I want to do "Welcome to Disney" baskets for each of my kids that are like the ones made by the Disney florist. Please, help me add to them! Here is what I have so far:

Boxes wrapped in black/red/yellow paper containing 18" plush Mickey (just purchased from the buy 1, get 1 sale at Disneystore.com), homemade autograph books with a clickable sharpie, glow stuff for evenings, and a new Disney t-shirt. What else can I add? My kids are DD6, DD4, and DS1. Thanks!

Sounds like a great basket all ready! A few things I might add would be sunglasses, a couple of Disney dollars, a hat if they wear them, a hand held fan or mister and a lanyard if you think they would like it.

May I highly recommend "memories by Betsy"? She is awesome!!!! We used her twice to put together special baskets for our kids. She's cheaper than Disney florist, does a beautiful job.. Goes all out with shopping to help u save a few bucks etc. We even shipped some stuff to her to include in their packages such as homemade autograph books, a princess dress, Disney dollars...even a Vera Bradley bag for my daughters basket. I'll be calling her again soon for our march trip. Just google her. I'd post the link but I'm on my iPhone

If you have a Dollar Tree in your town: there are plenty of Mickey Mouse/friends things. I have collected many things theto se last few months including ping ball paddles, pencils, bubbles, Mickey Straw sipper cup (with to that screws on and has ears and straw that retracts inside to keep clean and it has a lanyard to let him carry around his neck if he wants) etc . We have a welcome basket, plus "mickey" leaves presents in our room each night if he has been good (which at DW, how can he not be?)! I even heard one person say they put Mickey footprints out each night. Hope you have a great time.

I would do a lanyard with a pin or two, you could probably find some on ebay and some light spinners (not sure if that's what you meant by glow stuff), maybe some of those little washclothes that expand

I did Memories by Betsey and my baskets were really cute (expensive). BUT..I had requested a princess lanyard and a princess spinner for my little girl. She said they had no princess spinners so she got Nemo. I said okay. The lanyard was pink with no princesses. After I went shopping at World of Disney in DTD (where I think she shops too) I realized they do carry a princess lanyard and a "girly" Minnie spinner which I think was a little closer to my request than Nemo. I was a little annoyed to be honest.

I couldn't agree more! Great baskets - same stuff, VERY reasonable prices.

The website pics do not do that baskets justice, but in case you want to have a look - http://www.memoriesbybetsy.com/Memories_by_Betsy/Welcome.html

Whomever you pick, I'm SURE you kids will LOVE their welcome gifts! :love:

Memories by Betsy is fantastic!

I would add a lanyard and a pin and maybe a Disney giftcard.

Hoping that image works. This is a pic of the three baskets Memories by Betsy did for us 2 years ago. I also had a bathroom basket made up with some Disney bubble bath, toothbrushes, Ariel hairbrush, expandable disney washcloths etc.

Everything was waiting in the room for us when we got to our room.

Betsy was a great communicator, calling us, checking on different items, letting me know if something wasn't available or was priced more than she origiinally quoted. Every time I called her she answered the phone right away. She shopped at Target for some of the stuff which definitely saved money. Last year she did a rush job for me and everything was perfect. She also had some great suggestions for items I hadn't thought of.

I'm trying to think of something different for this trip with just me and dd.

This is her website:

I thought her prices were extremely reasonable, considering you're paying someone else to put together something for you..way more reasonable than going directly through a Disney company, and the personal service was amazing. It really made our trips extra special.

It is fun to make up and sneak in your own baskets...and a lot more budget friendly!! Here are some more ideas:

* goggles for the pool
* sippy cup for baby
* change purse with quarters and pennies for penny press
* jibbitz if you croc
* hair barettes, bows, bands, etc
* stickers and tattoos
* assortment of character figures from the pvc character sets (from the Disney Store)
* link bracelet or necklace to add charms to....charms to be collected from WDW!

Please share pics of your custom baskets!!

Thanks everyone for the great ideas! I am keeping a list and trying to pick things up on sale. Thanks again!
