Welcome, Foolish Mortals...to an October 2011 PTR! *Trip Report link is up, pg 71!!*

YAY! Mickey Mail! I love the new luggage tags, they are much nicer than the flimsy paper ones they had before :thumbsup2

Oh wow... is it bad I have yet to go eat at ANY of the restaurants you listed? lol I really want to go try out Le Cellier, Boma and a ton others you listed, but still I don't know how to fit those all into one trip. Hopefully someday when I go for two weeks  Let's see how that works out.

Happy birthday on Tuesday! :cake: Yay for Mickey mail! The new luggage tags are cute! I have missed getting them for our past two trips since we didn't do packages. Thankfully we'll be getting some on our February trip! :woohoo:

Love you restaurant list! I think mine would be a mile long - I have so many favorites, too! :goodvibes

:yay: for Mickey Mail! Almost time :)

Great favourite choices too :thumbsup2

How great is that day when there's Mickey mail waiting in your mailbox???? Aren't the new luggage tags cute? I love the little hologram.

Your favorite restaurants are great ones!! I totally think Sleepy Hollow counts, that's where my favorite funnel cake is from!

Yay on getting Mickey Mail!! :woohoo: I also like the new luggage tags though think that is because I have never seen the old ones in person!

Love the restaurant and CS reviews - can't wait to eat at some of those places (such as Boma, EoS and Chefs de France) and then hear what you thought of them as well.

Btw have a great long weekend and a lovely birthday :goodvibes

Your list makes my mouth water!!! It all sounds so yummy!!!
We eat at Boma for dinner every time we go to WDW :)

Hope you have a Happy Birthday on Tuesday!!!! :)

LOL, well, the old luggage tags are cute, but they've been the same for a few years, and it's nice that they finally changed them! I'll have to use the old ones on 2 of our bags (and I have to tell you, it's really bothering me that they're not all going to match! )

I can't wait to try Chef's! I think I'm looking forward to that one the most! :thumbsup2

Thanks! I'm not really doing anything for my birthday, but I'm happy to not have to work! :rotfl:

I really do love those luggage tags! I keep thinking I might call Disney and ask for 2 more, but that's kind of ridiculous...:rolleyes1

I love Sleepy Hollow, the funnel cake is so good! :thumbsup2 And I love that they have Mickey waffles, it's a nice place for a quick breakfast in the morning, while everyone else is trying to cram into the bakery on Main Street!

:yay: for Mickey Mail! Almost time

Great favourite choices too :thumbsup2

I love getting Mickey Mail, it makes the trip seem SO close! Now I'm wondering how I'm going to get through the next 3 and a half weeks!

Thanks! I keep thinking I will get more Mickey mail for our first night, since we are staying at CSR before switching to WL but then I remember, they don't send Mickey Mail for room only reservations! :sad1: I'm glad you will finally get some luggage tags! :cool1:

I had to try to keep the restaurant list short! There are so many I left off, but then again, I love almost all of the WDW restaurants I've been to, so it's tough to pick favorites!

You definitely have to go to Le Cellier someday, it's amazing! And Boma is my favorite place for breakfast right now, it replaced Crystal Palace!

I can never fit in every restaurant I want to go to, and I'm going for 10 days this year...that's why you have to keep going back!

26 days woo!!! You made my mouth water and I live 10 mins from all that yummyness!!!!

OMG!!! So I just realized that I'm going to be staying at Disney the same time you are there :) I haven't gotten to that part of my Annual TR but we'll be there Friday 30th-Monday 3rd. We're going to be at CSR (thought about AKL lol) but are currently debating about switching to 2 rooms at POP with a QS DDP since I'm not able to add the DDP with my friend's CM discount..anyways lol...

We're going to be at MNSSHP on the 30th too!!!! I think we might do DHS on the 1st, and Epcot for FandW on the 2nd. My parents are leaving on the 3rd and I'll have to work but hopefully we'll get a chance to meet up..if not at MNSSHP, maybe sometime during the weekend or week! :)

Part of the reason Brandon keeps agreeing to go back to WDW is to eat! :rotfl: I love that the restaurants are such a big part of the trip!

Wow, I didn't know you will be there the same time I will either! I'm sure I will run into you at some point! I'm not sure about MNSSHP, I think I might make a plan for the first one, just to make sure we get everything done I want to do, so the 2nd one can be a little more leisurely and not so planned out! There is just so much I want to do and see! I think we might be doing DHS on the 1st, but I'm not sure, since we are doing Epcot first that day, but if we make it over, maybe we'll see you there! Our plans are so up in the air for that weekend right now, it's stressing me out a little! :rotfl:

Thanks!

I would love to try Boma for dinner, but it kind of scares me, I'm not sure I'll like all of the weird stuff they have there! I've heard that it is really good though...someday I'll be brave and try it!

It is DELICIOUS :)

My DH is a picky eater and doesn't like to try new things, but he LOVED Boma, and he initiates us going back there everytime without me having to!:cool1:

On our disneymoon a few years ago, he had an allerigc reaction to a nut covered salmon dish... this is how we found out he was allergic to tree nuts haha!!! He still loves going there though!

Sleepy Hollow - Interesting. I have never eaten anything from there so now I am curiouse. Hmmmmmmmmm.........

I think you will love Chefs. I really, really loved my lunch there. And Via Napoli - OMG - I was editing my pictures yesterday and those waiters are way hotter than the food. :rotfl:

Your food picks are making me hungry!!! :goodvibes

I know, me too! I can't wait to be there and get to eat at all these fantastic places!

OMG, what a strange way to find out you have an allergy, at Disney!

Mmmm, Sleepy Hollow is so good! The funnel cakes are amazing, and they have huge Mickey waffles for breakfast! And no one seems to know, because they're all waiting in a huge line at the Bakery! We ate breakfast there in November, and we had the whole seating area to ourselves, with this perfect view of the castle! :lovestruc

I can't wait to finally try Chef's, I think I'm going to love it! And Via Napoli sounds amazing too! :woohoo:

Some new stuff and a question

Hi guys! So I totally forgot to tell you all about my new camera, that I got maybe a month ago, and am SO excited about! It's a Panasonic Lumix

410UqVVkLL_SL500_AA300_.jpg

which I've read are really good cameras, so I can't wait to try it out in Disney! My main concerns were getting good pictures at night and good action shots, and I guess this camera is supposed to do well with both! And it has a ridiculous zoom, so that will be fun to play around with! Until I learn how to use a DSLR, this will have to be good enough!

This camera is a little bigger than my Canon that I've used on my last few trips so I had to search for a new camera case, and I think I finally found one that I like:

Cute right? I'm just not sure it's big enough, I just ordered it online, so when I get it in a few days, we'll see if it fits! And if not, I have a purple backup case I can use, but I like the pink one because of the extra pocket in the front! :cool1:

I also bought myself a birthday present yesterday when Brandon and I went to the mall to go to the Apple store to fix my IPhone (long story, but it broke and I ended up getting a new one!). I stopped in the Vera Bradley store and found this:

The medium cosmetic bag! I love that pattern, I'm so happy I bought it! And I only paid $5 for it! When you sign up to get emails with from VB, they ask for your birthday to send you a $20 off coupon, and when I told them my b-day was today, they let me take off $20!

I've also been busy getting random little things for my trip, like new Crocs, flip flops, and I've started buying toiletries! It's getting close now! I feel like this week will go by pretty fast, since I only have 3 days of work to get through, but I think the next 2 weeks will drag...I'm dreading them! :rotfl: Then again, I have so much to do still to get ready, I guess I'll need that time to prepare everything! I feel like I'm very unorganized right now!! :scared1:

Now for the question...I need your opinions on our first day plans!

We are supposed to be checking in to CSR around 11, HOPEFULLY our room will be ready and we will rest til around 1 or 2. Then we'll go to Epcot, have lunch at Chef's de France, hang out in Epcot for a while, then go over to DHS for the night and see Fantasmic.

My question is, do I really need to see Fantasmic? Is it THAT good? This is my only chance during this trip to see it, and I kind of want to, but...I kind of want to reverse the order we're going to the parks that day! I'd rather start with DHS and end with Epcot. I'd like to try to do some things in DHS that we never do, like go to Starring Roles, do the animation class, maybe see the Beauty and the Beast show...if we go there too late, we will miss them, as always!

I keep thinking I should just change my ADR from lunch to dinner at Chef's and plan to switch the order of parks, but then I feel like I will regret seeing Fantasmic! We only saw it that one time, in 2008, and we missed the beginning, and stood way in the back. We liked it, but obviously not enough to make it a priority, or we would see it all the time, like we do with Wishes and Illuminations!

So you can see the dilemma here right? :rotfl: Ugh, Disney and their choices, there's just too much to do!!! Any advice would be very helpful!

Have a great week everyone! :goodvibes

Ha ha, sounds like you are having the same dilemma I was having. And I still haven't decided what I'm going to do.

I didn't want to change my plans around too much and I wouldn't suggest your doing that either. I really like my plans the way that they are and I think you probably feel the same way. I would keep your plans the way they are and PLAN on seeing Fantasmic that night. However, if you miss it, I wouldn't be too beat up about it. It's a good show, but not a must see for me either.

Skip it!! I would definitely switch DHS and Epcot. Get the things in DHS over with and go to Epcot for dinner and Illuminations!

Love the new camera! Seems like you picked a good one :thumbsup2 Can't wait to see how all your pictures in WDW turn out (:

For me, I couldn't miss another Fantasmic or I'd kill myself about it all the way home. I missed it on my last trip and it was a regret and based on the fact you haven't seen the whole show, especially the beginning, which... while not the best part, the show is all over the place if you miss that, so I would give it a chance. I think it would be a great start to the trip, but if you have something better to do at the time and you are looking forward to it, skip the show.

:woohoo: on getting a new camera!! Although I do not know much about them it looks like a good buy - can't wait to see the pics you take with it.

Now the camera case and VB cosmetic bag is something I do know about! Love both of them and yay on getting the cosmetic bag for $5 - what a great birthday treat! :thumbsup2

I would personally want to watch Fantasmic however as you have seen some of the show and have other new experiences you want to try in DHS I would skip the show and change the Chefs ADR to a dinner one so you can end the night with Illuminations. Hope this helps you in making a final decision :goodvibes

Congrats on the new camera! Enjoy! I'm sure you will!!!!

The Fantasmic Dilemma - Hmmmmmm - My personal feeling is you should see it from start to finish from good seats at least once. That being said, I haven't seen it in two years. I stopped trying to go once they cut back on the number of shows.

Remember - if you don't see it this time there is always next time! Right????

Gee- I was a lot of help, wasn't I? :rotfl:

I can't really give my advice, because I am torn :rotfl: I think everyone should see Fantasmic! all the way through at least once, but it is such a pain to get in there to see it, so I always skip it now!! I also love things like the animation class at DHS....so I am no help :rotfl:

Personally, I don't know what to say... since I'm in the same boat. I've never seen Fantasmic myself, but with all the comments I hear about the hassle getting to/from it (and with how much I already love Wishes/Illuminations) we might just skip it altogether. :confused3

I'll be interested to hear what you decide, though, and what you think of it if you do go!:thumbsup2
