Morning Ya Yas!

JRKaren, Woot! Woot! on those 10,000 posts! AND that you shared that distinction with us.

Suzanne, thanks for looking at it for me. I'll probably set up something for next week to see how I like that experience. My Mom wants to go so it will be ladies trip to the dinner store! Good for you backing away from that thread. :badpc:

Tara, sleep well? I hope. I can't imagine doing what it is you do. You are an amazing person.

Elaine, take it easy if you must. Enjoy your day.

Sherry, to make you laugh... the idea of driving to FL probably scares me more than it would for you to fly period
Ooooh me too!

Sherry, glad you got that pampering to ease your week a bit.

Enjoy your day everyone!
:wave2:

Morning, all.

Another day, another drama. Ed called me at work last night telling me I had to hurry up and get home (I was just about done). His sister got rushed to the hospital. Full on worry because a. she's diabetic b. she's had 4 heart attacks c. she's had congestive heart failure d. all of the above.

Ends up that she ate something bad-but it's kinda frustrating. He's still over in Lakeland and I didn't get much sleep. Argh. We knew we'd have to take care of people, but geez, she's not taking good care of herself and he goes over to get mom (who doesn't drive) and take her to the hospital every friggin time!

Ahh Lainey and Lily, driving's not so bad. This most recent trip was the first time all four of us flew somewhere-we always drove to WDW-I only flew for my solo trips.

Congrats to Karen for 10,000! :cheer2:

Kimmar, continued good thoughts for Abuelita.

Sherry, did the pampering help?

Have a great day, I need to find some coffee to make mine better.

Suzanne

...thanks, Suzanne....still nothing, tho' I suppose that NO NEWS is GOOD NEWS... :confused3

Did I say something wrong???? :confused3 :rotfl:

Suzanne...I hope you sil is okay and that you all can survive another round of fun!!!

Kimmar...keeping my fingers crossed that all goes well for her!!

Lily...I slept pretty good (except when Ethan woke me up at 3 am  ) and today I really want to go back to bed!!

JRKaren...woohoo!! that's a lot of typing!!!

Beth...good luck getting a new car!! Sounds like fun!

This morning was a bit rough and then this was the first time my students (this year's crew anyway) have pushed me to raise my voice. I finally got them going on somethign and left my assistant to stay with them for a few minutes while I took a walk!! Oh well!! The day is half over!! woohoo!!!

back later,
tara

Hi y'all! Couldn't post for a while, so I went out looking for something for Luis for his costume. I also did a decent job of cleaning in the kitchen. And shortly I will start in on supper.

Lily, I always knew you were my kind of lady... the flying thing is just so much easier... and for us sometimes it is far cheaper!

Suzanne, I like driving... I just don't like driving with Luis ;) That makes a world of difference when ti comes to road trips. Plus, like I said, with the two of us, it can be cheaper to fly than to drive.
Sorry about the family situation though. I'll just say good luck :grouphug:

Kimmar, that's what I usually think about no news. I pray that your abuelita is doing okay :)

Tara, of course you didn't say a thing wrong :rotfl: ;)
Yuck on the bad kids though. Want us to come in and cheeto them? :teeth:

:scratchin

I did shower yesterday ;)

Hi y'all! Rainy day... going to tile sometime and then Luis and my dad are going to the Penn State/Ohio State game :)

Morning!!

Rainy day, but warm temps. Hope the rain stays away this evening.

Today is my Aunt & Uncle's 50th anniversary party. :) We are leaving early to pick up some things for the party, and to help set up.

Suzanne, :grouphug: for the SIL situation.

Lily & Elaine, then I supposed driving 18 hrs. with 4 boys would terrify you!! :lmao: It wasn't so bad. :)

Lucky Luis....I wanna go to the game. :( :teeth:

Tara, boo on the bad kids.

Kimmar, more prayers for your abuelita.

Elaine...sorry we didn't realize you had showered!!

I poped on for about 5 minutes last night but my head hurt so I went to bed. I worked until almost 630 last night and then we went for mexican food. We had a $25 gift card/paper from Restaurants.com that we got for signing up for the pta, the problem was that the restaurant was no longer accepting them. It seems that they PTA didn't get permission to do this and the restaurant knew the coupons were all bought by the same person so they quit accepting them. apparently they didn't appreciate the PTA using them for a prize! So dinner wound up costing us instead of being a treat for us. :( oh well!

Today we went to the zoo with my bro and his family. Ethan refused to hold Ella's hand or even look at her for the first couple hours. but by the end they were walking along holding hands. It was cute!!!

Now i'm home for a bit to relax, shower, and get cute so I can go to the movies with Astrid, Suzanne, and Paula. woohoo!!

I'll be back tonight!!

tara

Gee... thanks Tara, makes me wonder what I am like the rest of the time

;)

Luis and my dad are at the game. We are done tiling for now. Just need to do a finishing edge in one area and we're done. Nothing big though.

Sherry, I hope you have a blast tonight! Be sure to take pics ::yes:: Oh and next time we get tickets, I'll tell you. Luis gets them for free now and then because a friend of ours works at the athletic department. His name is even in the program :rotfl:

Tara, I hope your head is feeling much better today :goodvibes:

You know i love you elaine!! hehehe

Gotta get the hair combed and I'm outta here!! see ya later taters!!

tara

Evening all,

Closed last night, opened today-then had to go bring stuff to the other store because they were going to run out. Not the thing to happen when they've made reservations! Ended up yakking with the other store manager for two hours. Ooops!

I'll be scarce the next couple fo days. We've got a party tomorrow, then I've studying for my Nat'l Food safety certification. I did it many many years ago and need to do it again. Had to let the other person going with me know that she shouldn't flip if I'm done and she's not that far in-I read really fast. Anywho-need to crack open that book.

See y'all Tuesday!

Suzanne

Awww... I guess I love ya too Tara :p

Suzanne, really wishing you all the best with the certificaiton. And the party too! Check in when you can ::yes::

Ohio State squeaked by again, soooo not happy with that game at all. Granted the score was fine in the end, but they realy are ticking me off!

Hi gang!!

Had a great time at dinner and the movie. Drank a couple of Lemon Drop Martinis (more like really big shots of lemon drops in martini glasses!) and had a hamburger. Then we walked across the courtyard to the movie. It was really good. I laughed so much that my lungs thought i was trying to stop breathing so I started wheezing and coughing like i was going to produce a lung for the people in front of me!

This was the first time I'd been to a regular theater in a couple of years and this is a new theater so it has these great stadium seats with high backs and lots of leg room. It was nice to have a drink holder for the soda so I didn't have to lean all the way over and not be able to breath to pick up my drink!! hehehehe

Suzanne good luck on your test!!

Elaine...glad your team won! woohoo!!

I'm off to look around for a bit and then head off to bed. just put E to bed so i should be able to sleep in tomorrow morning!!

nighty night!!
tara

Good morning all! I don't have much time, but had to stop in and say hi at least!

Tara, sounds like a great time! What movie did you go see?

Sherry, I hope all went well for the party last night!

Mad love to you all!!!

Morning!

Woke at 7:15, but rolled over and went back to bed. Just got back up-I really needed it! However, I need to get ingredients. The store party is to bring finger foods or beverages-and I said I'd bring my cajun crab bites.

Tara, what did you see that you were laughing so hard?

Lainey, hey, at least they won!

Sherry, hope you had fun at the anniversary party.

I get the impression everyone is REEEEEAAAAAAALLLLY busy this weekned.

How's unpacking going, Karen?

Suzanne

I guess in my mind I told you all the movie. DUH! Whatta dork IAM!! We saw "Little Miss Sunshine" with Greg Kinnear, Toni Collette, Alan Arkin, Steve Carell(sp), and Abagail Breslin. It was very funny!!

Made Ethan and I pancakes for breakfast. Now I'm going to dis for a bit and then grade papers and then we have to go BJ's and get some more school supplies. Most of my students didn't bring in their supplie so i need to get them so I will have them. We were given a $25 stipend for desk supplies at the beggining of the year but that hasn't come in and we do a great deal of gluing into our notebooks so I have already gone through about 20 glue sticks. We are going to have a lesson on proper glue stick technique here soon!

I know the people on the dis get their knickers in a wad when they see what techers ask them to bring in, but when only 2 out of 20 bring in their supplies you realize that we don't get near the amount of stuff we need. I have two boxes of tissue to last me the whole year :rotfl: Me thinks that I'll be back at Sam's club picking up some cheap tissue this winter! oh well, its part of the territory so I just suck it up don't complain!!..much anywy!!

Hope eveyrone has a great day!!
suzanne...get studying!!!!

tara

Decided to make a spicy crab dip and then Cheddar's spinach dip instead. I saw the list from the other store, and no one was bringing dips-figured some hot dips would be good (and easy).

Tara, those trailers look so funny. Glad to know it was good-but we hardly get to moves w/o the kids.

Okey dokey, Ed's out of the shower, it's time to get going!

Understand about the school supplies. One year, Neil's teacher got everything she asked for, and then some. So at the end of the year, she sent the extras back! Made it easier for the following year. I think it's hard for parents to realize that the stuff the school gave them when they were kids eats away from the needed services. I'd much rather buy the supplies myself than have the school lose the ability to buy library books.

:sunny:  :sunny: Good morning everyone!!

It's just me - the "Hunting Widow" - checking in.

The men left Friday morning - hubby has called twice so far - he just loves it up there - it's about 4 miles from the Canadian border. I've seen the website for the cabins that they are staying in - very cute - all the ammenities - we (at least he and I) may go up there for a week next summer - if I can get him to stop saying "you might be bored - there's no shopping here" - I want to just bonk him - I finally said to him - guess you've forgotten that I grew up in a family that went for a drive every Sunday - for no reason but to "look around"...hahahah - silly - silly man!!

I've been keeping busy - took Chris to his counsellors appt on Friday - he had not gone all summer and it was a great session - I sat in - very enlightening - I should say that what the counsellor had to say sound very good (in a nutshell - Chris does not HAVE to be motivated because I am always there picking up the pieces) - will I or CAN I try to "let go" - that's the hard part - I can't seem to seperate letting go from not caring....his counsellor compared it to when he was beginning to walk how a parent follows the child around with their hands out ready to catch them - he said "you're still doing that Mom - it's time to let him fall"......
On a good note - I picked up the proofs of his senior pictures - they are just beautiful!! Jeffrey took my camera but when I get it back I will take a pic of some of them and post.

Alyssa was home by the time we got back form Chris appt so the 2 of us went out shopping for more dorm stuff (if she every gets this room situation settled) - got some gread deals on clearance at Target - she also bought herself some cute clothes at Old Navy. After that I picked up a sandwich at Subway and by 8:30pm I was in my PJ's eating Subway and watching "The Wild" - don't say I don't know how to live!!!! :happytv:
Yesterday Alyssa went visiting at the Animal Shelter (and to scope out kittens for me :ssst: I really want one - but I know Jeffrey is not going to be happy....servies him right for going away!!) - anyway there are kittens already litter box trained that will be ready next week.......
Alyssa also went to visit my mother in law - I made pumpkin choc-chip cupcakes and they (her and boyfriend) went back to school at 4pm. I worked 4-8pm then my sister in law came over with Smirnoff Raw Tea.....quite a treat!!
I'm off of work today.....need to go to Walmart this afternoon - maybe Chris will want to come if I offer to take him to Chinese Buffet.... (note the pattern - hubby gone - Paula not cooking...)

And now to catch up.....
I went to the movies with Tara?? Wow those Raw Teas must have been really good - I have no recollection of any movie..... popcorn::
Suzanne - best of luck on studying for that exam!!
Elaine - enjoy your day....how's the haircut??
JR Karen.... :cheer2: congrats on 10,000 and the move!!! Hope all is going well.
Sherry....Happy Happy Anniversary to Aunt and Uncle!
Lily...
Beth....you are one busy lady!!

Well I guess that catches me up with things - hugs to everyone - prayers for Kimmar's Abuelita and Ed's sister.....

OH yeah - I finally jumped into the "ebay pool" - placed my first bid on a Vera Bradley tote.....I sound know today if I won.

Have a great day everyone!!

:lmao: :lmao: Paula!!! Yep those teas were really good! you enjoyed the movie tremendously and I have to say Pam would be very proud of the dance you did in your traditional white undergarments!! :lmao:

I was a slug today! I got none of my school work done... I laid aroudn on the couch the first 2/3 of the day and then we got dressed, went out to grab dinner, and then went to BJ's. They didn't ahve the portfolios I needed but i did buy glue sticks. Hopefully these will last for a while!!

I can't imagine getting enough stuff to have some left over at the end of the year! That's cool!!! I do a lot of recycling...if kids have notebooks left over or they have folders and such, I'll keep them and use them again the next year!

Okay, I'm off to bed here soon! i'll check back tomorrow during lunch time!!

hugs to all@
tara

Good Morning all! It's 6:30am .....why am I up this early?? JURY DUTY.....UGH....

Hope everyone has a good day...
