Looking for ideas for a first dinner at Disney that immerses you in the Disney bubble. Family of 5, DD6,DS 3, DS 2. No dining plan and will have a car. All I can think of is Chef Mickeys, not sure we want to try it based on reviews and price. Will not be using a park ticket for this day.

We usually pick Chef Mickeys for our first dinner! There's just no better way! You get to see the Contemporary, the monorail, get a glimpse of cinderellas castle at MK, get to see Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, and Pluto! Dinner is average and the restaurant is complete chaos but what a way to start!

Yeah Chef Mickey's is definitely a love it or a hate it. I'm fall in the ladder category, but get where you are going with wanting to get in the Disney bubble. Without going into a park, and presuming your boys wouldn't want to do 1900 Park Fare with Cinderella, maybe TRex is an option for you. Not exactly Disney but full on dinosaur immersion. Plus you could get to Disney springs and go to world of disney, lego land, etc and get in the bubble that way.

Chef Mickey's. The food is meh! But, the experience is so uplifting with the characters and personal attention for pictures. We love it.
