I've been on WW for 10 days now. I really like how it teaches you moderation.
I also started using the treadmill for 20 minutes, 2-3x/week.

Who else on here has done Weight Watchers? How much did you lose and in how long?

I started WW in 2002 and lost 118 pounds and reached my goal in 12 months, and became a lifetime member. I have gained about 30 of those pounds back over the last several years but I still do WW and keep up with my points everyday. It is the only "diet" program that has ever worked for me and I believe it is the best out there. I am a very picky eater and WW allows me to eat just about anything I want as long as I count the points. I am still trying to get back to my goal weight but at least I am maintaining where I am now and so far have not gained anymore weight. Good luck with the program. :)

First, congrats to both of you!!! I am a die hard WW lover!

I lost 120lbs in 9 months as of May '08. Since then I've struggled to stay on program and have gained some back (thankfully not all!) LOL I have more to go and have been trying to get back into it. The program is great, 90% of it for me is mental ~ I'm finding I'm a bit of a self-saboteur. :headache: It's basically just counting calories, but they make it so easy to do and you really do learn along the way.

My DH2B does WW too and he lost 140lbs in about 15 months (we started together, he has done better at maintaining, though).

I have been on weight watchers for the last 3 months (had the last 15lbs to lose) and I just achieved Maintenance last week.

I have found WW the only way to lose weight :cool1::cool1: Love the point system.

I started WW two years ago and lost 30 lbs. I reached Lifetime in May 2008. I have gained some of the weight back(about 10 lbs) so I am working on getting that off. I find that I self sabotage also:headache: but the meetings are a huge motivator for me. If I can get in the groove of keeping my motivation in the forefront of my mind, then I do awesome! Every now and then, I let it slide, stop counting points, stop working out etc and it's a real struggle to back on track, but once I do it's great! I love WW!

I did the WW At home program in 2001 and lost 120 lbs.... gained 35 with my next pregnancy, but then took it off again within 4 months after my DD was born.... over time though, I've gained back 6 lbs :( :( but still down 114

To add to my post above....who would of ever thought that I would meet the most wonderful woman at WW and would later marry her. My and DW and myself have been married for 5 1/2 years. :lovestruc

I reached my goal weight and lost 60 lbs. 3 years ago. But since then, when I don't keep track of my daily eating, I've managed to put back 20 of those pounds. So I'm back on and will keep plugging away. It's not a "diet" for me. It's a lifestyle change. And that's the only way to really succeed at it. Good luck to you!:cool1::cheer2:

I started WW again for the MILLIONTH time on 01/01/2008. Since that time I have lost 61 pounds (the majority of it in the first 6-8 months). I don't mind that the remaining pounds have come off slower.... it has given me more time to make this type of eating a LIFETIME HABIT.

I had lost 40 in my most recent previous time on WW in 2003, but regained 20 of it, so my actual overall weight loss with WW is 81 pounds. I have about 8-ish pounds left to get to my new goal (I dropped my goal by another 5 pounds).

WW is like so many things in life... it works as long as you STICK WITH IT! My biggest change this time around has been adding the exercise and continuing to remind myself that this is NOT A DIET, BUT A LIFESTYLE CHANGE!!

I LOVE that there are NO restricted foods and that I am ultimately in control of what I eat. I have one splurge meal a week (usually Friday or Saturday night) and I try to vary my points on a day to day basis, to keep my metabolism guessing and working hard. I exercise AT LEAST 30 minutes per day, 5-6 days per week... but usually more like 45 minutes per day. Mostly I do cardio, but I have added some free weight circuit training at home and Nautilus training when I go to the Y to help sculpt and build muscle. I actually enjoy the weight training more than the cardio! I never would have guessed that!

Again... you will get OUT of WW what you put INTO WW. It is an excellent, healthy program that teaches about portion control, healthier choices, and exercise. It CAN work for any body who is willing to do it. Good luck and come join us over on the WISH board if you want to talk more about WW or any other healthy lifestyle chat!.......................P

You guys are all fantastic! I lost about 30 pounds last year at this time. Gained about 10 back and just started again yesterday. For me it's a constant struggle and never gets easy or is easy. That's just me though.

WW works if you follow the program.

1983, my DS was 6 months old. I had put on 60 pounds with the pregnancy and did nothing about it after he was born(06/82). So as the New Year approached I decided WW was the way to go. Joined up and although it took me 6 months, I was back to my original weight by his 1st birthday. Lost all 60 lbs+. I waited until I lost 10 lbs and then joined (in those days) an aerobic dancing class....those classes 3x a week, combined with WW, the weight just started to fall off.

I had another baby 3 years later and was much more focused on my weight. Had DS#2 and got right back to my orginial weight in no time at all.

I have been a Lifetime member of WW since 1983!!! :thumbsup2

DS' are 27&23 now. And I have never put another lb back on. I loved that WW diet I was on back in the early '80's.

The key to my success was keeping up with exercise. I do watch what I eat but not as diligent as my w/o plan is!!! This weekend, DH&I rode our bikes all day Sat from 10am-5pm and on Sunday we walked 10 miles. :thumbsup2 Week nights we walk an average of 6 miles. We take 1 day off a week from any exercise. :goodvibes

Good luck, OP, keep up the good work!! :thumbsup2

54 lbs. with WW since May. I'm in a rut now, though, and have been really bad about tracking and binging for the last 3 weeks. My meeting's today, and I'm recommitting.

Problem is I have about 70 lbs. more to go, so maybe it's just my psyche planning for the next stage of loss.

to maintain or stay below my goal/lifetime weight. At the beginning of the year they gave me a bookmark and I had to get a star for each month and when I hit 10, I would get a "key" to put on my keyring. I went in for my monthly weigh-in at the end of October and got my 10th star.

It's exactly like the one I got in '05 when I attained lifetime. I keep the keychain on my dresser where I can see it each day. It reminds me of what I have accomplished; but more importantly, that I can do it TODAY. I earned my new "key"...

All of the weight losses the PP's have shared are very impressive; the message they convey is that it didn't happen overnight and they stuck with it. Thanks all for inspiring me.

I lost 60 pounds between 2003-2005, I am vigilant about what I eat and have not gained any weight back.

Congratulations! I'm right there with ya. I've lost 31 pounds om WW since April, but hit a plateau in August. I kinds lost my groove and just maintained for a couple months(at least I didn't gain!) It is disheartening when you realize that even though you've successfully lost 31-lbs, you still look fat and you have at least 50-lbs to go.

I went to see a bariatric specialist last week to help jumpstart my progress. I really liked her. She does medical weight loss only, no surgery(but she refers is necessary.) She was able to analyze my health issues, history of weight gain, etc, and she thinks that I might be pre-diabetic.:scared1: That scared the starch out of me. I have labs pending now. Obviously, if I am pre-diabetic I will have to take meds. More than anything else the specter of diabetes has galvanized me to get back on the wagon. I'm going to WW meetings again and really watching my diet and making better choices. And no more binging in the car where nobody can see me!:headache:

I lost 65lbs in about 8 months with WW then I got pregnant and gained it all back! I'm trying to re-start it but I have a back injury so the exercise part is harder for me. I love WW, it allows you to eat some of the food you like and still lose weight. It's also realistic that you will eat sweets/cake/etc. You can't live your whole life never eating any of that kind of stuff. Good luck to everyone!!

My mom and i are both just starting WW.

I gained 60 lbs oer 3 years from being on prednisone and over the past year i have successfully lost 43 lbs by myself. But i have hit a major plateau. Ive been at 150lbs for the past month so i'm hoping that maybe WW will help with the last 13 lbs.

My problem also comes wiht that I can't really exercise. I have severe asthma and heart problems.
I had finally gotten the okay to do aerobic exercise 20 mins. 3 days a week 5 weeks ago but i ended up in the hospital 3 weeks ago with an asthma attack and until i can get back to my maintenance level with my asthm,i am not allowed any strenuous activity b/c my heart is too fast and my lungs can't take it adn that will take another 3 or 4 weeks before i can do that.

Thank you all so much for sharing your experiences! I am hoping I stick to it this time.

I have been doing WW for a little over 2 weeks now. I cheated once last weekend when we had company for the weekend, but otherwise I've been sticking to my allotted points.

I'm doing WW Online because I don't have time for meetings and I really don't enjoy them (did them several years ago & they were not for me). WW online definitely suits me better & I love keeping track of my points online.

I also started a regular exercise routine for probably the first time in my life!! My parents gave me their treadmill when they downsized houses and I've been using it 2x/week. I started out slow (I usually do not exercise so even 5 minutes on that thing felt like an eternity at first). I am now up to 20 minutes & I think I'm going to stick to that time for now, but gradually increase my speed. :confused3Is that the best way to do it or is it better to increase duration?? I'm also trying to build myself up to 3x/week, starting this week. Each time I use the treadmill, I am burning 150 calories (50 fat calories). Is that enough to count??

About 6 years ago, I lost 26 pounds in 6 months. I kept it off easily for 4 years but now it is starting to creep back on. I am counting points again to keep the weight from getting out of hand again.

I have lost 30 lbs in the last 2 months on the plan combined with some light exercise (I have asthma so I am struggling to slowly regain my "wind" after 20 years of little to no exercise and smoking on and off).

The one thing that concerns me is that I have to travel on business a couple of times this month and have no idea how to stay on track as going out to eat with clients is an essential part of the trip.

Any suggestions for not completely blowing it under these circumstances? I would be happy to just not gain so that I don't have to work my way back down again.

Thanks all and congrats to all of you who have lost the weight and kept it off. I hope to be able to be one of you some day.
