I know these posts get annoying, but please bear with me. Everything we've read (Unofficial Guide, spring break lists, et al) seems to indicate that crowds will be dying down after Easter. We are are arriving at Disney one week after Easter and going to the parks Monday the 4th.

Nevertheless, it seems that every time I turn around someone is on the Disboards saying it will still be PACKED a full week after Easter. Do they just mean that first week after Easter, or up to two weeks later as well?

I know no one can tell me for sure, LOL, but if anyone has been two weeks after Easter I'd love to hear about your experience. The Unofficial Guide ranks our days there as 4s, and we honeymooned early August 2003 and those were 8s. I'm thinking this has to be better???

BTW, when I was a kid and lived near Disney we had to take my Buffalo cousins on Easter weekend, so I know how what crowded is. I'm just hoping that's not going to be what this trip is like!

Ack!

Hey we will be down there from APril 1-9, our spring break for the kids is the 1st week of april as is all of NE indiana for the most part. based on experience the crowds for the week will be smaller than the 2 weeks at easter and you will notice a difference if you have ever been there at that time. That being said it will still be crowded and you will have to plan for it. Relax, and enjoy the moments Have FUN.

just a follow up

as i look at the iformation on crowds I just am wondering myself how they can say crowd levels will be a 4, I think 6 is probably more accurate. If it is a four that would be great. it is suggested treating the first week of April especiallly early in the week like it is easter week in terms of planning and strategy. the crowds should decrease as the week goes on. Lets hope that is true. have a great trip..........we will :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

FWFamily4Life --

Thank you for your response! I suppose I just need to stop worrying and ride the wave. :earboy2: We are taking DD for the first time and meeting my mom down there (she's never been for an extended stay even though I grew up in Melbourne) so I suppose I am just feeling the pressure.

Have a great trip! See you there. LOL

I was checking this out too! I am there the 5th through the 9th! :flower:

sarahsmom --Have a great time! I'm thinking it really will not be as crowded as some think. We'll see. :Pinkbounc

I'm hoping too :) I'll be there April 5th to the 10th

we are there 2nd - 17th.. so i want to know too! I heard that the week after easter week was quiet at Disney...now Im getting scared!!

SammiG & Simba -- I think perhaps part of it is that some people are considering the first week of April THE week after Easter, not realizing how early Easter actually is. While April starts within that first week after Easter, it's the tail end of it. Let's all keep hope alive!

One thing is almost for certain. It will be great weather! As a native Floridian (who misses home!) I sure know that April is some fine weather. We went on my honeymoon July 27-Aug 3--scorcher!

We'll be there from the 2nd until the 9th, and I'm expecting it to be pretty crowded, but my DH gets mad at me when I tell him that! (As though by saying it, I'm making it so!) We have one PS per day for the most part; two on Sunday with the FDP. I'm just planning to take it kind of easy and try not to stress out. I had a dream last week that when we arrived at the MK in the morning, it was total gridlock at the entrance! So, although I'm playing it cool in front of the family, I'm secretly worried about the crowd levels! My big concern is my ability to get the guys up early! My DH and two teenage DS's are going to be tough to awaken, and I'd like to get to the parks as early as possible! I'm even having visions of heading out without them in the mornings, if they make it too hard to get going! Regardless, since my boys are in high school now, It just isn't sensible to take them out of school, so crowded or not, WDW here we come! :sunny:

I don't think it will be that crowded. I think part of the problem with crowds this year is that Easter is early and college spring breaks are the same as many school spring breaks. This week there are about 1.3 MILLION college students on spring break. Next week it drops to about 200,000 and it drops to 2900 the following week.

corinascot -- I am relying heavily on those statistics as well! Although, at the end of the day this is when we can go. My husband is in a training program and when we come back he'll be starting the managerial phase (as in, he'll be the bank manager--yikes!) so we have to go when we're going.

It'll be fine [she says convincingly].

I am going during the week - April 10th - 15th. I am hoping for smaller crowds as well. I went the weekend after Memorial Day a few years ago and walked onto every ride. Talk about spoiled! I rode Splash 6 times in a row, because there was no one in line!!

I've been wondering the same thing. We will be there April 2 - 9. I've already warned my family that it will be packed and that we are just going to go with the flow. We will probably end up eating offsite most nights if it is too packed. I hate to make PSs and be held to a deadline. I figure if we can't ride everything this trip, it's an excuse to come back!! :rotfl: Have fun everyone!!!!!
