I thought I read some posts here that the parks were very crowded this year during the week prior to halloween. It's a tough thing to search for though -- can anyone who was there this year post again and say what you're experiences were. Thanks!

I was there the week before Halloween. MGM and AK were not crowded AT ALL. EPCOT and MK were another story, but with regards to EPCOT you must take into consideration that the F&W fest. was going on at the time.

We found MK extremly crowded for this time of year. We came to the conclusion that the guest influx must have been from Hurricane Wilma as that it had just rolled in. It seemed that where ever we turned we ran into the families that were 'escaping the hurricane' and had gone to WDW to get hot water, electricity, and an escape from reality. During our wait in one line at the MK we had the family in front of us 'escaping the hurricane' and the family behind us 'escaping the hurrincane'. Just from that instance we assumed that there were a lot more people in the park than normal for that time of year due to the hurricane.

In short, I would not hesitate at all from going to WDW again at time. Actually we are planning on going again once my Hubby gets out of graduate school...in 2008. :o(

Thanks so much for the response. I forgot about Wilma. (Easy for me to do, I guess -- not so easy for others.)

We go the week before Halloween every year and it is usually not crowded at all. I agree with the other poster above that this year, it was pretty packed, especially Magic Kingdom. We also found that it was because of the Hurricane. Also, service wasn't up to par this year because there were so many guests off-season and not enough employees. Our dinner at Artist's Point took 3 hours one night.

That said, I think this year was a fluke because of timing. The week before Halloween is always a great time to go because of the Food and Wine Festival and the Halloween theme, but not all the people until that Friday.
