I am stumped and starting to panic! I have NO IDEA what kind of necklace to wear with my dress!!!! A certain beautiful bride here on the DIS wore a gorgeous turquoise/ blue necklace ( ) that made such a statement! I love how it just jumps out from the pics. I would love to find a look along those lines but what options are there for a halter neckline? There just isn't much room there around my neck PLUS there is beading, so I don't want to overdo it. Interesting that the model in the ad for my dress isn't wearing a necklace. I feel the need for my jewelry to be a little different, for it to make a statement...HELP!:scared1: My Main color is pink and I would love my necklace to be carnation pink. Thanks girls!

I think in a halter neckline, you really have to be careful with any kind of necklace. You don't want it to look 'cluttered' around your neck area. Have you thought about not doing a necklace, but doing a tiara?

Thanks DM! My thoughts exactly! I def. don't want "clutter" around there! I just wish I could wear some kind of colorful necklace. I thought about a tiara, I tried them on at the bridal shop but, they looked weird on my timy head so those are eliminated from my list.

i agree with not wearing a necklace. If your dress has a lot of beading you don't want to take away from that. It took me months to come to terms with not wearing a necklace, but now its allowed me so many other options with my headpiece/earrings/etc. :)

what about something like this?

I kinda agree about not wearing a neckalce...but you could do something fun and colorful in earrings!

(something blue :) )

Okay well this is my opinion.
Because it is a halter I would NOT wear a necklace.
I would wear a nice pair of earring with a pretty bracelet.. The tiara is also an option if you like tiara's..:goodvibes

I had a halter dress too and I just did earrings and a bracelet and a tiara. I don't wear necklaces normally and I didn't want to do one on my wedding day. I got them from www.kiwijewels.com and they can custom make anything you want.

Beautiful jewelry!!!!! This is making me wish I bought a strapless dress....I ma just SO hung up on Lurkyloo's necklace. It gave her look that little something special that can't be duplicated. Not to say that I'm not trying tho ;) Ok, so I go with big fancy earrings?

I am wearing strapless so I will be going with a necklace. I know the look right now is no necklace and big earings and I think this would look great with a halter. I really like the earings that were posted in the blue color but if your colors are pink why don't you go with something like that in pink. I don't know what your bouquet looks like but if it is pink this would look great together - the large pink earing and a pink bouquet.

Ok, I guess, no necklace:sad2: .....weird to think of "not" wearing one b/c I am NEVER with out one. As for earrings, I normally wear the diamond mickey head studs DF gave me so a fancy earring will be a departure. I suppose that's appropriate, to change things up for the wedding. I def. want pink earrings. Just a little concerned with balance as I have a tiny head. Ridiculous, but true :) I don't want cheapies... where can I find nice ones? What the heck style should I look for?????? This is me lately~>:surfweb:

Wow, those are all great. I wouldn't be able to decide - except if you want silver or gold that would narrow down the choices.

Can I order them online???? What if the color isn't right??????

They can all be ordered online...you would have to check the return policy for whatever one you are looking at. And remember they are going to be up at your head, so the color doesn't have to be perfect. I like spending your money!

eBay is a really great source for inexpensive jewelry.

etsy.com has a lot of unusual and one-of-a-kind pieces. Here are the results for a search on "pink chandelier earrings" - 38 pages!

http://www.etsy.com/search_results.php?search_type=tag_title&search_query=pink+chandelier+earrings

Also, the site I posted links to earlier has a lot of really beautiful stuff. (but if you fall in love with the coin pearl jewelry, look for similar, cheapers versions on eBay). And, at a similiar price point, www.fragments.com has nice things.

You can also commission my jeweler, Madame Fortuna, to make you custom earrings. She could look at your dress and come up with some ideas for you. She's also on etsy.com.

Here's a site whose products turn up in wedding mags a lot: http://www.ben-amun.com/store/earrings/index.html

And this one has lots of celerbity knockoffs for cheap, plus they always seem to be having a big sale or a daily discount or something: http://www.sparklesforever.com/frontDyn.aspx?CategoryID=39

Hope this helps!

Oh, P.S.: If you always wear necklaces, I think there's nothing wrong with wearing one with your halter top. A big simple drop on a chain would look lovely!

Well, girl's thanks for your input;) .... after really deliberating on this:guilty: , I am going with your suggestions of skipping the necklace:goodvibes . I am also going to use my jewelry idol, Lurkyloo's suggestion of "ginormous" earrings;) I ordered gorgeous pink swarovski earrings yesterday and they will be in on the w/e. I will post a pic. THEY ARE SOOOOOO BEAUTIFUL and different from anything I have ever worn. Makes forgoing the necklace alot easier:woohoo: . THANKS THANKS THANKS again! DF is sick of listening to it, so I need u guys:grouphug:
