Wedding Crasher: Lurkyloo’s 4 Parties in 3 Nights with 2 Cameras and 1 Fabulous Hat

me and buddies love to going to DTD. or at least when PI was open. ....aww memories, had my 21st birthday there :woohoo:.... but the best thing we would do at DTD was go to the movies. Tuesdays were cheaper days, so we would go and movie hop all day long :rolleyes1 Before the movies we would stop at Wolf Gang and get Pizzas togo and then to the Candy Cauldron to get the craziest caramel apples ever and that would be our snacks. popcorn::

Wow, those Tred-D paintings of Minnie were way creepy!

I'm not sure what's making me drool more in this thread--the Root's photos or the food porn:confused3. Oh wait, the answer is: the Root's photos of food porn :rotfl:.

Carrie---we are doing our own "Bonzai" trip to WDW in October. :woohoo: Just decided last night. We'll be leaving NJ at 3:00am on a Thursday and driving for 17 hours (or longer with breaks :scared1:). We'll crash at a cheap Orlando/Kissimme hotel, stay overnight and then go to MNSSHP on Friday for our wedding anniversary (pretty cool if I do say so myself). On Saturday, we'll be up and driving home again.

Insane, I know---but since you are now the master of the Bonzai run, any tips??

Ann

Love the shots in West Side and Marketplace. But, I have to ask am I the only one that is totally creeped out every time I go to Celebration? It reminds me of the Truman Show or something :rotfl:

Clearly, you didn't see the Hagan Dazs shop over there...that makes it worth DOING!!

:magnify: Touche! Indeed, anyplace with a Haagen Dazs is a place worth going!

lurkyloo this is so off topic but I have to let you know remember my DS said you look like Kate Winslet in your wedding pics. Well if you and everyone else would please google Judy Greer your true twin has been found

Well, let's see... oh! She's pretty AND skinny - I'll take it! And I think I'monna steal her hair color when I start doing that...

isn't she in 27 dresses?

Ah, then that's further proof that she and I are separated at birth, since I am in the DIS thread My 27 (Wedding) Dresses: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1691272

Oooh is she for sale? I WANT

I think she's considered a fixture, but you know money will buy you anything you want at Disney! :cutie:

OK..... it is a good thing I am not eating or drinking anything right now or I would be spitting it all over the keyboard from laughing so hard! Thank you for making me laugh, cause I had a bad evening (too complicated to explain, but has to do with my soccer mom duties).

 Sorry you had a bad evening!

Such great color in all the pics!! Although I do think that Goofy's Candy Company was more colorful than the toy store or TrenD!!! And I bet it smelled better, too!

Yes on both counts! :goodvibes

OMG the Judy Greer thing is totally true! Especially those pictures of her and the dog... reminds me of Carrie and Huck, haha!

...Except for some reason no one's asked us to advertise toilet paper... :confused3

I just reported about visiting Celebration in my TR. I had such a different view of it - probably because I don't know anyone there. It felt so positively perfect in every way that I was creeped out. JordanYosh said the same thing - we thought of Stepford Wives!

You know, this was my initial impression of it too, but I think you're right - knowing real people who live there makes it less Stepford-y. Also, now that it's not owned by The Mouse, it feels less like a Big Brother experiment.

I'm surprised Disney heads didn't think about building an indoor balloon ride at DTD. Think about all of those $16's they're missing out on due to "weather" ;).

True - that's alotta $16's! Although if it were indoors... what would you see from up there? :rotfl:

Seriously tho, slow down! You posted a MEGA-big update with oodles of pics - which was lovely! But, slooooow down - so we can enjoy this!

Sure thing! I just keep trying to crank out the updates so people aren't disappointed when there isn't a new one...

Also, I am SHOCKED that you haven't been to a single Disney park yet this year - it's half over!

Ooooo! I'm making these later on! Yummmmmm! We don't get peanut butter chips in the UK though... :sad2: I can't wait to try them, thanks Carrie! You're an absolute star!

 Seriously? No peanut butter chips?! OK, PM me your address and I'll send you a package of them in exchange for a bag of Walkers Prawn Cocktail crisps. :thumbsup2

SO I made a impromptu trip to Disney yesterday while I was in FL. I got 2 giant oreos at Goofy's. I can't wait to taste them. I just might have one for breakfast.

I very much hope that you had one for breakfast, you lucky lady who got to make an impromptu trip to Disney yesterday! :upsidedow

My list of things to do at DTD is growing longer! I'm going to spend so much time trying to figure out what to eat at Goofy's Candy Co, that i'm going to run out of time to shop at Tren-D!

:scared1: Can you add a day to your trip? :teeth:

I really liked Tren-D. I'm too old for 99% of the contents, but still, it's cute.

I think that's probably not the case, but even if it is, don't worry - one day you'll be old enough to work there! :lmao:

Also, I am jealous of your FitFlops. I can't wear them cuz of my freakishly narrow feet. If I could, I would definitely buy them in brown AND black! :cutie:

That sounds like SO much fun! (Although, let it be noted that, as a former movie theater employee, I cannot officially condone movie-hopping.... :upsidedow). But still... so much fun!

Wow, those Tred-D paintings of Minnie were way creepy!

Wow anorexic model Minnie is super creepy. What were they thinking.

Seriously! Whenever they try to make either of the mice "hip" it's always a disaster.

Missed the last couple of posts, you constantly have me CRACKING up!! Love this....don't want it to end!!!

I'll stretch it out as long as I can! And then I'll pester DH for another trip, just for you guys! :rotfl:

I'm not sure what's making me drool more in this thread--the Root's photos or the food porn:confused3. Oh wait, the answer is: the Root's photos of food porn.

Totally! I should ask them if I can post it in the DIS's official food porn thread. The people over there might spontaneously combust if they saw it...

 Congratulations! How fun! Let's see... tips... I guess I'd say to stay up as late as you can on the night you get in so you can sleep in a bit and be ready to stay up for MNSSHP. Also, I think you're gonna need caffeine, and plenty of it! :rotfl:

Then again, in my experience, I was so excited just to be there that I had no trouble staying awake.

Yes, I can totally see that!

But I think I may just be desensitized to it because we have so many planned communities in Southern California, many of them not half so charming as Celebration. At least the houses aren't all identical, and there's a functioning civic center....

Staying up as late as possible on our arrival night is a good idea--but I have a feeling that after being up at 3:00am and driving for that long, if we get there at 10:00pm there won't be much hope, once we see those wonderful Fairfield Inn beds  it's all downhill from there!

I will have no troubles staying up for MNSSHP, I'm more worried about DH :goodvibes He isn't as "into" Disney as I am and while he has graciously agreed to drive down with me for the party and our anniversary---I'm worried that half-way through it I'll find him passed out in his clown costume (or whatever I dress him as) on a bench somewhere along Main Street. It'll be a sad sight but might make for a fun blogging entry :goodvibes

....

Yeah, that's a great idea!!! You know when would be a really good time to go...like around Sept. 18-24th or so, you know, anytime around there would be especially good I think IMHO. ;)

 Seriously? No peanut butter chips?! OK, PM me your address and I'll send you a package of them in exchange for a bag of Walkers Prawn Cocktail crisps. :thumbsup2

If you're being serious I'd be totally up for that!! :thumbsup2

I made the Chocolate Peanut Butter Marshmallow Squares this afternoon and they are AMAZING!! My peanut hating mother has hijacked them though.... :sad2: Much the same way I'm hijacking your TR now by talking about Chocolate Peanut Butter Marshmallow squares... :lmao: Thanks again for the recipe Carrie... Soooooo delicious!

OK, that would be HIGH-larious! *Especially* if he's in a clown costume. You must share pix!

I am totally serious - just ask Wazzo about the time I made her send me "all-dressed" flavor chips (very similar) from Canada! :rotfl:

I am so glad you liked the squares, but I'm telling you, you must have them as God intended them: with peanut butter chips. :thumbsup2

OK, so I'm sorry to say there will be no update tonight (which is tomorrow morning for some of you!), but it's because I am taking the night off to celebrate Patrick's birthday! That lucky little bozo is in Disneyland right NOW, and if I can get him to come home, we're going to go out to dinner.

However, there are a TON of great Root pix coming up in the next installment, so...

I love your TR's!

DH2B and I are also DL locals who have recently started frequenting WDW (We'll be taking our 3rd trip within 12 months this September, and this time it'll be for our honeymoon...YAY!). I can relate to your tales and adventures and I love your sense of humor. Your TR's have given me a lot of great ideas for our upcoming trip, and even for our VERY small at home wedding, so I just wanted to pop in and say thank you! :goodvibes

P.S. Happy Birthday to your hubby! I hope you two have a great time! :dance3:

Although if it were indoors... what would you see from up there? :rotfl:

Virtual DTD ;) Kind of like Soarin' but with huge chunks of wasted space (i.e. Westside, Pleasure Island...) that look much more exciting and happening than they really are.

This lurkyloo lurker has come out of lurkdom to say....
Happy Birthday Patrick! :cake:
Have a fun evening y'all.

It's your Birthday.... It's you birthday........Party Like it's your Birthday.....

Happy Birthday Patrick!!!!!!!
