I hope someone has the answers for me!
I'm looking at a Wishes collection vow renewal and I'm wondering do guests have to stay at a Disney resort? I know some people like my dad wouldn't stay there!!

Also I think there may be an option of free dining plan at the time of year we're looking to go. If I book a holiday to get the free dining will my nights count towards the Disney minimum nights?

Guests don't have to stay at the resort if they don't want to. However part of the Wishes wedding is a room block where you guarantee 25 nights. This can be made up with your stay or other guests. At first I didn't think that 25 nights were feasible so I spoke with them and they were able to make it for 10 nights. If you have other guests that are willing to stay then I wouldn't worry about your father not wanting to stay there.

If you book your nights through another promotion/discount other than the room block, they still count. You would just have to give your room block coordinator the reservation numbers and she would add them manually. That is what myself and most of my guests did. HTH.

We have friends that own DVC and they came down for our wedding and their DVC nights also counted toward our minimium.

They don't have to stay on property. Also I know the room block is a big issue but speak with your sales consultant about it. My room block requirement was waived when I explained to her that I live in FL and many people were staying either in timeshares or just driving up for the wedding and not staying overnight. we wouldn't have met the requirement. It wasn't in my LOA and no one ever mentioned it again.
