Hey all not sure how to begin the process. I know Disney has DFTW but we wanted to find out if you can do a simple wedding without all the hoopla. My son is a Marine and married his wife at the courthouse in Jan but want to plan a wedding. He asked our permission to marry her on a family trip to the Fort. She wants a beautiful tree to get married by and a country cookout. Well over our weekend trip I found a beautiful tree right behind Hoop dee doo and in front of Mickey's back yard BBQ. It's kind of quiet back there and was wondering who they would need to talk to, I know you can rent pavillions not sure about a tree:rotfl2:. The familly and friends can rent cabins or bring their MH or tents and make a vacation of it. I have seen wedding parties there before ( last Oct.) just not sure how to go about it and a price. If anyone knows please let me know. This would just add more great Fort familly memories.Have a great day:thumbsup2

I was gonna mention the same wedding I think. I saw one that it looked like they had rented two sites and were just having people over. It didnt look like it was a disney approved or organized wedding, but hey more power to you. good luck. Maybe try the front desk and talk to a manager

Thanks thegooftroopfla, we don't mind paying to rent the space I was just hoping to not have to go through DFTW and all of their :scared:minumum expenses :teacher:per person, he is in the Marines and you know they don't pay our:scared1: military well. If they do decide to have the wedding at Disney we will for sure be staying at FW and have a wonderful cookout at the site, hopefully multiple sites! It is our favorite familly vacation spot:yay:.

Could you treat it like a Grand Gathering? (are they doing those anymore???) I'm just afraid that the moment you mention "wedding" they'll ship you off to the DFTW department and get you all mixed up in the big buck stuff that they don't want.

I have read a lot of posts like this and anything not in "private" space like in a hotel room or a campsite is going to cause hoopla.

I think Disney is very protective of their "Disney Wedding Brand"

If you just get a group together and try to do it on the sly, I'm sure once the officiant utters the words "Dearly Beloved" the wedding planner swat team will descend from white helicopters. :rotfl:

I wish I could give you any better advice.

LOL! Not difficult to envision, that's for sure. Or at the very least the secret-servicy looking "suits" will sidle up out of nowhere and hand a cease and desist notice to the wedding party!
