Welcome to the OFFICIAL DVC "The Shirt" Club for men (Plz share a photo. I did!!)

I don't own any, personally, but I like them because they're timeless...

They never go out of style because the tackiness is built in from the start ... It's a feature, not a flaw! Ironically, though, this is the same reason they are never really considered fashionable.

With all of that in mind, if they were considered "fashionable" or "stylish," would they be worth wearing?

I love seeing guys in the the Hawaiian shirts. I wish more would wear them. The shirts make the guys look relaxed and happy.

I have a few Alfred Shaheen shirts (and matching glassware set) and they are some of my favorite shirts to wear. One of them is an original limited print from 1969 and was a gift from his great (great?) nephew and I'm afraid to wear it and spill something on it.

How cool is it to have a shirt with matching nice beverage container in your hand.

To give an example, this is a beat up faded one going for $200

Not the best looking thing but you get the idea.

Check out the website and tell me some of those lamps and stuff aren't cool :)

Kikiq---thanks for posting those pictures! I love them. I BOUGHT my (over-40) dad 5 Aloha shirts for my destination wedding in Kona and my DH has them too. They don't wear them too much in CA but occasionally now when we go to Roy's (hehe). I know they look dorky but I think it's so cute!

We just returned from Hawaii yesterday and no matter how much I pleaded, DW would not allow me to buy one :sad2:.

Well, technically, David, any shirt you buy in Hawaii is a(n) Hawaiian shirt, isn't it?

:rolleyes1

DH, who is only 30, has several disney themed hawaiian shirts and has been wearing them for years. His favorite is a jessica rabbit one. He cant wait to wear it again next week.

DH bought one on our trip to Hawaii. Years later he worked with a group of people who held a "Hawaiian Shirt Day" at work once or twice a year so he added another shirt or two to his collection at that time. I agree with kid-at-heart that guys look relaxed in them. I think it's the perfect vacation shirt.

kikiq, I love the photos of your dad!

You know..... Hawaiian print. only older people where them:rotfl2: I know have 5 or 6 of them. :confused3 Getting old can be so much fun:hippie:

So how many other dad's have these wonderful shirts?

SHhhh!!! Don't tell! I'm a mom/grandmom and I have and wear them myself! Every time I found one at the Disney store or online Disney store I picked one up. LOVE my Disney tropical shirts. Most of them are Reyn's which are really nice quality.

What wrong with my hawaiian mickey shirts? In my mid 30s been wearing them for years. I was upset with the Disney store stopped carrying them. Wish I cold quickly find the photos (too lazy to get the external hard drive).

I wish they'd go back to having more of them too. I can't get enough of 'em. LOL

I wish i had a picture to post , but my son in law 32 has that same shirt and his wife has matching skirt and their little girl 8 matching ling dress. I think they originally got them for a Luau wedding. But they have worn them on the Disney cruise too. They looked GREAT :woohoo:

Does this shirt look familiar? ;)

That's my Dad and my DH. (Mom and I wore the matching dresses but I can't find a pic).

We do! We do! DH has the shirt, and I have the dress. If I'm not mixed up, I may have a skirt, and a top with Mickey on it too. We also bought a matching shirt and dress at Hilo Hatties in HI. :rolleyes1
