I am getting married in Sept at SBP, and was wondering who you ladies used for hair and makeup? Please post pics too! I would love vendor reviews! Thanks so much!

Hi!

I chose Patricia Lejeune (www.lejeune-pca.com) because I wanted to look naturally made-up, if that makes sense. I am not into the earth tones, mascara + lip gloss-only kind of natural - I love color. But at the same time, I didn't want to look like Pam Anderson or Jessica Simpson or Miss America :rotfl:

So... I'm pretty picky, and I'm really pale. After the trial I told Patricia I didn't want bronzer, which I think is prolly sacrilege in the makeup world, and she still managed to make me look like a member of the living. :cutie: And the airbrush makeup plus some Model In a Bottle that I brought meant my makeup lasted 18 hours!

Post-smooching, eating, drinking, smooching....

I used Ana from Beaute Speciale..loved her to death..I have review on her on the first page of my TR..the link is in my siggy and you will find plenty of pictures there too.

She did exactly what I wanted and listened to me and I love how she did my makeup. You will be in great hands with her. Lily did my mother's hair and MOH's hair and makup.

BTW your little girl is gorgeous.

Originally, I was going to go to the MAC counter and get a lesson on how to do my own make-up and go the DYI route. In the last two weeks of frantic planning I realized what a HUGE mistake that was going to be. I can put on a pretty face, but not something worthy of my Wedding!!!! So, in my panick I called Beaute Special. I was able to book a make-up artist for myself and my bridesmaids, but I didn't get the famous Ana.

The day of my wedding a sweet girl named Kat showed up right on time. I gave her my vision and not much else. She originally went with a color called true red for my lips and I though it was too raspberry colored, so she changed it without hesitation. She used all MAC products (I don't know if that's a concern to you, it really wasn't for me... but some people may want to know.) and I had brought model in a bottle, but she had her own finishing spray. She also gave me powder to touch up as well as the WHOLE lip pencil and some gloss for touch ups!!

Here's how I turned out:

And finally, later in the evening at dinner (hope the red eye isn't too distracting!)

Kat has since gone out on her own and started her own company. Her website JUST launched in the past couple of weeks. You can get to it HERE

She's also Sue and Keiths daughter of Carolyn Allen Bridal fame. I didn't know this until she showed up at the same time as Sue for my dress steaming! Kat is a sweetheart, did exactly what I wanted and I would recommend her without reservation.

I used Beauty Speciale too. I had Lilly and Lorena. there are bunches of pictures in my TR (link in my sig). My makeup was done around noon and was still perfect at 10:30 when I was taking it off to go to bed. While I didn't get the full sized lip pencil (way cool) they did give me a touchup kit, which I never even used.

I'm really interested in using Beauty Speciale. I remember Vanessa (FigmentFan) used Makeover Majic because they didn't use regular liquid foundation in the airbrush tool (some companies do this to cut costs). Do you know if Beauty Speciale or any other make up artists do this ?

Thanks!! :)

Kristin,
Patricia Lejeune does use actual airbrush make-up as Carrie (lurkyloo) said earlier. She's quite reasonable and very fun to be around! I used her for my trial in May and she's scheduled for my VR day and my Epcot Photoshoot day too.

Not sure if they can do airbrush makeup, but I had just regular MAC foundatation and it stayed perfect and never felt heavy. I'm not a normal makeup wearer either - I maybe wear bare minerals powder foundation once a month, the rest of the time it's tinted chapstick and mascara for me. I wouldn't worry about airbrush too much unless you have a specific reason for needing it.

I preferred airbrush makeup because there is no color of foundation light enough for me and they all look fake. With airbrush, it is applied in a more natural-looking way.

The makeup artists who tell you airbrush doesn't last very long are not using real airbrush makeup. :thumbsup2

I USED ANA ALSO FR BEAUTE SPECIALE!!
Ana is wonderful and her prices are great, my hair and makeup lasted over 12 hrs never felt heavy or cakey!!

What Carrie said is exactly why I was wary of having someone do my face. I am incredibly pale and I look best when I stay pale and my face matches the rest of me, lol!! I am glad to hear that airbrush is the way to go!!

I have booked Patricia Lejeune for my wedding in January. I'm concerned about make-up staying put--does she have any sort of finishing spray she uses? I see that Carrie brought her own--does this mean I should do the same??

She didn't seem to have her own finishing spray, but I have a hunch it's because her makeup doesn't require it. I've since used my Model In A Bottle spray a few times, and somehow my makeup never lasts as long as it did on my wedding day! ;)

I would suggest trying some out and bringing your own if you really want it - that way you know you won't have a weird reaction to it or anything...

We had Anna from makeovermagic and she was AMAZING!! She was sooo calming and fantastically patient!! We alll loved her so much!!

Here is some pics of my hair:

disneyheaven - I just have to say I really love your hair! I'm saving your pic as an example of how I would like my hair on my wedding day, hope you don't mind!

I don't understand... did Kat do your hair or did your BM Jenna? I am confused?
