Wed/Thurs/Fri + weekend or Mon/Tues/Wed + weekend?

I'm working on a trip for Thur, Sept 29th thru Sun, Oct 2nd OR Sat, Oct 1st thru Wed Oct 5th.

I know the crowd level is busy through out the year these days. Wondering which of these dates might have lighter crowds. Knowing it's Gay Days weekend, I expect it to be busy.

In the past I have found the first part of the week to be slower in the parks.
Wondering how those that have the opportunity to frequent the parks feel?

What do you think?
Go days leading into the weekend or go the weekend and first part of the week?

That's a toughie. I would say the weekend and then the first part of the week. In our experience, those times of the week have been the least crowded.

If you do the second option (weekend followed by weekdays), we will be there at the same time!

Gay days are Sept 30 - Oct 2. It will be much more crowded on these days than other days.

I would take the mid-week less crowded days hands down every time. Even if that means I miss some weekend entertainment.

We were in the parks on Sunday 6/5 and Monday 6/6. Sunday was pleasant while Monday was incredibly crowded.

I'd start with the busy weekend and end with the weekdays. I've always found Tues & Wed to be the least busy days during our trips so since that option gives you both of those days I'd choose that. Plus I think the idea of ending with lighter crowds would be appealing instead of ending a trip when you know it will be very busy. Have fun!

Our rationale has always been: Do we want to have FIVE days of work immediately upon our return? Or would we prefer TWO? So we've always headed out Friday after work and spent Saturday-Wednesday afternoon in the parks, with Thursday and Friday back at work. Vastly preferable to getting back late Sunday and looking at a whole week of work.

Of course, if work isn't a consideration, none of this matters.

I really like the Sunday thru Thurs as my favorite. But the grandkids want to minimize time off work.
For me I'm retired.
It's a great thought for those having to return home and are off to work the next morning.

I prefer the beginning of the week. But keep in mind that starting in the fall, their hours are different. Sunday's are always busier than Saturdays due to annual passholders. This may have changed because they have phased out the So Cal pass.

Also the resort used to offer sun-Thursday hotel discounts.

1st through the 5th, but plan your days accordingly as the halloween parties will be in full flight and you will need to plan around them or plan to be in them.

If you can, you may want to wait to solidify your plans until Halloween Party Dates are released to see if they'll influence your decision at all. At first glance I'd say the Saturday October 1 - Wednesday October 5 option is the better of the two though.

Last year my last day in the park was the first day of Gay Days Weekend AND there was a Halloween Party going on in DL. DCA that night was the most crowded I'd ever seen it. We actually left the park before closing which we NEVER do.
