Weird ADR Problem My Uncle Had While Trying to Book

My uncle called yesterday to make an ADR at Yachtsman Steakhouse for all of us on August 2nd. They are driving from Sarasota to meet us for dinner. When he tried to make the ADR the CM said she could not make it without his Reservation Number. He said he does not have one so she wouldn't let him make the ADR.

This was well within the 90 day ADR window. How are people that are staying offsite supposed to make ADR's. I think he got a misinformed CM because this didn't make any sense.

Has to be a misinformed CM. Within 90 days anyone can make reservations, WDW resort guest or not. Did he call back?

Did he say "I don't have it" or did he say "I'm not staying onsite"

He said he's just coming up for dinner. She said she needed a reservation so he asked if he could give her Ours. She said yes and he was able to book.

PLEASE call back and see if you can get to a guest services agent so they can look up that CM/home agent so they can get the memo that you don't have to be staying to make a reservation!!!

I've stayed off-site and dined at Disney. Just told them the resort was off-site and then they ask for a phone number.

ahh - sorry he went through that. He definately should have been able to make them. How frustrating.
