Weird stuff in Bathtub Jets? HELP!

I saw the same episode! They disolved about 5 of the dishwashing tablets in a bucket of boiling water, yup the ones you put in instead of of dishwasher powder. Then they dumped the dishwasher mixture into a tub full of water and turned on the jets. You have to skim the junk off the top so it doesn't go back into the jet system but it seemed to work pretty well. No jet-dry required!

You guys have been a world of help. What about dishwashing detergent-- like cascade? anyone used that for less foam?

I use Cascade Complete once a quarter in both my Jacuzzi and my front-load washing machine. Any dish detergent with enzymes will work!

You said that slimey stuff was coming out of the jets when you turned them on right? Try to scoop it out with a fish net or something similar before it gets sucked back into the intake. That will take the slime out of the system. BTW: Love your signature picture!

UPDATE: Tonight I ran the jets with bleach and a tub of warm water for 30 minutes. I then emptied it out, refilled it to make sure none was still stuck in the vent-- and ran it again. You would be amazed at all the stuff that came out the first go round. It turned the black skum pretty clear. Im very very pleased-- and the pink stuff is gone too!!

Im so excited and what to thakn each of you for offering up help!! I have my bathtub back!!!

Just wanted to add something. This happens to me too. I have also noticed that if our Jacuzzi tub isn't used (even w/o the jets) in over a week that the water turns like a light brown color (I suppose from dirt in the pipes from not being used). So whther ot not anyone uses that tub..I still run the water in there once a week. To clean our jets Dh uses some special jacuzzi something he ordered from Jacuzzi.
