You are all so sweet - Patrick says "thank you" (I let him read just these pages of my trip report but nothing else because he hasn't started it yet!).

I think he had a pretty dang good birthday. First, he went to Disneyland with his brother and used his birthday gift card on a neato vintage-looking Oswald the Lucky Rabbit shirt and some of the latest Vinylmation figurines (unfortunately, 2 of them turned out to be the panda, apparently a bad thing...).

Then he came home and I took him to an all-you-can-eat sushi buffet, which is pretty much heaven for him. And then we had a Cold Stone ice cream cake I ordered - red velvet with cake batter ice cream and buttercream frosting (tasted like whipped cream to me ) and presents!

I love your TR's!

DH2B and I are also DL locals who have recently started frequenting WDW (We'll be taking our 3rd trip within 12 months this September, and this time it'll be for our honeymoon...YAY!). I can relate to your tales and adventures and I love your sense of humor. Your TR's have given me a lot of great ideas for our upcoming trip, and even for our VERY small at home wedding, so I just wanted to pop in and say thank you!

Hi! I think WDW must be addictive, and I'm so glad to hear I'm not the only one who has a problem. I plotted to get out there for eight long years, and now I've been five times in less than two years. I just wish it didn't take a whole darn day (with the time difference) to get there from here.

Virtual DTD Kind of like Soarin' but with huge chunks of wasted space (i.e. Westside, Pleasure Island...) that look much more exciting and happening than they really are.

This is what was I gave Patrick for his present, and let me tell you, it is a gift to anyone who reads our trip reports too!

It's a Sony HX-1 and it does *amazing* things, like shoot panoramic pix with the sweep of your arm and then stitch them together automatically! At night, you can set it to take 6 shots at once and then blend them together, taking the best parts of each, for the best picture - also automatically! Plus it can shoot 10 frames per second, which means we are definitely having a rematch with the birds at the Flights of Wonder show at Animal Kingdom.

Tell me about it! It is SO addicting. What's weird is, from my experience it seems that most DL vets don't like WDW......I think that's just crazy. How could a Disney lover not love a whole city of nuttin' but DISNEY??

I agree about the flight ~ the day long trip is a total bummer! All of our flights (including the upcoming one) so far have been super early in the morning out of John Wayne. That way, we can get to the World by dinner time to try and get a little something out of the day.

Wait wait... don't you and Patrick have APs? Was yesterday not blocked out for you guys? (That means you must have the Deluxe or Mega - lucky kids!).

As far as I've figured out, since my bday is a blockout day, my only options are a 1-day, single-park ticket, or the value of said ticket ($69) towards an upgrade. But paying the $40 blockout fee and getting a $69 gift card is a no-go Booooo. (Upgrade to Deluxe pass it is, then!).

However... if this was not the case for you, then please inform me of your secrets
