We purchased our first resale contract at BCV! We have 58 banked points that have to be used by end of Feb. We’re planning on going the week of Princess Half Marathon (my daughter is out of school that week)
We still don’t have our login from DVC yet so can’t view availability. Any chance BCV or BWV will be available that week? Would love to stay in our home resort on our first trip. Thanks for help you can provide

I would say that you have a very slim chance of getting anything at either of those 2 resorts. In fact, getting more than a couple of nights here and there at other resorts during the week leading up to the half marathon would be difficult today. Sorry I'm not bringing good news for you. That's a popular Spring Break week and we are well into the 7-month booking period for non-home resorts.

Unfortunately it’s going to be very difficult to get a reservation that week given we are only 6 months out.

I’d be prepared for a split stay, maybe take a room size you didn’t want, use the waitlist and stalk to piece it together.

We don’t allow people to actually post what is available because if you can’t book, it doesn’t matter since things change so often…but I can say it’s a popular week.

Hopefully you can’t get booked soon!

Also, as a resale owner DVC will not give you a welcome home trip priority - and in reality that benefit is not absolute even for direct buyers - they had nothing to offer me in a Riveria studio when I purchased even in the context of a " Welcome Home Stay." That is one of the reasons they do the late banking for direct customers.

Most DVC owners book their villas for the races at the 11 month mark. It is likely you could only find something if there are cancellations. Racers get their rooms early.

It's possible that OP doesn't know that "Welcome Home Stay" is used to mean getting help from your Guide (DVC salesperson) to book your first trip when you purchased your DVC contract direct from Disney.

The late banking allowed for direct purchases is actually part of the Home Resort Rules and Regulations.

It applies to anyone adding direct even those not eligible for a WelcomeHome stay.

Those special bookings are only given to those who are first time owners buying direct.

Even a resale owner who adds on direct points won’t get the benefit of getting help to book a Welcome Home stay with those points since they are already owners.

Thank you all for the replies. I figured this would be the case which is why we purchased BCV! Just haven’t gotten our points quick enough. We will still make it Magical!
