Welcome party ideas

We are having ours at the Fort Wilderness Campfire. Chip and Dale are there. It's a sing along, you roast marshmellows, they show a Disney movie, they also sell other foods if people want something else. Plus IT'S FREE. Just really thought it would be fun and relaxing.

Wow, Laura! I didn't even know that existed!! That sounds like sooo much fun! Even though we already decided on our rehearsal dinner, I might bring the flowergirl and ring bearer 2 nights before for some bonding/fun time! What an awesome idea!!!

Ohana is a popular option as well. I have also heard about people having pool parties with pizza.

chase the mini golf idea up, i distinctly remember another bride from here had a welcome party at one of the minigolf sites.

pool party that sounds great!!! what are some details on that idea i also love pizza and ice cream idea!!

I would also keep trying on the mini golf thing. I know there was a bride there last year that had her welcome party there (she had adults and kids). I can't remember her name right now but if I find it I will post it.

I also remember a bride having her welcome party there I will try to find out who it was in her planner it had a price and everythng. I am not sure if it was booked it actually as a party though I think I remember it saying she booked out the whole place costing something like $1000?

We were going to have a welcome party at winter summerland mini-golf,
but when we called today we were told we had to book through the manager at the mini-golf and he told us that we couldn't do it because
it's not really geared towards adults. (they have kis parties there all the time)
We don't want to have anything formal, we just wanna have fun
in a relaxed environment. We are having our desert party at Fantasmic so I don't want to do a desert party the night before.

Does anyone have any ideas about what we could do that wouldn't
be such a hassle to get everyone together for?
I am completely stumped!!!

That is interesting to here bc just yesterday I mentioned to my fiance that someone had posted they had a minigolf welcome party and thought that was a great idea and then I saw your post. I saw on All Ears Net that Fantasia golf has bday packages. Maybe they would do it? It mentions the phone # on the bottom of this page: http://www.allearsnet.com/btp/golf.htm

I was wondering if you had to do anything to arrange this, or did you just show up??

No you just show up. If you read the info in the thread i posted from allears.net it gives you more details.

Ok great thanks! Would it be crazy to bring 100 people? It is unlikely that all my guests will be there for the welcome party, but I can't exactly narrow it out.

I'm not sure. Maybe call Fort Wilderness? We are having about 45, so that seems to be a big difference. I really just put the information out there and if they want to come they can. It's just too difficult to keep up with everyone. GL

thanks, I will do. Thats what I plan on doing and I plan on having it 2 days or so before the wedding, so I don't think alot of people will be there yet either, that will help with the count too. Thanks for the help!

These are such great ideas!!!!! I did not even know about the campfire!!!!
We are hosting the rehersal dinner at Gaylord Palms resort gaylordhotels.com/gaylordpalms. One of their restaurants there is AMAZING and the atmosphere will be great for the group. Like most of the posters we wanted something a little more laid back for the night before!!!!! Good luck everyone they sound great.

Thats the one I was referring to. Glad you were able to find it. Sounds like a great time.

HI!

It was us that had the Welcome Party there. We did book through our EM. The party was not at all "geared" towards children. We had 4 or 5 there but the adults had more fun. The party hostess we had stated they had never done wedding welocme parties before but was thrilled with how much fun we had. I had alot of family come that were broken up because of a divorce and the party served as a great icebreaker for people that hadn't seen each other in years. Some had mini competitions on the golf course. The only thing I would have changed was to have Randy Chapman there to take pics. I was focused on capturing alot of pics so I would recommend designating someone or hiring a photographer for a few hours.

i had asked my planner abut this. it is what i wantd and she said they did not have a oavilion to have food and we could not buy it out. i wounder if things have changed??
