I've struggled with weight all my life. There were times in my life where I looked really good, but gained the weight back. I just had a baby three and a half months ago. My weight at the beginning was 169. I got up to 220. I was a little worried thinking I was gaining too much. My doctor said I was fine and that every woman is different. After I had my daughter, 20 pounds came off immediately. I've been dieting since then and I'm happy to report I'm down to 179. I have a goal to get down to 120 because it's always been my dream to shop for size three clothes. Today I went to Raley's to p/u a prescription. I went through the ice cream aisle. I picked up a gallon of mint chip ice cream. As I was almost to the check out stand, I turn back and return the ice cream and instead get 100 calorie creamsicles. I want to hear YOUR weight loss stories. :sunny:

I'll share mine!

I started off on WISH on December 1, 2003. I was a miserable size 26/28 and had over 100 pounds to lose. Through the wonderful South Beach Diet, working out with the Firm tapes and the fabo support on this site, I melted down to a size 10 and lost 110 pounds! I was riding high. I got real busy and decided even though I'd love to get into a size 8 and lose about 10 more pounds, I was pretty happy where I was so I stopped coming to WISH and started to eat like "normal" people in "moderation". RRRRIIGHHHTTT! For me there is no such thing. Once I started with the sugar again, my eating was totally out of control. I stayed out of control from the beginning of April of this year until yesterday. Nothing in my closet fits except a pair of black slacks and a black skirt. I have regained 20 pounds. Some success story, right? Here is the success part. I have drawn my line in the sand. I have come to my senses. I want to lose the 20 I gained and lose about 20 more. I am determined to wear my size 10's comfortably again and possibly even wear that elusive size 8. People have always told me that losing weight is hard but maintenance is the hardest part and I totally agree with that.

Teresa - good for you in making the right and healthy choice with the ice cream treat. I had a really good day (cheat free!) yesterday. The first day like this in over 4 months. I plan on being cheat free again today. I will think about the good choice you made when I'm faced with temptation today. At lunch I'm taking an oudoor boot camp class - I just love my gym! I am determined to get to my goal!!!

Thank you ZerasPride!!! :sunny: I enjoyed hearing your story. I know YOU CAN DO IT!!! I know it may be difficult, but next time you get a temptation just ask yourself "Is it REALLY worth it?" What I suggest you do, if you want to, is every ten pounds you lose you treat yourself to icecream or a good burger at a restaurant. That way you won't go nuts! My 27th birthday's on the 16th and I'm determined to get down to at least 175 so I won't feel guilty about treating myself to a GOOD burger from Red Robin. Then I'll be having an Italian rum cake. It's all about portions. As much as I'd love to keep the entire cake, I plan on giving it to my in laws and co-workers. Please keep me updated on how you're doing and good luck!! :goodvibes

Teresa - thanks so much for the vote of confidence. Unfortunately, sugar for me is like crack to a drug addict or a drink for an alcoholic. It's okay though, it's so much better for me to just admit it and accept it than to keep fighting it. "Moderation" doesn't work for me with my sugar addiction. I couldn't eat one cookie or one ice cream treat without falling off the wagon again. But that's just me and it doesn't mean I can't reward myself with something nice (and non-food related) when I lose 10 pounds.

I was never a believer in doing the rewards thing every few pounds but maybe that was a mistake. I was just so thrilled to get into smaller clothes and the first time I shopped in a non-big ladies clothing store, I cried so hard I think the sales girl thought something was wrong with me. That was reward enough then but now I would like to find some little treat to give myself when I lose 10 pounds. Now you've got my brain working to find something not too expensive that would really thrill me and motivate me to keep going.

I appreciate your support. By the way, yesterday was a very good eating day for me. I had a great tough work out (outdoor bootcamp) at lunch time and even managed to eat dinner early. Today I'm guzzling my water, had a good on plan breakfast and plan on taking a pilates class for my work out at lunch time. How are things going with you today?

VERY good, thank you. I weighed myself this morning and I'm 177!!! Only 57 more pounds until my goal. I'm just eating less, and eating dinner early. The last three nights I've eaten low calorie tv dinners and a creamsicle for dessert. I also try to drink as much water as possible during the day. I'm breastfeeding my daughter and I know that's helping.

Good job on your cheat free day! Keep up the good work! Have you ever considered getting a personal trainer? I know some people think one would be useless. I know they're expensive and I'm hoping I can afford one soon, but if you get one that's someone that can keep you motivated to keep losing weight. Do you watch the Biggest Loser? Season 4 starts in mid September. That show has really inspired me to get into shape. I have a dream of looking like the models on the show "Deal Or No Deal." I have to leave for work now, but let me know how your day went. Remember-YOU CAN DO IT!!! :thumbsup2

Teresa - you are so sweet! I'm glad to hear things are going well. It sounds like you have a sensible eating plan in place.

Thanks for being encouraging and inspiring to me. This is exactly what I was hoping for when I decided to come back to WISH! Things are going well today. I went to my pilates class, which was fairly tough after yesterday's brutal boot camp but I try to get to the gym during the work week since the gym's in my building at work. I've got an on plan lunch to eat in a few minutes and my meal planned out for dinner. The hardest part of the day for me is after dinner. I like to snack and watch tv so I'm trying to change my night time routine.

We have personal trainers at our gym and even though I haven't paid for one on one time, 2 of the trainders have taken a pesonal interest in me and they help me along which is really encouraging. They know I've gained a few pounds back and are really helping me step up my work out routine, which I appreciate. I love the Biggest Loser and am so tempted to by Jillian's work out plan. I saw the DVDs at the store the other day. She is such a wonderful and tough instructor. I can't wait for the new season to start. Okay, I gotta run now but I'll check with you tomorrow. I hope you have a good and healthy eating day today!
