Welcome, Foolish Muggles! IoA/US/MK/SW *July 2013 Trip Report Link*

Dee - great report. Was very nice of you to share the Champagne. Thank you for sharing your trip. Looking forward to more sharing with your upcoming trip! Best wishes with the slide.

Rebecca

Well we didn't want to bring it home and we didn't want to waste it. Glad someone else could enjoy the Champagne. I enjoyed reliving the trip with everyone. I appreciate all of you who followed along!

Have a great week!

Dee

That was a very nice thing for you to give your champagne away to another couple! :)

Oh my word---the nerve of that lady! Thankfully you got YOUR seat!

Have a fun trip at Atlantis---Can't wait to see your pictures and find out if you make it down the slide!

Thanks so much for the trip report Dee-I've loved reading every bit of it:)
Dont think I'd like to travel on a "pet friendly" plane though:scared1:
Cant wait to hear about the family trip and I'm hoping we're still on track for the Y.E.S. trip (honestly think I've worried more about Nates school reports than my own sons:rotfl: ). Does that make me a bad mum? Probably but I so want to read how you do disney with 100 teens:scared1:

I planned to post replies the night before we left, but DIS was down all that night.

We figured they would enjoy it more than we would, and it would make a great story for them to share.

Yes, I am so glad I got my window seat. Mark was thrilled that he got to sit next to her for the whole flight! :rotfl: But there were no other issues.

We are having an awesome time, great weather, but I haven't quite had the opportunity (or nerve) to do the Leap of Faith. I did go down the Abyss, which is a another steep, dark slide, but I didn't love it. Nate has been dowon about 30 times!

Thanks so much for your wonderful comments. We are still on track for the class trip, from what I am hearing there are 185 students going! When I am back home, I'll send you some stuff additional stuff to read by PM.

I certainly appreciate your concern about Nate's grades! Someone needs to and it is not often him!

Talk soon!

Dee

How lovely to share the champagne!
A yippy dog might actually be worse than a crying baby!
Can't wait to read about Atlantis!

I had fun trying to spot the couple I deemed "worthy" of the gift.

I totally agree- yippy dog worse than crying baby!

I'm going to copy the 3 posts I put on the BC FAQ forum.

I'll do a very thorough review of Atlantis and the Comfort Suite resort starting later this week. Need to organize my pictures.

Atlantis Waterpark

The waterpark portion of Atlantis includes activities and slides for all ages. There are very small kiddie slides and climbing structures, 4 tubes slides including one that goes through the shark tube, and some very high, steep, intense body slides, a calm lazy river, a crazy "lazy" river called the Current

Leap of Faith/Serpent Slide- the LoF is a very steep body slide that takes you through the shark tube. Ben was the only one who tried it in 2009. Mark and Nate each went once during this trip. Parallel to the Leap of Faith is the Serpent Slide, a tube ride through the shark tunnel. We did this ride a lot.

Tube Slides in the Power Tower (like Slusher-Gusher at Typhoon Lagoon):

Challenger Slides- Mark and I did this once. I beat him by .03 seconds

Looks like fun for little ones:

Best. LazyRiver. EVER!!! (Sorry Stormalong Bay)- The entire river takes about 30 minutes- yes we timed it- there are calm parts, conveyer belts, turnoffs to get to the Power Tower Ride and there is a building that produces tidal waves so some portions of the river are extremely wavy. I was tipped off my raft once and I accidentally ran in to a woman and tipped her at one point.

And my final post will be about snorkeling. This is one of our family's favorite activities. We booked a 30 minute Snorkel in the Ruins (the Digs Aquarium), where we got to swim with the amazing Manta Rays, sharks and much more. This was majorly cool!!!

This is the only picture of the 4 of us from the trip and Ben has a water spot over his face. :headache:

Snorkeling in the Lagoon:

We also did some snorkeling "in the wild", at the Cove Beach and mostly at the lagoon. This was Ben's first time really snorkeling and he LOVED it! He was especially excited because we saw more than 10 small barracuda (I think they were actually southern sennet) and we saw a small spotted ray.

We also took an afternoon tour of Nassau: Fort Charlotte, the Government House, the British Colonial Hotel, the Queens Stairway, Fish Fry and more. It was a nice break from all the water!

This concludes our preview tour of Atlantis, but I will have a full report, in EXCRUCIATING detail, and pages and pages of pictures of our trip and comments about our stay at the Comfort Suites :thumbsup2 coming up in my Welcome Foolish Muggles TR.

I'll let everyone know when I start that up.

Thanks for coming along with me.

Loved all the snorkeling pictures! Looks like you guys had a blast, there is so much to do at that resort. I stayed at the Wyndham when I was in the Bahamas, but had friends staying at Atlantis so we hung out there with them for a few days. It is an incredible resort.

Can't wait to hear all about the fun you had!

Good, because I have a whole lot more. The snorkeling was so much better than we thought it would be. Have you snorkeled? Where?

We did not even come close to being bored in the 4 days we were there.

I'll probably start the report at the end of the week. Still organizing photos!

I loved all of the pictures of Atlantis and the snorkeling pictures were wonderful. I can't wait to see more of them.

What a tease!!!! :lmao:
The pictures look amazing! Can't wait to hear the full details...

Thank you! The place is just over the top gorgeous! We went through the Digs Aquarium at least twice each day, it was especially nice right after breakfast because nobody else was there.

I am still going through all my photos! Since we visited the Digs at least twice a day, and went on the rides multiple times during the trip, I have lots of duplicates and pictures that are not in any particular order.

Don't worry, when I finally get down to it there will be LOTS of photos and details!

Great pics from Atlantis. I got to go a few years ago as a "favor" to my boss for a business trip. Very cool! We are taking a Disney cruise next April and I am still trying to decide if this excursion is worth the $.

I love to snorkel. I've been snorkeling in the Bahamas, Aruba, Puerto Vallarta, Curacao, Antigua, St. Thomas and St. Kitts. The coolest snorkeling experience I've had has been in Aruba. There's a ship from WWII that is sunk just off the coast, that's one of the snorkeling stops on the daylong trips. There's a whole reef that's sprung up in and around the ship, it's a very cool sight.

Yay! Good luck with the organizing, I'm sure there are about a million photos. ;) I'll be front and center once the TR starts. :surfweb:

Oh my goodness I'm so behind with everything on the Dis-finally getting caught up today I hope:rotfl:
Loving all your pics so far-that place looks amazing!
I've never snorkled-not sure if I'm brave enough- but it looks really cool!
Cant wait to hear more:)
