Anyone want a kid?

I just woke up to find every piece of luggage open, with it's contents strewn about. All because he wanted his damn gameboy-which he hid in his bedroom. Of course, the mess was left for me to clean up.

I'm at the end of my rope with this kid. He was a monster the whole trip, which we dealt with, but I've had it.

So, anyone want a kid?

Suzanne
 Suzanne...I totally feel for you!!!! I say we find someone to take both of them and then you and I put a dent in that wine holder of yours!! Sorry you had a rough trip with him!!!

Elaine...don't worry...I did ignore you yesterday :teeth: !! Have fun painting.

Thanks for the save Sherry!!!

Its my lunch break and I decided that I would dis during lunch rather than write an IEP! So lunch is sheppard's pie that mom made last night, doritos, and chips ahoy! Yummy!! Jarrod takes his lunch everyday so I have good snack foods in the house now!!

Well, time's up. Gotta get working again (I've taken 10 minutes for lunch that's more than enough time!!)

Hi all...

I thought I posted yesterday...guess not.....

been at work meeting all morning yesterday and today - makes for a loooong work day.

Sending smiles - hugs...well wishes - take whatever you need!!

No meeting tomorrow - just bringing in my car for service in the am - then hopefully some DIS'ing time.

:moped: I'm off....

Quick hi before I start dinner. Just finished helping (doing) Julian with a project for school. :teeth:

Suzanne, for you.

Tara, mmmmm.....I love shepherd's pie.

Elaine, enjoy painting.

Kimmar, :lmao:

Hi Paula!!

Hi all

Just a quick pop-in to say hi. Not much going on around here. Finally cooling off a little. I am happy summer is nearly over.

I'm back...Tara, come have some wine with me! :teeth:

Apparently, I put the fear of God into the child, because he was the model student today. After this morning's debacle, I was torn-do I send him to school the way he was acting or do I keep him home? (which rewards the lousy behavior)

I brought the kids into school, so I can give the teachers a heads up (his head teacher is a computer phobe). One of the paras saw the look on my face and immediate came up and hugged me-so I started crying.

The long and the short of it was I spent an hour talking with his teacher and she's getting some info together for us. We've been in a holding pattern on some stuff while waiting for SSDI. I'm good at keeping things together, but it's wearing me out. His teacher is awesome and had lots of advice. I feel better about it.

So, I still haven't written the trip report. Today was spent cleaning out the fridge and freezer, then going into work to make my meals so there would be food.

However, one thing from the trip-well, two, happened. First, on our way to Hollywierd, we noticed a Dale Tiffany outlet along the I-5. Ed and I are gaga over those lamps! We've got a bunch picked out for the house that we figured we would pick up one at a time (mission style/craftsman/Frank Lloyd Wright inspired). So, we went in-and found a one of a kind hanging lamp for our dining room. It arrived today and Ed will put it up tomorrow.

The other was that we found the mickey icon knobs that WDW discontinued, but DL still has. So, my cabinets now have icons! The kitchen color scheme had been based on those knobs, lol.

Lainey, been painting some more? Wanna come help here? Home Depot's gonna loooooove me this week-getting paint for Neil's room next. Arggggghhhhhh!

Paula, meetings-ugh. My advice is to raise your hand when you've had enough and say "may I be excused? My brain is full"

Kimmar, he doesn't look very pirate like! :rotfl:

Bethie, thanks for the hugs. I needed them.

Gotta get dinner together-we have scouts in an hour.

Suzanne

Morning!

Hi Tina! Good to see you pop in. Glad to hear the weather is cooling off.

Suzanne, glad you were able to get some good advice from the teacher. Yay on the lamp and the mickey knobs! :bounce:

Cold, rainy, and just plain ugly today. Blech!!

I have an appt. this evening to get my hairs done. :yay:

Good morning y'all! Just letting you know I've been in a funk lately so I haven't really been posting all that much. Nothing personal against y'all and I know everyone has been there. Nothing really is wrong... I think I am just not looking forward to fall ;)

Before I totally forget. It looks like we will have a new addition to our family

A friend of mine found three kittens at her mom's. This is the one I'll bring home. Not 100% sure if it is a girl or not, so until the vet says so, we won't name him/her. Right now we call it Holstein :p Though with those Yoda ears (they do slightly bend forward like Yoda's) I might wind up calling it Luke or Leia :teeth:

Tina, so glad to see you pop in again!!!! Glad to hear that the rummaging kid is behaving. Wine with Tara? I am so there! Yucky cooler weather here too, Sherry. Tina had a horrid pirate impersonation there ;) Paula is as busy as ever too!

So there's my ketchup :p I went to church this morning with my dad and need to go to my church later to do the music library stuff. I hope everyone has a great day

Hello everyone,

Well, things still haven’t slowed down for me yet. Moving has been a lot crazier for me than I ever imagined it would be (but crazy in a good way). I officially moved into my place on Sunday, September 10th, 2006, so I’ve been there about a week and a half now.

The move was a lot more overwhelming than I ever imagined it would be. This is really the first move in my life that I really had to work on, and it’s the first time I moved from my street. I’ve lived in my house for since I was four years old, and we literally moved from a house three doors down. I still have a lot of unpacking to do, but I’m taking my time because I want to go through the stuff again and get rid of more stuff (I have way too much stuff).

The place is nice, though. I really lucked out because it was pretty much move in condition. The only thing I did was paint the master bedroom (which already had a fresh coat of egg shell white paint on it). I painted it a soft gray blue. I just wanted some color in the room--I’ve lived in a house with dark paneling all my life, so it was time for some color.

It’s very quiet, which has been an adjustment. I lived on a side street that got a decent amount of traffic. Now, the front of my place faces a driveway that goes back to one of the parking lots, so there’s not much traffic in the evening. The back of my place features a grassy area, and about 15 or 20 feet of woods, a row of buildings, and a main street, so no noise there.

Right after I moved in, I wound up getting sick. I had started sneezing the weekend I moved, which I just chalked up to the new environment, but by Thursday, I was sneezing up a storm and coughing like a maniac (which was a bad day to get it as I had the day from h-e-double hockey stick at work, and wound up working until 8:45 that night). Missed work last Friday, and was pretty much useless over the weekend. I’m still not 100% (still coughing and a bit stuffed up), but I’m getting there.

Between the move and being sick, I’ve missed quite a bit of work, and now I need to catch up, so I’ll be doing some OT the next few weeks. Things have got to slow down eventually.

Anyways, that’s enough about me. I hope that everyone is doing well. I know I’ve been distant, and when I do show up, I’m talking about me, but know that I do think of all of you and care about you. I’ll get back in the swing of things eventually.

Talk to you later.

Karen

Lunch time post!!

Cute kitty!! Glad the house is coming along well!! Yeah for cooler weather! boohiss for meetings! wine is good!

I had to go home from work right after work yesterday cuz the dog had a vet appt. I got home and Jarrod told me that his friend invited him to a Boy Scout meeting (this kid is the one that would have been my nephew) at 5;30. So I took him up there, planning to sign him up and leave! OH NO!!! If they are a tiger scout you have to stay with them  So as if hanging out with crazy kids all day, now I have to be in a cafetorium for an hour every week while my crazy kid goes medless and runs around with the other hoodlums!! I have Karen's cold and needless to say I was not a happy camper. Then to top it off they tried to give me 20 things of popcorn to sell last night! I told them I would take orders and pick the stuff up instead of taking it and being responsible for it at my house!!

Then before we could even get to the meeting I found out that Jarrod had a bad day in school yesterday because he kept talking and playing instead of working. Well, this irked Jarrod so he took his scissors and cut a hole in his shirt...then to make things worse he used his pencil and put holes in shirt with the pencil.

HOpefully today will be better!!

Gotta go work now!! hugs to all!!
tara

Popping in from work briefly!

Lainey, that's a cutie there-I'll live vicariously through kitty pictures. (Psst, there's going to be a four legged addition to the house soon!) Hmmm, I should bring a bottle over with me when you're down here, lol!

Tina, howdy-you sneated last night!

Sherry, pics of the hairs, okay?

Karen, hope you're feeling better and that all the hours at work don't make you sick again. Isn't it nice to decorate the way YOU want?

Tara, actually, they want you to stay with ALL the cub scout groups. We got our popcorn stuff last night. Thanks to Pammykins, my family is very excited about it! I'll make sure your wine is ready and waiting on Tuesday nights. If you prefer sangria, I'll have that one tonight-promised the assistant that she could have it after the night we'll have here.

Back to work. Two overbooked groups tonight, oh boy!

Suzanne

HI all.....splitting headache here - I'm definitely thinking too much :surfweb: and not enough..

Elaine...I just love the kitten - I want a new kitty so bad by DH says no more pets....says "we will be doing alot of traveling".... :confused3 I think my "we" he means "me" as in himself - he's the one with 2 trips planned....yes 2!! He's now decided to go fishing on Thanksgiving weekend.....

Anyways.....I'm going to Barnes and Noble tomorrow - I deperately need to get some kind of "Excel for Dummies" book - because my new work duties call for creating documents and I am sooooo clueless....
Trying very hard to be diplomatic in dealing with condescenting co-workers..... :bitelip:

No other alternative.... :coffee: it's definitely coffee time!!

Suzanne, I'll try to get a pic. Actually, I'll take one Saturday when I am dressed up for aunt & uncles anniv. party. :teeth:

Elaine, what a cutie. :)

Tara, yikes. Sorry about your day. You definitely need some wine!

Karen, glad your moved, but sorry your so sick. Hope you feel better soon.
