Wednesday update on my broken ankle and leg (for those who have been asking)

Thanks for the update.:D

Sorry about the potential hernia, but I am glad you are healing well.

My mom shattered her elbow 2 summers ago, and her elbow is held together now with stainless steel wire (they could pin or rod it). I know her rehab was no fun for her, but it sounds like you are progressing nicely.

Hang in there John. You'll be better before you know it!

Thanks for the update, hope you are able to do more things soon and continue to heal.

ALIEN FACTOR????????????

Not yet, but a possibility since I'm home alone today.

Are you still going on your vacations this year as planned?

So far our plans have not changed although I may have to have some assistance getting around. I'm more worried about Cedar Point on Memorial Day weekend. I think that I may have more trouble getting around by then.

I've spent the better part of the morning filling out more insurance paperwork. This time it's my fault. I decided to try to work from home during my disability. So I am not "totally" disabled. I have to report my hours to the insurance company so that they can reduce my benefit by the proper amount. As I think I've said before, if I'm ever hurt at work again, I'll just sit on my backside until I'm healed and not try to do any work from home. It's not worth the headaches that it causes.

Quick update - Surgery is scheduled for 1:15PM tomorrow. Before the surgery, I'm going to drop by work to talk with the company doctor (which I didn't even know existed) about whether or not I have a hernia.

No food or drink (including water) after midnight tonight. It's going to be a long Wednesday morning.

So good to hear that your leg is healing. I hope you really don't have a hernia though! Good luck on your surgery.

I'd been wondering how you were doing. I remembered hearing of your accident, but for heaven's sake you messed up baaad:earseek:

Good luck on the surgery and the possible hernia thing(ouch!).
We'll look forward to the day when you're no longer a "cast" member;)

Ouch, you sure took quite a spill. Good luck with the surgery and the abdomen problem.

I am so sorry to hear that. I hope that you will feel better shortly!

good luck on your surgery tomorrow......

Both my DH Todd (reconstructive foot surgery after the arch of his foot collapsed) and MIL (fell and broke all 3 ankle bones) are in leg casts right now, so it seems to be quite the cool thing to have. :p ;)

Best wishes for tomorrow, John, hope all goes well. As for the tummy thing, maybe Top Thrill at Cedar Point to align things. :p Take care, my best.

Dan

Glad to hear that your leg is healing -- albeit slowly. I hope it continues to improve and that the range of motion exercises aren't too painful.

I hope everything with your abdomin is easily fixable. My abdom has been looking strange for 10 years now -- but that's what 2 kids and 35 pounds will do to you. :D

thanks for the update. I'm glad the screw removal went so well and that you do not have a hernia.

It sounds like that you are progressing very well considering all the damge done. What ever you are doing, keep it up.

Woo Hoo!! That sounds like great news all the way around ::yes::.

Krista :)
