many of you are so brave for driving to WDW!! Then again with four boys I could see why you would do that. I just wish Columbus had a more direct route. Technically you are closer to WDW than I am

We're up for packing today and then having pizza with my dad and aunt tonight. My sister agreed to watch the kitties while we are out, so we're set :)

GOOD MORNING!!!! I'm way too :Pinkbounc :bounce: I am soooooooooo excited. 5 1/2 hrs & I will be on the road. Yippee!

Ok, car thing. Took it in, no noise :confused3 FIGURES, HUH? Guess what? Heard the noise this a.m. on and off. Going anyway! My mechanic said he checked everything out, did a road test, oil chg, lube. He said is someone had brought my jeep in for him to check out before they bought it he would tell them to go for it. SO, we are in good shape except for the mystery noise that comes & goes. (And no it is not in my head peoples)

WOW, I am very lucky to have only a 2 1/2 hr drive. I don't know how you guys do those longer ones. After 8 hrs in a car I'm well, I'm not a nice person. LOL

Yep, Elaine. You can count on me to be your partner for a wimpy good time at the World! I'm kinda sad you won't be trying to convince me ride Rockin' Roller Coaster - NOT! :teeth: I really do need to try to get on Test Track 'cause I've never done it before.

Suzanne- I always request the 50's A bldg and never have a problem getting it. Knock on wood. Hope I didn't just jinx myself.
chocolate cake- check
twinkie tiramisu- check
Any other requests? I'm game! :thumbsup2

Todd's in trouble, Todd's in trouble. :rolleyes1

:wave2: Gotta go pretend to work a bit.

Suzanne...we have never been over to the Wilderness Lodge. We keep saying we are going to tour more of the property.

RoseMary...don't rub it in. If we had a 2.5hr drive we would definitely go more often.

Elaine/Tara...I prefer to fly but flights from Cincinnati are outrageous. For the 4 of us to fly it would be almost, if not over, $1000...and that is with a layover.

Tonight I am staying home, but will be busy. I will prepare most of the dinner for tomorrow night and finish up some other house items. Mandy has a friend coming over. Not sure she will come now since I said her sister is a bit too old to be hanging with them. What bothers me the most is I feel the sister uses her younger sister to have friends. All she wants is to come to our house to play gamecube....the others play some but usually move on to something else and the sister just plays by herself. She is also the one always wants something to eat. :sad2: Mandy told her friend "My Mom thinks your sister is too old to hang with us". I am sure that didn't sound too good.

Have a terrific Friday everyone!

Morning!

Got a bit of a headache here, so I'll probably end up lying down for a bit.

Kimmar, Twinkie tiramisu is like the original, except they don't use ladyfingers or marscapone. Instead, it's twinkies and whipped cream. A lot sweeter, but it's good-in small doses!

Amanda, we've been making our way around the restaurants of the world. I'd heard about WCC for a long time, but we finally made it there when Hurricane Jeanne hit-16 people who'd been cooped up in the hotel room all day. Once we got the all clear, it was either there or 'Ohana, and they were booked. One of the best servers from there is a DISer, lol!

Safe travels to Bethie and Rosemary! I'm looking at getting over there Sunday evening and perhaps again later in the week. My Monday got really busy all of a sudden-so much for a day off touring the parks.

Going to track down some lightweight jackets for the boys today before work. This cold front made us realize they'd grown out of the ones they have.

Suzanne ~

sweet isn't the WORD for it....I think twinkies by themselves are really sweet, so I can't even imagine what twinkie tiramisu is like......actually, my FAVE tiramisu is the coconut tiramisu at Boma in AKL...... :cloud9:
