Weekend rates sky high?

Just booked a room for August - the total was a couple of hundred dollars more than I expected. I called back and they said the weekend rates were higher. Is this normal?

Yes, disney started charging more for weekend nights a few years ago.

This is common among all hotel chains, not just disney.

It is annoying tho.

I guess I would rather pay more at Disney World rather than anywhere else!!!

You should hear the rumblings from DVC members. Friday and Saturday nite points are outragious, compared to the weekday points to stay at DVC.

You can also price out your vacation on the Disney World website, and it will tell you the price per night (if you don't want to call again to check). Go to the "special offers" section to select the discount you used. I don't think it should be several hundred dollars difference, unless you booked a slew of rooms.
Maybe they added on the travel insurance?

It's the same for using DVC points too. Friday and Saturday night are nearly double the points for Sunday through Thursdays...just plain stinks!

I agree, you might want to double check, because we are going at the end of the month and the weekend nights are only about $10 to $12 higher than the week night.
