My friend always uses a lumbar pack to carry stuff in the parks. She will be in the very early weeks like 4 or 5 when she goes next. Can she use a lumbar pack safely?? I dont think she has even thought about it as it is her first child and everything is new and strange to her about what she can do and not do.
Thanks for your help! :)

Silly question here... how does she know she will be 4 weeks pregnant on her next trip? Wouldn't that be the "I'm late, time to buy a test" week? I think of myself as an overplanner, but this sounds like a lot of planning to me!!!

As long as there isn't too much weight in the pack then she will be fine. I went backpacking when pregnant with my first and carried almost 20 pounds for several miles a day over several days. Short of really overdoing it, she should be able to do anything she normally does.

Most people don't even know they are PG at 4-5 weeks. Her fetus will be teeny tiny and will not be effected by either the weight on her back or the strap on her waist. Personally I did everything (including the thrill rides) when I was 8 weeks PG and visted Disneyland. 5 weeks later at WDW I cut back on the thrill rides but I remembered carrying a pack. She's pregnant, not made out of china.

:rotfl: Yes she is an over planner and you are right that it would be soo early in the preganacy. I guess I have been hearing her talk as though it has already happened I am buying into her panic. If you knew this girl and how determined she can be you will not doubt she WILL be pegnant by the time she goes to WDW. Thanks for the replies.
