Welcome Home Weeks …crossbody bag !?

I’m at CCV right now and stopped by the DVC desk. The cast member gave me 2 buttons for the new DVC Cabins at Fort Wilderness, slider bands, ask how many lithographs I wanted from the Riviera (& seemed pretty disappointed when I said just one )… did not offer any welcome home weeks button (which was fine), and then she started talking to me about current welcome home weeks offerings.

She mentioned going to Saratoga Springs for the ice cream parlor which I already knew about, but then she said if you tour the DVC preview room at Saratoga Springs they have a new crossbody bag just for welcome home weeks to current DVC owners. That got my interest… she also said I would need to make a reservation (during just a few hours each afternoon), and I’m just wondering if it’s worth me taking the time out of my trip to go over there?

I haven’t seen anyone else mention it, nor have I seen pictures of it. Anyone gotten this? Seen a picture? Or heard more about it??

Nothing crazy. It's a windbreaker-type material but very light. Handy for lugging around our neck fans and umbrella when we weren't using them haha!

Thank you for the picture & description …I think if I can get one at the Riviera, I’d be happy to have it… but I’m not going to go out of my way for it

I got one the end of July. Agree. Don't go out of the way for it, but I will use it. Since it is the windbreaker material, I do not think I will put heavy stuff in it for fear of ripping. I got mine at Saratoga. We were staying there. If you want more than one, then you need to sign up separately and pretend you do not know each other in the informational portion. The presentation was about 30 minutes give or take and not pushy when I said (and many others) we were not ready to add on or speak to a guide. They wanted to share what current promotions they were offering that were not "public."

So, the first DVC rep at WL that I spoke to was totally chill & said the bags were only at SSR… no further info (she only answered what I asked- it was actually quite refreshing)… but the 2nd person I spoke with was very much in the mode to give a spiel (& I was running short on time!)

She said bags were being given away at SSR, RIV, & Disney Springs and she then said what @smrice95 referenced- there was a required 30 min presentation in order to get the bag. (I think this rep must be a person who does that sales pitch bc she probably gave me half of it right then & there!! ) I was out.

My girls decided they’d rather eat at WL’s WCC anyway, so we cancelled Topolino’s & enjoyed a lovely brunch in the lodge. I haven’t been to Riviera yet & was at DS super late last night… so, I didn’t even check.

I know the Member Weeks are technically over, but my guess is that they didn’t have too many people lining up for a 30 min sales pitch when we already own & it was only a small token afterwards. I’m thinking they’re either going to keep offering them at these presentations until they’re all gone… or they’ll be added to regular desks & just give them away now… we’ll find out soon enough.

The bag is probably the cheapest feeling bag I've every experienced. When they handed me the package, it felt like heavy air. I couldn't believe they made a bag that was so light-weight. We ended up leaving ours in our room when we left. I wouldn't trust it to hold much of anything without falling apart.

Definitely seek out the ice cream options though! We definitely took advantage of all of those we could!
