I have a small dilemma when thinking about pictures. I'm going with Randy Chapman after hearing all the great things about him on these boards. Randy says that he needs to know where to report to before the wedding and what time.

My ceremony is at 2pm and I'm wondering what others have done. We are staying at the Wilderness Lodge. I'm not sure if I should have Randy come to the hotel first for pictures with me and the bridesmaids or if I should just have him show up at the Wedding Pavilion an hour early and take pictures of me first and then my fiance.

Could anyone provide me some advice on how it should go?

Thanks!! :drinking1

Hi!
We are having him come to the wedding pavillion and take pictures an hour and 1/2 before the wedding. We start at the GF - the guys go first 90 minutes before ceremony - then the girl 60 minutes before the ceremony. You can have hiim come to the hotel too if you want, he will if you want. Its really up to you!!

We had him for our intimate, and he came to the room where I was staying about an hour before the ceremony. He got the standard getting ready pics and stuff. Then he left before me to make sure he was at the site when I arrived in the limo.

The other thing we did, was when I arrived at the Poly, Randy set my DH up outside with his back turned, then set me up, and had DH turn around when Randy was ready. This way we had pics of my hubby seeing me for the first time, even though we walked down the aisle together. It was actually the best part of the day, as we got about 10 mins of just us time, without anyone else around. It made that moment sooo special, and something we couldn't have had if I walked down the aisle toward him.

It depends on what type of photos you expect from Randy. If you prefer to have more Getting Ready photos, then Randy should be at your hotel first. Otherwise, you can meet Randy at the Wedding Pavillion.

I agree with the majority. It’s down to personal taste; personally I would like some pictures taken 'getting ready' but my head is all over the place and I expect ill change my mind a dozen times before the wedding comes! The GF is a lovely setting for photos. I am also having Randy; he is such a lovely guy - good luck and hope you have a lovely wedding princess:

Randy came to our room and took some getting ready shots and shots of me, Mom and MOH in the garden area of our garden suite. Then he left for a bit to get some shots of the guys arriving at the BW. Then he took pictures of me walking to the lobby then down the boardwalk and then all the wedding pictures. We got a great variety of shots.

Whether or not you want getting pictures of you getting ready, if you want any pictures of you and/or your DH to be before the ceremony, you should either have Randy meet you at the Wilderness Lodge (or possibly at the Grand Floridian, which is a very popular picture location among Disney brides). The chances of you getting to take pictures at the WP an hour before your ceremony is pretty slim, especially if there is a ceremony taking place in the timeslot before yours. Pictures taken in and around the WP are generally taken after the ceremony.

I love the pictures that Randy took of me and my girls getting ready in my room. They are some of my favorites of the day. But as others have said, its a personal preference and up to your comfort level how many people you want in the room. Your Wedding Planner/Event Manager will be able to help you create a timeline as to when everyone needs to be ready and when Randy should show up to get all the pictures you want. For our 2:30 PM ceremony, Randy was in my room at the Boardwalk at 11:30 AM.

Like everyone has said its down to personally taste, the best thing to do is to decide what photos are important to you and then contact Randy and he will let you know what the best time is etc. Thats what i did.

Thanks for all you help on choosing when to get pictures taken. This whole wedding planning is harder than I thought. I guess I thought I'd just call Disney and move on!! I think we'll have Randy meet us at Wilderness Lodge because I'm sure there are some beautiful areas for pictures.

THANKS AGAIN ALL!!!!!
