Week of Thanksgiving

Does any one have any sugestions for the week of Thanksgiving. I will be traveling with Husband, 2 year old son, and 15 year old daughter.

We arrived on Thanksgiving day last year and stayed untill the Tuesday after. The best advice I can give is not to be anywhere near MK or Epcot on Thanksgiving day. We did AK on that day and it was not bad untill about 3pm or so. The crowds tend to build as thanksgiving approaches and taper off at the end of the weekend. Sunday after thanksgiving in MK was a really light traffic day.

We travel each year on Thanksgiving and our plan has been to get to the parks at opening and leave midday for a rest/swim, dinner then back for nighttime shows. We usually arrive the weekend before Thanksgiving so we do have a few "quiet" days before the crowds arrive--usually starting Tuesday--heavy on Wednesday. We have always gone to AK on Thanksgiving as we find this park less crowded. First year we did MK on T-day and it was WAAAAAYYYY too crowded. This year, it's our off day and we'll hang at the resort and DTD. If you are still planning which days you will go to which park--I'd pick Thursday as my waterpark day/ DTD day/ even Disney Quest day. We leave the Friday after T-day so I can't comment on surviving the weekend!

We did Thankgiving the first year we took our kids. We arrived on Thanksgiving and left the following thur. That year 5 years ago it was nuts thur.fri. and sat. But sun. on it was great. You are going to love being there that time of the year. You enjoy two holidays ! It got us in to the Xmas spirt. We were just talking about when we would go again. And we both said Thanksgiving was a great time to go. As everyone else said go early in the morning and use fast passes when possible.We felt it was doable. If you can stay until the next week I would do it.

I was there the weekend before Thanksgiving last year and it was incredibly slow!! The wait for 99% of rides was under 30 mins (the only exception was Toy Story Mania at DHS). Hope it's the same way for you!

WOW - this makes me very happy! I arrive Sat before Thanksgiving and leave Wed before Thanksgiving! We were hoping it would turn out to be a good time! Sounds like it will! Keeping my fingers crossed.

We will also be going the Sat. before Thanksgiving and leave Wed.
I work in retail, so I've got to be back home for Black Friday.
So am I to assume that everything is decorated for Christmas at that time?? I can never take off in Dec. to see the trees at the deluxe resorts so I have only to admire them in the pictures people take on these boards!
