Welcome to Disney Alaska! ~ Our first Disney endurance race (race day!)

So glad you are filling everyone in since I dropped off the radar here :)

One thing to mention, when you dump tables of water (gatoraide disappeared very quickly); guess what happens to water in subfreezing temps! IT FRIGGEN FREEZES ON THE ROAD WAY!!!! They started dumping tables before the last runners came through! This was at the DIRECTION of the commander in charge (who had no idea what he was doing)!

To continue our adventure, when we got back to the Boardwalk Villas we decided to shower and clean up. If you remember yesterday the water was luke warm. Well today it did not get any warmer. Now Pop Century had hot water and they aren't even DVC. Well i called to complain and they sent up their expert mechanical diagnostic specialist (my words). So the guy turns on the faucet and lets the water run for a minute. He then pulls out his thermo-nuclear measuring device. Thermometer. He holds right under the faucet as the water flows out. He turns to me and says it reads 100 degrees it is good to go. I look at him and tell him no that is not warm enough (in my mind i question if he knows the difference between an oral and a rectal thermometer). So once again i call to complain. Long story short; a manager tells me they are having problems with their boiler system trying to keep up do to the age of the boiler and the unique problem (freezing temperatures) in Orlando. I once again point out that the BV are DVC ownerships while Pop Century is not and they have plenty of hot water. They issue us a one day DVC points credit for our hardship. Next up: using our free daily pass and lunch in Canada.

Initially Aubre was to volunteer with us, but being sick and hurt we left her off the hook. She was concerned that she wouldn't get to go to the park since she didn't have a free ticket (this was one of the stipulations before coming, we weren't buying park passes this trip). Poor Aubre was so upset, I told her we'd pay for her to get into Epcot (we had to go there since we had a reservation for lunch at LeCellier). Well, a good friend had bought her kids tickets for the weekend and they didn't get used as she had anticipated, so she offered us a ticket for Aubre. That was so kind and helped us out tremendously. So after we warmed up some (not sure why we even bothered, it was still VERY cold out) we headed towards the Beach Club to meet up with my friend and then walked the International Gateway to the entrance to Epcot! We all had our medals on and lots of people we telling us congratulations. It was so neat.

We had to stop for our first photo op!

We had time before our lunch ressie, so we head to the future world and see what we can do over there. First up was grabbing a fast pass for Soarin! We then did the boat ride (the name slips my mind right now), but it’s relaxing and when your legs are tired, it was a great place to sit, relax and ‘rest your eyes’, lol!

We had to visit Sunshine Seasons as Aubre worked there when she did the College Program in 2007. She still had friends there! It was amazing that she has made friend all over the world and has kept contact with so many of them.

After that we headed over to Spaceship Earth.

Aubre rode by herself, so this is the only pic of her
