Week of Memorial Day: Which Day(s) for MK?

We should be at the World from the Friday before Memorial Day to the Saturday after. Which day or days would be best to visit the MK?

Hi - we'll be there the same time, except we leave the 7th. We're heading to MK Saturday for our first day. I realize that it will probably be the busiest it ever is with gay day (not that this influences us one way or the other), it being Saturday, as well as a holiday weekend, but we don't care. It just seems like we should do MK first, since it's the most Disney-like/magical in our minds with the castle, parades, pirate's ride, etc. Somehow AK, or one of the others just didn't seem right to start out with.

We were there last year from May 30-June 7th. It didn't include Memorial Day, but I have been there other years during that week. After Memorial day, it may get less crowded during the week, but then gay days comes into play. This was our second visit during Gaydays, but last year was crowded. Their schedule currently shows Thurs (5th) - AK, Fri - MGM and Sat - MK. I would avoid MK at all costs on Saturday. Last year we were riding on the monorail past MK and there was a sea of red shirts going into MK (gays wear red) so if that is any indication of how many of a specific group - not counting other people - then there will be a lot of people at MK on Saturday, June 7th. The hotel even sent a notice to our room to advise that MK would be extremely crowded on Sat. and to go to another park.

We did go to MGM on Friday and I noticed a lot of gay people but I thought it was crowded - not unbearably so, but more crowded than previous years. I don't care who's there, I just want to be where the crowds aren't!!

Back to your MK quesion: The unofficial guide always advised to go to MK "early on Sunday" so that is what we do. It's the day after Early Magic Hour, so a lot of people were there the day before. We also always go to MK during EMH on Thursday (if it's still the same day) and then leave when it gets really crowded. If you are staying the entire day you may want to avoid an EMH day. Friday (day after EMH) is a good day too and a travel day for some. The Unofficial Guide is a great book - they do list in there the best days to go to the parks. They can probably give you advice about handling Memorial Day crowds too.
