Hello all,

I'm in need of a little assistance hopefully some people from Orland or who have been recently can help with. I'm going down to AKV in later October with my family (8 people total) and we're planning on having groceries delivered. I debated between Garden Grocer and wegoshop and from reviews I think we're going with WeGoShop but I know they give you the choice to pick where to buy from, people going to wal-mart and publix and such, what store would you recommend to have the best prices overall? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!!!

I just have them choose--they're more familiar with the local stores. I think they've always gone with Publix, which I don't know because we don't have them up north. I can't say enough about wegoshop--they always deliver the groceries prompty and make good substitutions if something isn't available.

I just got off the phone not 20 minutes ago with Amy from WeGo Shop. I too had a question about stores. I originally put down Walmart since that's one I am familiar with and she said she prefers Publix. She just seems to find their items to be fresher; especially produce.

I ask them to use Publix. Publix has their weekly ads online so depending on the timing I will check the current ad and make a request for fresh produce on sale. So far the timing has worked. I also use WeGoShop because they will also make a stop at Whole Foods and get some specific organic/gluten free items to our order.

Ditto this. I talked to Amy today and she said she loves Publix because of their fresh produce and cheaper prices. BUT we are fairly strict on all of our fruits and veggies being organic so I thought it was easier to stick with Whole foods but there are some "off" things that you can get at other stores so I am fine with her choice of Publix and trust her opinion.

We arrive on Friday at BWV!! :cool1::cool1:

I have a question for those who have used Amy and Marge; what do you normally tip??

Thanks so much for the advise! I'll definitely go w/ publix if thats what she believes has best deals! :goodvibes

And I also second the question of the previous post:

"I have a question for those who have used Amy and Marge; what do you normally tip?? "

what is the norm for tipping 10%/15% more??

We just used Wego for the very first time, and just had to state how great they were. Service superb, prompt, professional, and any fresh produce we ordered (grapes, watermelon, cantalope, and other items), were all top notch quality. Even our bananas were perfect! I believe we tipped 10% of the what our grocery bill was. Oh, and the few substitutes that were made were perfectly acceptable. They even called me about 1 item in particular to make sure I was ok with it before the purchase. I would not hesitate to recommend them and plan to use them again in the future.

As for where to shop, we were unsure too because we do not have a Publix in my area, so we went with Walmart who had all but 1 item that we ordered and for us, reasonably priced. We actually emailed a list of what we were looking for to Wego and based on what we wanted they suggested Walmart. When your order is delivered, you will also receive the original grocery receipt (which I also liked because I could actually see what each item cost).

We have used the Garden Grocer, and no complaints there, but for us Wego's system worked better for us (much more choices).

I used we go shop as well and let them choose the store. I ordered some beer and wine with my order, so I told them to shop where that could be purchased.

I live in Celebration and see these people shop on a regular basis at the Publix store I use. They do a great job and are very concerned about the items they purchase for you.

I much prefer the bakery, deli and meat selections at Publix over our local Wal Mart.

There is also a Fresh Market and the Whole Foods in the Sand Lake area but overall a big "thumbs up" to Publix.

The more I read each comment about Publix, the more I think I'm going to change our choice of grocery stores from Wal-Mart to Publix. Before we started ordering from WeGoShop, which was many moons ago, we always made our grocery stop at Publix, but when we started using WeGoShop I automatically thought that Wal-Mart would be the cheaper of the two. It is the cheapest around here compared to the other grocery stores we have. We don't have a Publix anywhere here at all. If I'm not mistaken, I have talked to Marge about this before and she really did lean more towards Publix as being the better grocery store. You guys have all convinced me, I'm going back to Publix.

We lived in Jacksonville for 4 months a few years ago and I LOVED Publix and still do, whenever we go there. We use WeGo Shop every trip and get everything from Publix.

Thanks for all this info. I'm a newbie - how far in advance do you recommend setting up the wegoshop?

Thanks!
Leslie
