Kimmar, I don't like Mexican much and Baja Fresh made me sick, so Luis and I tease that Baja Fresh is a very appropriate name... below fresh ;)

Karen, glad to see you stop in! I was wondering how the move thing was going. It is so hard to do no matter how far you move. We moved a mile and I nearly lost it during that time. Sorry to hear you got sick as well. I hope things will slow down in your part soon!

Did you say that you were getting a four legged companion soon yourself, Suzanne! Oh and i just noticed, I don't have an e-mail for you. I tried to send you something about our upcoming trip and noticed

Tara, I'll have some wine with ya again. I have no kids and definitely know nearly nothing about scouts, but I'd be glad to help you with at least part of it ;) How is school going for you now? Oh and I hope you are feeling better soon too.

Paula, I think that is kind of a lame excuse when it comes to cats. We can easily leave these kitties for 5 days at a time w/o anyone needing to check on them. Sorry though that one of his trips is over TG as well.

Oooh, a pic of Sherry all done up ;) Thanks for the reminder, I am getting my hairs cut tomorrow afternoon. For whatever reason I have a very full schedule this week

Listening to a Christmas album... thanks to Kimmie, I pre-ordered Third Day's Christmas album being released next month. I suppose I should look up Clay's new album too... though most of it is just songs he redid... not much new... kind of sucks especially waiting *this long* for a new one.

evening gang,

Not sure where the evening went...school until 6, dinner, bath, homework, and finally bed. That's a lot to do in 3 hours! hehehe

School is going well. Found out that one of my "different" kids is an Aspie...I have to learn not to raise my voice near him...sends him into orbit! But on the other hand he has learned to do his locker..took him two weeks but he finally got it and can now open it very quickly! Thank goodness!!

My two "crazy" kids are the same...one is getting better the other is getting worse. Have to write a whole behavioral plan for the one  I haven't found a behaviroal plan actually works...but it is a great paper trail!

Jarrod had a better day at school. So i'm glad for that. Nothing seems to be cut up today and I'm dreading going to the shrink tomorrow to have to discuss it. It will make for a long session! But on the plus side...he did get up relatively easily today!!

Suzanne don't work too hard!
Elaine you are welcome to drink with me anytime! woohoo!! kids or no!!!
Kimmar... i was wondering if you were going to finish it!!
Sherry...how's the hair??

Gotta go nighty night!! see you all tomorrow!!

Prayers needed:

My mom just called [from Puerto Rico] to tell me tht she has just come back from the hospital....yesterday, after my 91-y-o 'abuelita' ("lil' grandma") had showered and gotten dressed, she fell and [maybe] fractured her 2nd and 3rd cervical vertabrae(?)....it took almost an hour and a half for the ambulance to arrive! They whisked her to the hospital in Aguadilla, about 20 minutes away, and upon further testing, discovered that she MAY have had 1 or 2 heart attacks and that she has [possibly] an enlarged heart]....she was helicoptered to Rio Piedras (suburb of San Juan), where she is undergoing a battery of tests, but they must stabilize her heart before they can even work on her spine....I feel so helpless, being 1700 miles away, and my mom is an only child, so she has no siblings or father (my grandfather passed away over 10 years ago) to help her..... :guilty:

And, I can't get in touch with my DSis, AspiringCindy to let her know..... :sad2:

Prayers are definitely on the way for your abuelita, Kimmar.

Tara, hair came out great. :)

Elaine, enjoy your turn at getting your hairs done. :) I love getting mine done, and tonight I really need the relaxation and time away from the boys.

Gonna head to bed......good night all.

Quiet night.

Morning all!!
Nah, you just sleep less than the rest of us ;)

My brother called me late last night to talk briefly. He took the GRE yesterday and got a perfect score on the math part. He did great on the verbal... we'll have to wait on the written portion.

Tara, glad to hear that one kid is at least getting better and that Jarrod is doing good in school. It really is a pity that we don't live closer... I'd meet up for drinks anytime you'd need!

Kimmar, prayers said for your mom. My MIL went through much of the same after her sister died of cancer. Her mom died not too long ago of alzheimers and was the only one there to take care of her. Made it rough for her to go from DC to Mayaguez so often.

Sherry, I love getting a haircut for the same reason. It is just relaxing and a good way to get away from the world!

Not sure what else I am up to today... I just hope y'all have a great day!

Good morning everyone!

Just popping in for a quick post, since I'm already at the office this morning. Up at 5:30, out the door at 5:55. Crazy, I tell ya.

Kimmar, sorry about your grandmother. Sending out lots of good thoughts for her. What a journey to get her assistance! God bless her.

Tara, glad to hear that Jarrod had a better day at school. It would get might expensive if that shirt cutting thing became a habit!

Elaine, that is a cute little kitty there. :)

Good morning, Sherri. I was up bright and early this morning, but I want to be back home in bed. Darn fall (or almost fall). It's so hard to get up in the mornings this time of year.

Well, time to work. Have a great day, everyone!

good morning!

Kimmar...lots and lots of hugs and good thoughts to your abuelita!! I hope you got a hold of AC!!

Jarrod is not wanting to get ready for school so i had to walk away so I wouldn't choke him! so here I am. Have to leave in 10 minutes and he hasn't completed one task this morning...okay, well the one where he stomps on my last nerve is more than completed!! hehehe :rotfl:

off to work. Have to go to a training today so I won't be able to get on the dis during the day. I'll stop by tonight!!

...yes, I inally did, around 10:35 last night....she has a really bad cold, but she was giving my niece, Sloane, a bath and getting her ready for bed, but didn't hear the phone, since it is downstairs.....

Elaine ~
Mayaguez is about 30 minutes south of where my mom lives....

Tara, just take Jarrod to school as he is... if he isn't dressed and goes outside like that he'll learn quickly ;)

Kimmar, I didn't realize your mom was living there. Were you born in the US or PR? I joke saying Luis' brother is a half breed... conceived in PR but born in the US after his dad joined the army. It's so rough living far away from family though.

...both of my mom's parents were born in PR...they are from the 'pueblo' of Lares ("El grito de Lares"), but my mom (as well as my borthers and sister) were born HERE....I'm a "GermaRican".... :teeth:

....'half-breed' - good one! My mom is an only child, and she retired 3 years ago, to take care of my grandmother...it has been very hard on her, because she is used to seeing all her grandchildren growing up, and now she is so far away....

I like that one!!! I'm just mutt here :p

I wasn't sure about any of that since you said your mom lives down there now. I wouldn't terribly mind moving there myself, but Luis doesn't care for the heat much

...do you remember me telling everyone that we went to PR last summer to visit?? We stayed in these condos/townhouses, called Villas Montanas - they were secluded and RIGHT ON THE BEACH! There were 7 of us, so my mom didn't have enough room in her home.....BTW~this is the FIRST house that she's ever owned, and I am really happy for her about THAT....

Hi Ya Yas!

Sorry about being MIA.

I haven't read to ketchup...just a bit.

Kimmar, prayers to your family.

Sherry, a dress up pic. Oh that will be fun.

Elaine, that little one you are adding is so cute. It makes my want even stronger. Can't though--DS allergies--so I live through the cats of others!

JRKaren, glad you are on the mend and that you are IN the house so you can begin setting up as you want. After you are done going through your stuff to sort and toss, I think I could use some help here. I need to shovel, just no time to get to it.

Tara, sounds like you are having a time with that young one. I think a "come as you are" party is a great idea if he gives you a rough time. Good luck in the session tonight.

Suzanne, I get that you are continuing to be busy too. We just got a flyer this week for a place similar to what yours is that is opening kinda near us. Grand opening buy 3 meals get 3 free next Thursday. I've gotta go online to see, only I forgot the site addy--left it at home.

Everyone I didn't mention, hope all is well.

It has been busy, not too bad though. The weekend schedule has all of a sudden really jammed up with last minute gatherings and takes away from getting house chores done. I try during the week, but seem to get tied up with one thing or another so it's been something.

Have a great day all!

I guess that means no Yankee Peddler for Lily this year. :(

Good morning, everyone! Happy Thursday!!

Prayers and a boatload of PD for your abuelita, Kimmar!! Comfort and support for the whole family.

Our Elaine?? A mutt?? Nevah!!! Just say you're "League of Nations"--that's what my mom always told us to say.

Can't wait to see pics of the hair, Sherry! Is it still kinda "striped"? I really loved the last pic you showed us.

 and plenty of get well PD for ya, Karen! Glad to hear you're moved in, even if you will be unpacking for the the next year and a half. But so sorry about the cold. Hope you feel better VERY soon and things get a bit less crazy for ya at work.

Tara, so glad to hear Jarrod made it thru at least one day without destroying something! Hope things got worked out this morning and ya'll are safely to your respective schools all in one piece. Good luck with your "Aspie" and the 2 "crazies" in your class. I have great respect and admiration for anyone who can take on a teaching position like that!

Spent a very frustrating and hectic morning myself, yesterday. Dentist was late, I have 2 little bitty cavities (haven't had a cavity in over 20 years!), tried to go to my bookkeeping job, only to find the highway backed up as if it were still rush hour, and Dave's plane was coming in an hour earlier than he had told me. (Just cuz you're coming from the Central Time Zone doesn't mean the arrival time printed for here is CST!) So I ended up not being able to get any bookkeeping done, but I got my sweetie home safe and sound! Looked at new cars for a few and decided that I want either a new Yaris hatchback or a Scion xA. My bad knee is making it increasingly difficult to use the clutch, so I need to figure a way to get a new car with an automatic. So daggone expensive, though!! May have to think about getting a 4th job...either that or hold a monthly yard sale in the hopes of coming up with a car payment

So, I'm off to play in traffic again and maybe today I can get the bookkeeping done. Then it's back to the store for the late shift. Today is shipment day, too, and I'm looking forward to seeing what new goodies arrive! We are expecting several new lines of paper with matching embellishments and I can't wait to see them. Hope everyone has a great day!! :grouphug:

No nephew today.Gonna go and get my nails done when tney open in a bit. :)

Kimmar, glad you were able to get ahold of AC. I like that GermaRican!! :teeth: We are hoping to get to PR someday, if I can get over the flying thing. There is still family of DH's that I haven't met, after 16 yrs. of marriage.

Elaine, lol. I hate getting up so early. And I didn't sleep so well last night, so that makes it worse. :rolleyes1

Beth, yep, I still have "stripes." :teeth: I think the Yaris is cute. :) Good luck with that. A fourth job, though. :faint: Just reading your posts about working makes me tired.

Hi Lily! Good to see ya pop in!!

Hi John! I have the DVR set and ready to go tomorrow. :teeth:

Karen, I hate getting up this time of year. I am so not ready for this cold weather.

Tara, I'll join ya for some drinks. I have 2 that are on my very LAST nerve. :sad2: :sad2: They are trying to put me in the looney bin.
