Weird and Ninja’s Pre-Disneymoon [Completed!]

I remember being so hot in May that I thought I was going to die, we had a frozen lemonade and it perked us right back up - something about them is just so refreshing!

Sorry you didn't enjoy The American Adventure all that much, I love it, but then again, I love history so that helps.

Yuck, I can't even imagine the heat in May since I was already miserable at that time in April! The temperature wasn't that bad; it was just the sun beating down on us with not that much shade around. Once we got into the shade and had that yummy drink, all was well with the world!

The show was okay; I think it was just a bit too long for me to fully enjoy. And of course, the sick person in front of me probably made me more aware of the time we were sitting there!

I have missed so many wonderful updates! But I'm all caught up now! I love reading about your time in the WS! It makes me so excited to go back! :goodvibes

I have never tried a Kim Possible mission before, but I would love to someday! I have already decided that I am DEFINITELY doing PAP our next trip. That is one of the things that I had never even heard about until I read about it on Joni's (the other one, haha!) TR. I love jewelry, so I'm going to be all over that!

Your pictures are so pretty! I love the American Pavilion. When we took my sister in March 2009 I fell asleep during the show, though! DH and I saw the Voices of Liberty once and we were blown away by them! They were incredible!

We already know we're going to get 2 FP for Kim Possible next February!

Ooo, I can't wait to read about your Pick a Pearl experience! Haha, it might make me really want to do it too ...

Wouldn't an event at the American Pavilion just be absolutely gorgeous? So regal and formal yet not in a cold way. I think the show is very much like Hall of Presidents ... they both have their good points, but it really is just a huge theater in AC made for napping ...

I just wanted to tell you, I was messing around on the Disney Store website and they have the F&G Festival Vinylmation figure that you wanted on sale for $9.99! :)

Oh cool! I think I'll hold on to that $10 though and get the mug I want from the Disney store!

I have never in all fourteen Disney trips I've ever taken, gone inside the America pavilion. I think it would be nice to escape the heat, but i'd rather do it somewhere else where I won't be bored. I might do it the next trip, but only if I'm hot and tired. Anyway, loved the update and thought the frozen lemonade pics were to cute :cutie: I love those, and def will get one the next time;) I'm off to read your PTR update:goodvibes

It's a good show to see at least once. I think it was just getting to be a bit much because I didn't recognize everyone. I had to ask my mom who was who (like in terms of past Presidents).

Hi everyone! Just posting the link to my PTR once again, hehe, because there I only have a few readers! To lure you over, I have 2 updates for today, yes, I said 2!!! One of them has recent Disney purchases in it too!!!

And on top of that, I just posted round 3 of Character Scrambler! You know you wanna play :thumbsup2

I am still there, just haven't gotten around to posting since I had school today and I have to head out the door in a minute anyway. I really want to play the game though!

Oh, and since we're doing shameless plugs for PTRs, I started a new one for March too (the link is in my TR...gotta put it in my signature!). ;)

ohhh..... I'm so far behind. A girl goes to Disney for one little weekend, and I miss a whole bunch.

We never seem to make the show times to American Adventure. I love history, so hopefully, some day we will! And yes.... you can have your wedding reception and/or ceremony at the American Adventure. You know... if you have a Disney wedding :rotfl: There are also rooms above the pavilion. We looked at them for our reception - they're really beautiful.

The lemonade pictures are hilarious!

Add me to the list of people who have never gone into the American Adventure.
But, while reading your TR, I keep adding things to my list for the next trip and now this one is on there, too! :thumbsup2
You're totally inspiring me! :goodvibes

I understand what you mean about the future generations not really grasping what 9/11 was really like. I can watch WWII programs and think about my grandpa and get choked up but I don't feel a "connection" to it. I think that's what 9/11 will be like for my daughters' generation, because they were just too young to fully comprehend what was happening that day.
I can't even imagine what it was like for you and your friends and family being so close to the site.

OK, off to read your PTR and get some new ideas, LOL! :cool1:

I love the KP missions with all the interactive things! Its so much fun to do!

I heard that the candy lady doesn't give her creations away anymore. I bet one parent complained that her child didn't get one and that was nipped in the bud. :sad2:

I think its funny that so many things freak you out but you live in/near NYC where there are many things that freak me out there! :rotfl2:

I'll be heading over to your PTR soon! I have it bookmarked but I have a couple of TRs to catch up on now that I'm back! :thumbsup2

Hi! :wave2:

I'm playing catch-up, but I'm about to have to stop and I just wanted to comment before you think I've forgotten about you! I'm only up to Monday, April 5...but I did see a couple of really awesome Tronorail photos and I can't wait to go back and really look at them! :goodvibes

Going back....
I love those tilt shift videos, too!

Making paper looks like fun--I'll have to look for it next time! There are so many things to do in the Innoventions buildings that we never do them all, we're usually so overwhelmed and just keep walking to see what all else it there, then end up only doing a couple things! And missing out on really great ones, like the Velcro frogs! That sounds like fun, too! And I loved that you added in some of your Velcro knowledge! :goodvibes

I'm glad you guys got to do the Segway training! We went through that before the tour we did a few years ago. I must have looked super nervous because the CM kept asking me if I was ok! :rotfl: It did take me a while to get my bearings, though! But it was fun!

Woohoo for your new trip too! I really enjoy the feeling of knowing there's a trip even if it's going to take many many MANY school days to get there. I decided that Fridays will be the day I do vocabulary with my 6th graders because it's during 8th period. I always have fun with it because that's the period a week that I talk ALL about Disney. When I give sample sentences, I make them all about Disney, and that gives me the perfect opportunity to throw in some Disney trivia! For example, yesterday I explained to them that the animatronic Gutenberg is holding up an exact replica of the Gutenberg Bible in Spaceship Earth!

Anyway, I gave a sentence about how I was "intent" (one of their words) on planning the best trip ever in February (or something like that), and one kid goes, "February's really far away." Haha, in Disney time, it's really not, but in school time, it really is!!!

ohhh..... I'm so far behind. A girl goes to Disney for one little weekend, and I miss a whole bunch.

I have a feeling I'm going to be catching up on a ton of your updates all at once. I haven't been spending time on DIS! I've been reading food reviews and such, but I haven't gone on any threads where I write comments because I know I won't devote enough time to them now since I'm always so frantic about everything.

I think that if I knew more history and recognized more faces, it'd be more fun. Haha, I should print out a who's who before watching it again!

Disney wedding is out of the picture right now. Like 99% out of the picture, haha. I was so tempted to elope when we're there this upcoming February, but I know my cousin would NOT like that because she's having fun planning the wedding!

I think i could go for some of that lemonade now to perk me up as I'm trying to get lessons planned!

Add me to the list of people who have never gone into the American Adventure.

It's nice how there are still so many things to do at Disney. I mean, we purposely skipped France because it was so crowded, and at the time, I didn't really care that we were skipping it. When I get home, I think about how I could've just stopped by, but of course, it's just something to definitely do next time!

Yeah, even the students in the NY area who are really young (like my brother's age) don't fully understand it. When it's on a school day and the year has started, we do have a ceremony for it. But many of the students can be naughty because they just don't understand the gravity of it even when we have parents or older students go up to say the name of someone they lost. I guess to some degree it's a good thing because I know I had a fairly simple childhood in a bubble, and they should have that same chance to feel sheltered and protected too.

I love the KP missions with all the interactive things! Its so much fun to do!

I heard that the candy lady doesn't give her creations away anymore. I bet one parent complained that her child didn't get one and that was nipped in the bud. :sad2:

So it is true about the candy then! I remember reading it, but once I had to write it, I didn't want to pass along incorrect information. I wonder what happens to all the creations after each show.

Haha, I think things will freak me out wherever I go! Someone I used to go to church with moved to North Carolina for work. He took pics of buffalo/bison in his "backyard." Oh DEAR! Haha, there are just fears everywhere!

Hi! :wave2:

Totally understand not being around and then having to catch up! With the new school year, that's happening to me right now. Haven't been reading any of the threads I normally read. I'll have to play catch up later on. Since I haven't been updating, you're probably all caught up! Haha, still have Monday, April 5 updates to write ...

Since the year started, I realized that I can now talk about the Disney velcro frog station when I go over the velcro story as practice for the state test with the 8th grade this year!!!

Monday, April 5: World Showcase on Speed

Whoa, you can tell that the start of the school year really took over because it's now the 26th of September and the last time I wrote an update was the 4th! I am back today though despite the massive amount of work I have to do. I just need a good DIS break since I haven't really had one in a while. I've been reading one or two TR updates a day if that. I need some DISNEY!!!

After our rest and relaxation in The American Adventure, we continued on in World Showcase with my family. Weird snapped this shadow picture of us! Haha, mushy and all, but I like it! I mean, it IS a Disney shadow!

IMG_1884.jpg

What a pleasant walk with a spectacular view! I don't think I looked across the water that often because I get really caught up in the countery we're in at the moment. I'll have to do that on my next trip!

IMG_1886.jpg

We didn't spend any time in Italy because we were kind of tired at that point.

IMG_1889.jpg

I do have to say though, how unreal is the color of that sky?

IMG_1891.jpg

I did know, however, that I wanted to check out the gondola on the water in Italy. I read that it was going to be part of a ride in that pavilion. It never came through because of the cost or the need for the manpower or something. I told Mickey about it, but he still wanted to ride it anyway.

IMG_1896.jpg

Mickey, it's okay. You'll just have to learn that sometimes a picture will suffice.

IMG_1898.jpg

Moving on to Germany ... we didn't spend time here either because it was crowded. I did want Weird to see the train station though. There were a good amount of people around. Guess they were all there to watch the wedding! Haha, I thought it was funny to see that guy sitting on the mountain range. Looks like he was madly in love with the bride but lost his chance to be with her and now he's regretting his decisions as he has to watch the love of his life marry another man.

IMG_1900.jpg

If you didn't know any better, wouldn't you think that was a real train surrounded by real trees? It could pass as not miniature if you look at it quickly.

IMG_1905.jpg

Chugga chugga choo choo!

IMG_1908.jpg

I liked the little greenhouse! My mom always wanted a greenhouse even if it was just on the front balcony or something so she could grow things all year round.

IMG_1913.jpg

This is where Weird and I could totally live. On a farm! The work you do is for a reason, and you can literally see the fruits of your labor!

IMG_1914.jpg

Chugga chugga, traveling to Disney World via Amtrak!

IMG_1915.jpg

And here's a building ... um, still in Germany? This is back to life-sized!

IMG_1919.jpg

I love that I didn't see this AT ALL. Only when I was going through Weird's pictures did I see this! So much for paying attention to details, huh.

IMG_1921.jpg

It's quite amazing how Disney can make you feel so immersed in a little city or town by the architecture of the pavilions.

IMG_1925.jpg

The one thing I knew I wanted to see in Germany was the pickle tree! Basically, the pickle ornament is hidden somewhere on the tree, and the first kid who finds it gets an extra present! I think that's a cute tradition to have, but I can imagine being upset if I were the kid who DIDN'T find the pickle if it were just my older brother and me. Haha, I can also imagine a group of kids attacking a tree in the hopes of finding it.

IMG_1929.jpg

Disney ornaments in Germany. Love the classic look of them.

IMG_1932.jpg

We're really going to have to do World Showcase on our own so that we can explore everything instead of skimming through the pavilions.

IMG_1933.jpg

At this point, I was starting to drag a little. I was actually feeling hungry.

IMG_1935.jpg

Oh wait, remember those chicken nuggets that mom was keeping in the little cooler? Woohoo! Haha, don't mind my chipmunk cheeks; I already had some chicken in there.

IMG_1938-1.jpg

As we continued our walk, we saw the Snow White topiaries. Look at Doc! Haha, the one who LOOKS smart because of his glasses but is actually kinda ... not! Well, at least with his speech~

IMG_1939.jpg

I wonder what these topiaries would do at night a la Kingdom Keepers ... it'd be creepy especially since some of them don't have faces!

IMG_1940.jpg

(Too many photos, continued in the next post)

(Continued from previous post)

Pillow pets! I thought it was cool to see them here because they also sell them at the local mall at one of the stands near the food court. Don't know if it's the same brand, but they were so cute to see.

IMG_1944.jpg

We stopped at the African Outpost, and Weird took a picture of this. The best part of this was the fact that my dad picked it up and was actually willing to take a picture with the creepy head on a stick! It's the pic I put for his cast introduction, but his face is covered so the full effect isn't there. It is hilarious though! ESPECIALLY if you know my dad!

IMG_1947.jpg

I do have to comment though and say ... when will you ever need a head on a stick?

IMG_1949.jpg

More cute plushies! I think it'd be so difficult to bring a stuffed animal loving kid to Disney because he/she is going to want EVERYTHING.

IMG_1956.jpg

One thing I wanted to see was the Coca Cola ice machine that sprays water! I walked around looking for it and tugging on random things until I finally found it!

IMG_1957.jpg

I thought it was going to spray me in the face!

IMG_1960.jpg

It just sprays just the right amount of water to get some mist on ya while also being kind of a surprise if you didn't know it was there.

IMG_1963.jpg

Love how Disney adds these touches here and there when it's technically not even necessary. There are Coke bottles in "ice" in that display, and I'm sure that would've been enough, but it's cute that they added the water feature.

IMG_1966.jpg

We continued our journey until we came upon the pavilion that we were going to explore for a bit. Can you guess which one it was? This transition picture should be a clue!

IMG_1968.jpg

lovely update.. I've never noticed that Coca Cola coolbox.. must look for that next trip!

Wish I was in World Showcase right now lol

Emma princess: x

I hope you're not saying that WE have to explore separately because how could I part with you in WDW? It just wouldn't be right. Especially if we're going again in February. It'll be chilly enough to hold hands all the time. You said so! :lovestruc

Never heard of the Coke ice box!! That's so cool!
Hmmm, wonder where you guys are going now...:thumbsup2

You and Weird are so cute :cutie:
(P.S. When we were in WDW last January, it was plenty cold for some "necessary" hand holding and line-snuggling - you know only to keep warm )

So cool you found the Coke box. I wanted to go look for it, but we were kind of powering through Epcot on this last trip and didn't really go into the World Showcase.

And I had no idea about the gondola ride. I'll have to look for it next time, I don't remember seeing it before!

DH and I actually bought a pickle on our last trip. DSS saw it on one of the Disney videos and thought it was cool so we are going to surprise him on Christmas Day by putting it on the tree to see if he can spot it. :goodvibes

I just finished Kingdom Keepers I and I thought of you the whole time since you mention it frequently in your TRs! heehee.

You and Weird so are cute!

Yay! A WS update! I love to see pictures of WS from other people's TRs because I miss so much while I'm actually there, so I'm constantly thinking "Oooh, I'm going to check that out the next time I go!" :goodvibes

I love your story of the little miniature man sitting on the mountain! I felt so bad for him! I'm sure there's another tiny little lady out there somewhere for him!

Pillow pets! I thought it was cool to see them here because they also sell them at the local mall at one of the stands near the food court. Don't know if it's the same brand, but they were so cute to see.

Argh! Now I have the Pillow Pet song in my head! How could you do this to me?

It's a pillow... it's a pet! It's a pillow pet!

Nice update:goodvibes Cute pictures and I've never heard the gondola story, but I'll definitely look for it next time. How funny that they had pillow pets! I saw a commercial for them and thought they were such funny little things. Then I saw them at Target so I think a pillow pet epidemic is breaking out :rotfl:

I'm so far behind on my subscriptions - I'm trying to get caught up, thankfully you've been busy too and I only missed one update! :thumbsup2

I didn't realize that the gondola in Italy was originally going to be part of a ride, I also didn't know about the Coke icebox spraying water - I learn so much reading your TRs!

lovely update.. I've never noticed that Coca Cola coolbox.. must look for that next trip!

Love that they add that extra touch that's definitely not "needed," but it's just an extra bit of magic! I'll probably have to go back and check it out each time!

I hope you're not saying that WE have to explore separately because how could I part with you in WDW? It just wouldn't be right. Especially if we're going again in February. It'll be chilly enough to hold hands all the time. You said so! :lovestruc

Haha, no way. I don't think I'd actually even be as interested in World Showcase if we explored separately. I'd have to take a million pictures of the things that I would want to show you!

Never heard of the Coke ice box!! That's so cool!
Hmmm, wonder where you guys are going now...:thumbsup2

Hehe, where we're going is a mystery!

You and Weird are so cute :cutie:
(P.S. When we were in WDW last January, it was plenty cold for some "necessary" hand holding and line-snuggling - you know only to keep warm )

Hehe, I like that we're not the only ones that appreciate the cooler temperatures! We call Weird a furnace because he just creates all this heat year round! It's only on rare occasions that he's cold. If we're in WDW in the heat, I don't like being touched at all! Even here in NY heat (haha, not at this moment though because it's been colder), I cringe when his arm brushes against mine because I hate the feeling of stickiness!

I don't think we would've remembered to look for the gondola had Italy not been crowded! Sometimes crowds are good then!

OoOo, so cute that you got the pickle! Are you going to follow with the tradition and have a separate gift?

I really do see the world through Kingdom Keepers glasses!

I don't think there's any way to see all of Epcot in one day. It's just not physically possible! Too much to explore!

HAHA, I love that you said there's another tiny little lady out there somewhere for him. I should look for her in February!

Argh! Now I have the Pillow Pet song in my head! How could you do this to me?

It's a pillow... it's a pet! It's a pillow pet!

HAHAHAHAHA, I had to look up the song on YouTube because I had only seen the commercial once at the dentist's office. I was more concerned at that time about the fact that that they said "hook and loop," which is actually the word for Velcro! I wonder why they couldn't say Velcro; maybe it would've meant paying more to use it and say it.

Now I DEFINITELY know the pillow pet song!

I think that part of me wants a pillow pet too! I love that you can just stick 'em in the washing machine!

Yeah, I've been so busy that I've really neglected this TR! I know I won't be able to finish before we leave in February! I'm going to have 2 going on at the same time ... still during the school year!

Glad I can share some Disney fun with you!
