I am not an over 40 Dad, but I just wanted to comment that I love that picture!

We just returned from Hawaii yesterday and no matter how much I pleaded, DW would not allow me to buy one :sad2:.

Which one in the picture is you? At sixty, I still don't have the Hawaiin shirt but agree that if I felt like wearing one I wouldn't care what others think. Also, at 60 I have an advantagve over you because I can now say things that can be somewhat offensive and they just say, "Don't mind him he is just old," (that is true freedom). I have an ancient pair of comfortable tennis shoes with holes that I still wear because I just don't feel like getting another pair. My children compliment me often (they believe criticize) about wearing old man's clothes. Other than what i need for work I generally buy cheap mainly choosing based on comfort not look. My daughter tells me I have no "fashion-sense" and I tell her I just wear the same cheap stuff back when I was hippie in a commune on drugs (not true but daughters need shock treatment once in a while to make them think that whatever you are now is a large improvement over what you were before).
In any event, I do draw the line at spandex swim suits.

I think it depends on the guy. My Dbro has been wearing the Hawaiin shirt since his mid-20's and he's a young 30's now with kids. My DH has never worn them and he is pushing 40.

BTW, I like your shirt!

What wrong with my hawaiian mickey shirts? In my mid 30s been wearing them for years. I was upset with the Disney store stopped carrying them. Wish I cold quickly find the photos (too lazy to get the external hard drive).

I think it depends on where you live. My dad is from Honolulu, wears them all the time. My Dh and brothers have worn them for years.

He had 3 of them on that trip. Couldn't lose him, the blue one was the "tame" one, he had an orange/yellow print and a bright turquoise print. The CMs knew instantly who we were talking about whenever he wandered off;)

I am 38... and i have a "shirt" but rather than flowers it is skulls .. it looks like flowers from a far though..

hey, My DH have all the Mickey Hawaiian shirts from each year from the Disney Store and Catalog, I have the Matching dresses AND my Grandkids have the matching shirts and dresses so we all match :) Wore them to hawaii this year too...

DisneyStore.com have them this year but not the store....

They have the Disney shirts in the store at the Poly. I bought one for DS9 - he's the Hawaiian shirt fanatic in our family. DH wouldn't wear one if I bribed him too. ;) But DS9 has been wearing them since he was 6, and shows no signs of giving them up any time soon.

It's amazing how few people under the age of 40 posted there photo's of then in the"shirt" LOL 40 is but a number. When i was 12 I thought 40 was real old LOL now I dont think that til your in your upper 80's lower 90's. :worship:

Over 40: Yes. Hawaiian shirts: Yes, two of them. Bought them for Disney Cruises and wear them once in a while here.

My DH has that Mickey HI shirt and about 3-4 other Disney ones. He also has 4-5 non-Disney ones. He loves HI shirts.
He is 56, but started wearing them in his mid-20's.
