The wedding is just 13 days away!!! Things are starting to come together. We are doing a white, blue and silver theme. Below you will see a picture of the cake, but DS and FDIL's will have a different monogram on it. It will also not have the words on the bottom two layers, but I am going to get a sign maker to put it on a banner to go in the reception. We are also getting the initial cake in chocolate with white adornments with the letter "B" to use as a groom's cake. In a bowl on the cake table we are having the cutomized M&M's which are white and blue with DS and FDIL's names imprinted on them and the wedding date on others. The M&M's are mixed with silver-coated Amorini chocolate hearts. It looks very elegant. We are doing the chocolate fountain with assorted things to dip. Our punch is yellow (pineapplish - our punch lady is making some for us to taste on Sunday). I am doing white table cloths and I beileve I am going to get blue tulle and put little white lights in to put around the buffet table. I'm also underlighting the buffet table with white lights. If I can find white paper lanterns I may hang a few of those.

The church will have creamy white pew bows and candleabra (2 spiral and one arch). It is an evening candlelight wedding. There will be one large mostly white floral arrangement ona peestal. Our church is filled with a lot of wood and has a wood cathedral ceiling with a red carpet and lots of rich embroidery on altar cushions, etc. so I don't think we need a lot of decoration. Also the paraments (sp?) on the altar will be changed to white.

Thanks! I think the flat one will look much better in chocolate than it does in the color in the picture. Yummy. I am hoping it will turn out beautifully for DS and FDIL. I have been out buying some more stuff and now that it is this close I can get really excited about decorating, etc. Fun, fun, fun!

DS and FDIL had their first wedding shower today - lots of family. Forty people came! It was a madhouse, but a lot of fun . They ended up with 3 bagel toasters. Everyone had a good laugh when she opened the 3rd one.
Lots of towels and china. DS said if he had really thought all these people were going to get them gifts he would have taken that "registering thing" more seriously. LOL
12 days to go!!!!

I can tell that you're very excited & from reading some of your other posts, you have really been working very hard on this. I'm sure your DS & FDIL appreciate all your efforts! You must be a very special person.

All my in-laws did was to add their 2 cents & also try to talk my DH out of marrying me! That was 12 blissful years ago but I still remember!

Anyway, the cakes are both gorgeous from your pictures!

The cakes are beautiful and I am in awe. I remember going crazy when dd got married, worrying about all the details. And I wasn't doing the decorating or making the cakes. Your FDIL is one lucky gal!

Sounds like you are all excited.. It'll be here before you know it!! Those cakes are beautiful.. They look too good to eat.. :goodvibes

I love those cakes! I'm sure the other one will be lovely in chocolate. :)

Wow that is so pretty , I may have to call upon you in a couple of years when my own DD gets married . We have not even started looking at dresses yet but they are not getting married for 3 more yrs.

Lovely!!!! The cake is my favorite part of any wedding.

Beautiful. I´m sure it will be a wonderful day/evening.

Beautiful cake...chocolate sounds delicious! Ahhhh, I feel your joy, such a joyous and exciting occassion to help plan the wedding of our children :lovestruc !! Sounds like everything is coming together fine and I know the day/evening will be a wonderful blessed event for all involved. :goodvibes

I got married this past October, and we had a chocolate fountain and pineapple punch too! Both were very very good! I love the cake, it looks very elegant with the white frosting and blue ribbons.

Was the chocolate fountain very messy? I think it may be. We are having some children at this wedding. Both DS and FDIL did not want to exclude children and most are old enough to come to a wedding. We are having a reception helper who will be able to man the fountain.
