Welcome to Disneyland Tour - is it worth it?

I saw that there is a welcome to Disneyland tour for 25$ per person. 2 1/2 hour tour includes VIP seating for Aladdin, WOC fastpass, a free collecting pin and lanyard... And a couple fast passes... My question is... If I am NOT a DL newbie. (been there a few times now) is it pointless to do this tour? I wouldn't mind listening to some cool facts about the park or behind the scenes tidbits... Or is it a tour to explain how to use a fastpass or name each of the rides/height restrictions , or how to get around the parks? Will it be a waste of my time/money?

I'd like an answer to this too. We're going in a few weeks and I'm looking for something new to try.

I went on this tour with imtooexcitedtosleep, and in my opinion, if you have been to Disneyland, then you do not need to take the tour. It's basically an introduction to Disneyland for people who have no idea what it is, or how to get on the attractions, etc.

There were no tidbits of trivia, or anything like that.

I think the tour would be fine for people who have never been to any Disney park.

I was on the phone with the tour hotline this morning, and I was told that the perks are that you get several fastpasses for specific attractions during the tour with no specified time. I was also told that you get three additional fast passes that you can use on any ride.... it's only offered on limited days, so I would have to go the first day I'm there.... I'm still undecided.... my definite tour must-dos are Walt's Footsteps and Happy Haunts (I'm going in October)...

I am planning on booking this tour for my son and I. We will get the tickets for $20 each with our discount so I think it is a great deal. Saves a lot of time waiting in regular lines with the fast passes that they give and the rides you get to go on during the actual tour. They also have Priority seating which will also help with waiting in lines.

I have not been there since 2006 so I wont mind the "refresher course" on Disneyland.

I am thinking of booking this tour for 12 days from now when we go. Reviews i have read list Pirates as one of the attractions they take you on. Does anyone know what they will substitute for this since we while be there while this is closed for refurbishment?

We have this booked for a week from today, as we are WDW vets, but DLR newbs.

I have heard fairly good things about it, and will be using it as a good opportunity for some unique souvenirs (pin/lanyard) and the FPs!

The Welcome Tour Lanyard is a nice place to display other tour pins :thumbsup2

Although we did not us it, Aladdin seating is a nice perk :goodvibes
Remember to arrive at the Hyperion Theater before doors open, since the there is no special section in the theater (just a special line outside, which enters before the regular lines).

Oh, this may be an option for us, planning a last minute trip, NEVER have been to DL before, WDW too manytimes to count. How many fast passes do you get and is that along with World of Color? How long does the tour last, would kids ages 10 and 13 find it boring?

Does anybody know if it would be worth going on this tour if you are already going on the Walk in Walt's Footsteps Tour? What about the Holiday tour would that one be better?

Take the Holiday Tour :thumbsup2
You will ride attractions with a holiday overlay (last year: Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion, Small World), and have great reserved seats for the Christmas Parade

Anybody care to share a recent experience for the Welcome Tour?
I'm still on the fence about it in July.
I called the Ressie number to see if they could provide specific ride info and they couldn't really elaborate, although she was very polite :)

I'm on the fence also...

I really do like the idea of the special seating for Aladdin. I got hot in February waiting to enter the theater. I can only imagine what July/August will be like!!

What kind of discount did you get? Is there a military discount?

You may get 20% off if...
You have AAA card
Use your Disney Visa card to pay for the tour
You have a DL AP
Are a DVC owner

I've never tried this, just found the information on MouseSavers.

Thanks! We don't have any of those. :sad2: Behind the Seeds at WDW does give a military discount, so I was hoping for one here.
