My wife and I went to our local public truck scales to weigh our 2004 F250 truck to get it registered for the first time. The truck scales were located near other commercial businesses and there were quite a few people in and around the area.
After I pulled onto the scales, I got out of the truck and walked over to where a young man was sitting inside the office. I had explained to him that we were required to weigh the truck and that I was to take a copy of the weight slip to DMV.
When he looked at the digital display of the weight, he said, Your truck weight is 7200 lbs and if you can reduce the weight to under 7000 lbs, the cost of registration would be a lot less.
So I yelled out the door, Hey babes, we need to lessen the weight of the truck by 200 lbs, can you get out?
