I haven't been to Wonderland since I was a kid in 1981 (just a half day at that), and I've never been to La Rhonde. We're a family of 5 now (DH, DW, DS10 DD11 DD14) and have recently moved from Nova Scotia to Ottawa. So we're thinking of taking advantage of our new home location.
DD14 might have a soccer trip near Toronto which would push us to Wonderland anyway, the decision would be made for us. But right now that trip look unlikely.
I was thinking of two days at one of the parks. We're the kind of family that can spend several days at Universal Studios Orlando or IoA. Neither of those are half- or one-day parks to us.
DW, DD11 and DW14 (mostly) are fearless coaster fans (Behemoth, Leviathan?). DD10 is mostly a coaster chicken, but loves high flumes like IoA Jurassic Park River Adventure. DH (me) is gradually overcoming coaster fears, and have done the Hulk and Dragon Challenge at IoA, pretty comfortable with that; no way I'm getting on a 200+ ft. high gigacoaster, though.
Everyone but me are fully bilingual.
My gut says try La Rhonde now, and do Wonderland next year or 2014 if we go back to Orlando in 2013 (we prefer to go every second year).
TIA.
